  1. Whoever he is I hope he gets his 500 graft/cm2 dense transplant so he can stop highjacking threads of patient's who need conservative work, and stops pretending he knows more about hair restoration than all of us despite never having had a single procedure or uploading any pics.

    Hello hsrp,

I have long appreciated your comments on this forum and on my threads. But this is unbecoming of you. Stop feeding into hate. I do not appreciate that you wish bad on others like myself seeking help here. I am not here to prove myself to you or anyone. I am here to learn not insult.

That said I ask that we all stop the negativity and get back to helping others. That is what this forum is about. I think it is more productive that way.

  2. Also what is a 'celebrity'. Just because they claim to be a big Hollywood clinic doesn't mean they secretly fixed Ariana Grande's bald spot.

    Hello Transhair,

Thank you for the response. Just to let you know, the clinic is Alvi Armani in Beverly hills run by Dr. Baubac. Two people on the forum confirm that Dr. Baubac is legit. His reputation seems solid by industry awards he has won. Just want to gather more info from others to confirm this to make extra sure before making my decision.

P.S.... I think it was you who was discriminated by a clinic due to your health status. I hope your issue got resolved and the clinic learned not to discriminate anyone based on sex orientation or race. Hope you found a good clinic that finally has helped you. Good luck!

Anyone can make any kinds of claims. Unless they are showing you pictures of these celebrities that they have done then why would you believe them.

Besides that, lets assume they really are capable of performing great hair transplants. I would be insulted and no way would want them to perform a hair transplant on me if they told me I don't deserve to have a transplant as good as a celebrity because I'm not important enough. That alone would make me turn them down. If they are telling you right at the beginning that you aren't worth getting a great transplant because you are a lesser person, how can you trust them to care about you during and after the operation if they are telling you up front that they don't care enough about you?

    .

    Hello BeHappy,

Thank you for the response. Just to play devil's advocate, the doctor at the clinic is Dr. Baubac and a few people here said he was legit. But what you said does make sense also. As you can see now I am confused as to what to do. Strange predicament I find myself.

  3. FUT or FUE?

    Hi jcs,

Well that is the thing. When it come to FUT and FUE I want to know which is better for follicular survival. Recently I read that FUT may be better (although it is considered outdated by some clinics). So what is important to me is that grafts survive after extraction without dying post-op. What do you think?

  4. Hello everyone,

I talked to a clinic about transplants. The spokesperson said it provides 70 - 90 grafts/cm2 (sounds high). But he said hollywood celebrity patients get 100 - 120 grafts/cm2. I then asked if it is possible for a non-celebrity like myself to get 100 - 120 grafts/cm2. He said that graft count is reserved for celebrities who need to look good in movies without looking like their hair is "see-through". I was concerned about his reply because thinning hair is thinning hair no matter who you are, celebrity or not.

But he also said the clinic transplants 70 - 90 grafts/cm2 in one session. I like the clinic but I do not want to get stuck with a transplant that may turn out bad. Since they do celebrities they should have a good reputation - though they will not divulge which stars got work.

What do you gentlemen say about the high number of grafts? The high amount of grafts does sound very tempting. Should I go for it given they are a reputable clinic that also serves hollywood?

  5. . Can I also recommend you meet with both in person before you decide? That way they can evaluate your hair in person, and you will get a good gut feel as to which gameplan resonates best with you.

    Hello, mav23100gunther ,

Let us say that you consult with a doctor yet something in your gut tells you he may not be a good fit for you despite the fact that his results are excellent. Would you go withr your gut or results of his work?

  6. You left out Dr Wesley. I think Feller is probably the best in NY, but Wesley is worth a look. My advice to you, don't limit yourself to New York. I am a New Yorker, and travelled to Ottawa for my own 2nd procedure. I thought that the best surgeons for me were not in NY.

What is your opinion on Doctors Baubac and Erdogan in relation to H&W??

  7. I'm not sure I totally agree with this. The doctors do have a choice. They choose to use techs to save money and increase profit. Good for them, not good for unlucky customers who get an inexperienced or a less talented tech. .

That is a choice - and quite possibly a choice made to increase the # of surgeries they can perform and therefore the amount of money they can make

That was the same point I made.

  8. After serious thought I am heavily leaning towards not going ahead with the Turkish clinic.

I don't mind a team of techs being used for the procedure, but the fact the clinic runs 4 procedures in parallel and that the physician will only be in the room now and then to check up on me is something I can't get comfortable with.

I can respect that. But unfortunately given the large demand for these clinics the doctors have no choice but to hire a team of trained techs to do their work for them. I do agree with you wholeheartedly. It is the nature of the business now.

  9. In a similar situation and considering a lot of the same docs as you.

Konior is probably gonna be out of my price range though. I think Lupanzula is my current front-runner. Very solid results and not-terrible pricing

    .

    Hello jcs87,

Believe it or not I am also in that same boat. I do not know which to choose from among Dr. Baubac, Dr. Lorenzo, Do. Dorin, and Dr. Hasson.

Would like density above all else. Which would you recommend based on my need?

  10. Four months is still definitely the early days. I understand firsthand how frustrating it can be to wait, I am not the most patient person LOL.

    Hello Bill,

Sadly I know genetics play a huge part in hair transplant restoration. But could you tell me if they found out why one person may turn out to have a very good result while another may not given that they are both the same age, have same weight, hair type and build, same ethnicity, with same diet, etc etc etc?

  11. Guys,

I checked all the IP addresses and there is not a match.

I appreciate everyone looking out for the community, but let's not jump to conclusions.

    l

    Hello Bills,

Thank you for your help. This stig person keeps bothering and accusing me of being someone else. I came this forum to learn about hair restoration. I never insult anyone. Since you are moderator could you end this disruption? It is disorderly to the threads and I am sure others feel the same.

If stig would like maybe we could open a dialogue. Whoever the people he claims I am must have hurt him very deeply, I do not know for sure, just speculating. I am willing to extend my hand in friendship to him to help him. It is better to help one another than to fight over something I have nothing to do with. That is up to him of course. I am just a regular positive thinker.

Indeed thank you for you help and concern.

  12. This post from another forum sums it up and we discussed this before in your other thread.

Yes Sean seemed to like the doc but he remains affiliated with the clinic that most agree had harmed patients in the past.

    https://www.baldtruthtalk.com/threads/13127-My-quote-with-Dr-Armani

Cost of Surgery is 24k, HOWEVER, If I sign up in July or August , the price drops to 15k

Anyway, what is your goal? And do you have any pics you can post?

    Hello hsrp,

Yes! That is it! I was looking like a mad man for that thread. Appreciate it that greatly. Navigating through the forum is a bit difficult with many links even if it was my thread. I will bookmark it.

15K?? That is very steep. Very disconcerting. But is this the cost everyone pays regardless of the degree of their hairloss?

Answering your questions I do not know whether to go the FUE or FUT path. Yes I have read about them and know what they are. But I have not read enough about which method is best long term and that is very important to me. I do not want to dive into something that may not be maintainedd in the future. I want to be able to keep what is transplanted.

My camera is very old and not made for high resolution picture taking. Looking to buy one soon though. Soon as I do I will post here. Give me your honest opinion when I do. Appreciate this.

    Let me know your thought.

  13. Sorry I'm not clear on the current state of your hairline (but will try to relook again anyway) but I wouldn't lower the hairline in order to plan properly for future hair loss, but you could transplant into your existing hair for added density boost though.

Both Konior (stick and place technique) and Shapiro excel at that.

Also stay away from Artas and robotic fue, and go with manual FUE if you choose FUE.

The docs you mention do manual FUE which is already a good start. As KO mentioned there are more affordable manual FUE options in Europe.

That is fine, I can accept that. Just keep in mind that all I am doing is offering him help from a different angle. I did not know to what depth his current condition was given his norwood.

Konior is fine. Bernstein would also help "stretch" out the grafts over the area to create that illusion of coverage. As to density I leave that up to him to decide if he wants to go down that route or reserve if for later on with another doctor with expertise in that area.

After reading up on ARTAS I do agree that it is still too early in this tech to go in wuith that method. Manual is still the better choice over it.

  14. Yeah but this not your thread, OP should go conservative in consideration of future hair loss.

I don't think an aggressive approach is best here.

There is no such thing as ownership of a thread. Threads are made for public members to opine on, they are not property. OP should be given all the opinions and info offered to him so he can personalize a solution to meet his needs not anyone else's.

  15. All three doctors are great, but I feel each is best at Strip surgery. Konior is great, and well respected on the forums, and of the three I prefer him, but he has a long waitlist of about a year. Have you considered traveling abroad or are you planning on staying in NA? FUE is pretty expensive here.

ARTAS is really interesting. While it started out as a harvesting tool, it actually now makes recipient site incisions as well (!). It may well be the future of surgery, but I personally am not 100% comfortable in going with it now. What's also unclear to me is how ARTAS results differ from surgeon to surgeon...does it commoditize the surgeon? I'm not sure. Personally, I'd like the technology to continue maturing...

    Hello KO,

I looked at Konior's results. He seems like a good doctor but he does not add enough density as other doctors do. Additionally I reviewed Rahal and noticed that he chooses to do safe cases. In other words, he works on patients who are not that bald. Sort of like "cheating" if you will.

As to ARTAS, I am not fond with the tech either. On the few sites that I looked at, the results looked far from impressive. The tech leaves much to be desired at this point. Could you recommend a few doctors who perform ARTAS well?

  16. I don't know, but I was just telling you why you won't find much info here. Maybe you can look at other forums. I'm not familiar with his work to comment...

IMO, don't get obsessed with one surgeon...there is no "chosen one" or one perfect surgeon. There are a lot of good clinics out there today.

    Hello KO,

Yes I am quite aware of this as well. Honestly I am not obsessed with one doctor. But I am very fond with just a few doctors who have impressed me so far. Dr. Baubac is one of them. Yet I want to remain cautious and get as much info as I can about him before I make my decision to see him as my doctor. It is the best I can do.

  17. milo12 - why don't you start a thread where you can post your photos, so people have a good idea of what you are looking for. I think posters will be able to help you in your decision. I saw you have a thread but no photos.

    Hello KO,

Sure. I will do that. Need to find a good camera for that. My current camera is a bit old. No problem KO.

  18. ^Konior, Shapiro, Gabel, Hasson and Wong. Which is basically the consensus view here...

    Hello KO,

Appreciate the reply. And if you do not mind, could you please answer my question about Dr. Baubac? Is he as good as H&W and Konior? The reason I ask is because I feel he is the doctor for me. But if you have any reservations about him please let me know.

  19. Nope, no particular order. I have not researched those clinics as I looked primarily into European FUE clinics. But if I was staying in NY, I'd probably start by looking at those names. Not promoting them, just a pond to fish from...

So who in your opinion are the best FUT doctors whether in USA or anywhere else in the world?
