  1. You obviously don't know me apparently. I wasn't being a troll, I was just being avuncular.

Now you go and research whatever you want in support of your future decision. Just make the right one.

Don't let little things like what the publisher of this site says deter you from your quest.

Well apologies are in order then. Appreciate the feedback. Just have to be careful with a couple of trolls bothering the newcomers.

Thank you for the concern and confidence. Much appreciated.

  2. I understand your question completely. Let's end this here then.

They BOTH have the same effect.

No let us not. And do not troll.

This is a potentially good treatment combined with hair transplantation. Such info can help patients grow more hair than just hair transplantation alone. This is why it is important to explore this area to help the thinning man or woman out there. This forum exists to help those who need such info.

Acell and PRP both possess properties that regrow hair. But for the would-be patient - like myself - curious enough to get either as treatment the info is invaluable.

So I did look more into PRP treatment today. I read they are using a gel help keep PRP from migrating around in order to maintain its effectiveness. This can help regrow more hair it appears.

If I find out more info I will you interested guys and gals know.

  3. I had surgery with Dr K last December and paid the deposit . I had no problem with it .

Some forum members may say you shouldn't need to , but to be fair I can understand the reasons why a deposit may be requested . It shows intent on the part of the patient and puts off the undoubted bluffers out there .

    Hello Chris,

Do you mind sharing how much was your deposit and total cost?

  4. Neither one are effectively proven to regrow hair from completely bald areas. A cell has been used in a process called her duplication so that when hair was literally plot from the scalp out the route, in conjunction with a cell and transplanted, there was evidence of some growth. PRP also has shown some promise in treating hair loss. But I would not really put these two next to each other and compare them in terms of effectiveness neither one have been proven.

    Bill

Oh no! I am not saying that PRP or Acell could regrow hair from complete baldness. What I am saying is that in conjunction with hair transplant surgery it may be more effective in regrowing more hair than hair transplantation alone.

But why not compare PRP to Acell? Surely both have their merit. But perhaps one may yield more hair regrowth than the other. I am willing to bet that PRP grows more hair than Acell from the few images I have seen. However in order to make a good comparision I would have to dig deeper into this.

If anyone else has any info about this topic please post your comment. I would love to read it.

  5. The results at the bottom that show the most regrowth also mention that the grafts were dipped in Acell, so they have more hair because of a transplant rather than just Acell.

But don't you think that the patient should have yielded more hair given that the follicles were dipped in Acell? The scalp does look somewhat sparse from the photos.

I wonder if PRP is better than Acell.

  6. Lol..

    Another day, another Nader troll.

Yes. But we should not concern ourselves with trolls. Let them be.

I did see a patient who had good growth from visiting Doctor Nader. But he was on another forum. It was years ago. One thing I like about Nader is that his hairlines are deep unlike other doctors who play it safe by being too conservative.

  7. Milo,

Welcome to our community. I agree with the others at this question doesn't make sense. For starters, you are comparing apples and oranges, they are both use for different things. Secondly, neither one promote density. So perhaps you can tell us what you are trying to accomplish and then we can possibly help you meet your objectives and goals.

    l

Respectfully I beg to greatly differ. PRP and Acell have both been shown to regrow hair. Take a look at the link. It shows case studies of patients who have taken them and regrown hair. I have even visited hair transplant clinic sites that offer such services as part of their restoration protocal. Again do take a look at the case studies in the link. It will help convince you that they do regrow your hair.

  8. (Laughing). I thought this was supposed to be a forum for SUPPORT and POSITIVE feedback. Comically, for whatever reason, individuals feel the need to inject, hate and negativity, needlessly into a conversation.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter whether i chose Turkey or the US.

It was MY choice, MY money, and most importantly, MY HEAD!

    .

Exactly. I could not agree with you more. You will run into individuals with negative intentions. Well just ignore all that negativity and just focus on your life I say. Be positive and positivity will come your way!

I want to wish you a lot of luck in whatever avenue you choose. Chin up and be positive!

  9. One doctor told me that grafts for a woman are placed differently than in men.

Like this / \ for women

Like this \ / for men

He said that you would not be happy with a woman's placement due to styling limitations,

That is, it would look like a woman's hair style on a man's head.

    Hello rev333,

Would you mind clarifying the difference in how hairs are placed between men and women? I did not quite understand your reason.

But would it not make sense to angle it like a woman's given that it would produce a more dense appearance? I say go for aesthetics.

I also wonder if there are cases in which men's procedures involved hairs placed like a woman's. Would like to see that.

  10. At 9 months to be honest I doubt there will be significant growth enough to mke a big impact, from my 9 months to 18 months I had a little growth but mainly the hair got thicker and matured.

    .

Well I thought the gold standard is usually 12 months. But there are cases where growth continues even to 24 months!

I still say the OP needs to wait. I am sure more density will come along his way. Think positive and be patient.

  11. This question doesn't really make sense. You might want to read a little bit more on the subject.

I do not follow. How does it not make sense. The question simply asks which creates more hair density. PRP and Acell both have shown to regrow hair. But I have not seen any info comparing the two as to which creates more hair density in the long run.

Does anyone else know? I would like to read your informed answers.

  12. has anybody heard of a case like mine?

i was pretty happy with my result until about 10-11 months post HT, when my TRANSPLANTED hairs started to fall out and have continued to fall out gradually ever since, now i'm at 14 months post HT and i have new gaps in my transplanted areas, which weren't there at 5-10 months post-op...

i am 100% sure it is TRANSPLANTED hairs because they are from areas right in the front and corners where i had NO native hair pre-op... and they are not miniturized thin little hairs, they are normal thick fully grown hairs...

i have no idea what is going on - i have no health issues... any advice/help/opinions?

    thanks!

    Hello hrvoje14,

To begin with I am so sorry to hear about your dilemma. Now I do agree with the second post that you need to contact your doctor before anything is done.

My question to you would be have you done anything to cause this fallout? Have you taken any medications or applied topical solutions? Perhaps you are exposed to something that is causing this issue tat you are unaware of.

At any rate I want to with you a lot of luck. Follow up and let us know what your doctor says.

PS., Has anyone experienced this problem before?
