  1. Hey fellas someone told me a while ago that if you are thinning, it is important to always wash it in cold water to keep your hair thick. Is this true? Been washing it in cold water for the longest but I was never sure if this is the right thing to do.

    Hi primomusic,

I too have read this. But the cold water is more for maintaining scalp from what I read. I do not know if this is a proven fact or not. Years ago I read about some study about this. Do not ask me for a link because I do not remember and this was years ago. Try googling it and see what comes up. Good luck

  2. Milo my comment was directed towards you, you have been disruptive, you have been passive aggressive, you have mentioned you are in your 50's yet your profile says 1980 which would make you 36/37, you have been caught in multiple lies. Frankly, I don't find your behavior acceptable, this will be the last time I address you or any of your questions and I hope my fellow HRN members do the same, every time you disrupt a thread with one of your own questions I will report you.

I really do not know what you are talking about or where your anger is coming from. You got me completely in the dark! How I manage info on my profile is my privacy concern in which case I do not have to answer to you or anyone for it. Be concerned with your own life not anyone else's. Why would anyone waste their time to lie about hair transplants?? What a ridiculous statement! Report all you want. But you will have no grounds to since I have done nothing wrong to anyone.

It is one thing to safely insult others online but quite another when asked to explain yourself. Do NOT come on any of my threads or respond to me. If you do I will be reporting you for disruptive trolling.

People like you who are this negative will not have their hair last long.

  3. Milo, a word of advice. It is extremely insensitive when you keep on asking posters if they plan to add grafts to areas that lack density, especially seeing you have been bringing it up to posters who haven't even been asking for options on the matter. I agree that it's appropriate to mention it when someone specifically asks for that feedback, but you keep bringing it up to posters like David and me who are both perfectly happy with our results. Quite frankly, I didn't even ask you for your opinion on mine. The reality is that very few HT candidates have enough lifetime donor supply to achieve this perfect full density you are chasing, especially the higher NWs. I have to accept that my crown will always be see through. Sure, you have HTsoon who is an incredible success story, but he is the exception rather than the norm for a higher NW being able to get the coverage and density he got/is getting.

    Hello mav23100gunther,

Excuse my unaware lack of sensitivity. Truthfully I did not realize I was making others uncomfortable with the same question. My intention was to find out the possibility of adding more density to a previous transplant that failed to achieve an expected, dense enough result, that is all. This is why I posed the same question to various people to ascertain what direction they were headed in their quest for more density. Currently I want to reach excellent results while seeking opinions on options that may add more density in the future in case a transplant may not provide adequate density. Hope you understand my dilemma. Hair loss is far more damaging than one imagines.

Thank you for bringing this out into the light for me. In the future I will try to modify or “censor” my questions before asking them. Appreciate your presence on this forum. You have helped me move towards my goals. For that I personally thank you. Have a great week!

  4. I couldn't really comment because I wouldn't be comfortable traveling to Turkey etc. Your list strikes me as a little bit strange. One is an expensive Western clinic, the others are far cheaper Turkish clinics with differing levels of patient posted results.

My issue with Erdogan is that he quotes too many grafts, but in this case his estimate matches the others. Additionally, his work looks quite consistent with plenty of patient posted results and not much negative feedback. If I was limiting myself to Turkey and wanted to do a lot of grafts, I'd probably be comfortable with his team.

    Hello KO,

Thank you for your input. Traveling to Turkey makes me uncomfortable also. But I guess it is the price to pay.

Erdogan is on my short list of doctors. Just want to make the right intelligent decision if I see him. Traveling to and room and board in turkey is cheap though. I need to make my decision soon because the more time I waste the worse I end up hair wise.

  5. It depends on the thickness of your donor hair. If you are already depleted, do fut, and end up with donor shockloss, then the scar may show more or you may have halos in the back of your head.

    Hi Sean,

I never heard of donor shock loss. Never thought the donor area could get shocked out of existence. So you are saying that if your donor area is depleted from many good follicles due to a previous transplant, doing a follow-up FUT may ensue donor shock loss? And this type of shock loss occurs when the first transplant depletes the donor area of much of its follicles?

  6. Hello friends…

I might be too old for these treatments to work now?

    !

    Hello JWard,

There are many older gentlemen who have had great hair transplant procedures done. Believe it or not the best hair transplant procedure I have ever seen was done on an older person in his upper 60s!

56 is not old trust me! Get your feet wet and try out a transplant. You got nothing to lose but more hair if you think about it. Do research options.

For example, I am asking guys here who have had transplants done if they need more transplants. Why? Because I want to know if I get one myself that I am able to get another transplant to add density. Adding density to a thinning area that has already been transplanted previously is important for me. This is my goal.

Good luck. You will do fine!

  7. Hsrp it's obvious we are dealing with someone who has issues far beyond hair loss, the best way to deal with this is to ignore it, the more we respond the more it keeps coming back, if you don't entertain the ridiculous questions and backhanded passive aggressive comments, then it'll go away eventually, spread the word.

    Hello HTsoon,

I got to disagree with you. Jroze posed a good question about FUE. I do not see anything wrong with it nor does he exude issues beyond hairloss. No offense but if you are not satisfied with his thread you should not comment on it. Just remember he is suffering from the same issue you face with hairloss. Everyone here is in the same boat.

The best thing to do? Support everyone regardless of their situation. Again we are in the same boat. No one here is better than anyone else regardless of skin color, ethnicity or type of questions asked. So let us help one another in positive spirit. Hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  8. Milo no disrespect, but why won't you post any pictures? You keep asking the community to share their pics with you and now you want Sean to help you, but it becomes impossible to do so if you don't post any pics. Let's see some pics, or should we just use the ones Stig posted?

    Hello mav23100gunther,

No offense taken whatsoever. I highly appreciate the question. There are two reasons for this. One, I got an old camera with poor resolution. Will be upgrading that. And two and more importantly, I embarrass myself and get nervous when looking at my scalp. Years ago I had a good set of hair, no complaints. But now I try to avoid the mirror believe it or not. Yes, it has gotten that bad.

But you are right about that. And no I am not stigs. I do not know who that person is or was. There is someone here saying I am this person or the other. But I am not.

When I scoop up the bravery of looking at my scalp and taking photos I will post them.

  9. Hi guys,

I recently had a consultation with Dr Bisanga in London. Although I am NW6, he suggested I would be a suitable candidate for FUE.

However I have now decided that I want to go for FUT and this has been agreed as an option for me also with Dr B.

    y

    Hello Gary,

Just curious but why did you change your mind and decide to go with FUT?

  10. I've had 2 FUE surgeries (4000 grafts) and I'm not on meds. I didn't have shockloss and it hasn't affected my hair in a negative way.

    Hi aWidowsPeek,

It is good you did not experience shock loss. I saw your before and after photos. The temple areas appear well. Was wondering if you thought of getting another transplant to add density in the front and middle part of your scalp. Reason I ask is because I notice guys who have had FUE transplants that resulted in very sparse and thin areas in the front and middle. It would be interesting to know if one can get thinning areas covered. I want to make sure that if I get a transplant that I am able to follow up with another in the same area with little risk to existing hair.

Hope to speak with you soon. Good luck!

  11. Milo, i wasnt referring to Dr Baubac. I think his yield is up there.

Some docs 3000 grafts results are still not as good as one doc that may use 1500 grafts. I think many factors can cause that. Dense packing with a large number of grafts for a single day procedure without an ideal surgical protocol is risky.

    Hello sean,

Thanks for the input. Today I will be in touch with Baubac's clinic to ask him questions. When I get my answers I will let you know what he said. That way you could help guide me into whether or not he is the right doctor for me or not. Thanks.

  12. IMO Erdogan is the one doctor that I see consistent work from, Feriduni I haven't seen a result from him in a while much less an actual patient review, Yaman I have seen some impressive results, but if I was to choose from those three it would definitely be Erdogan.

    Hello HTsoon,

I saw your thread where you said you got FUE from Diep. In your opinion who is better at creating more density, Diep or Erdogan? If you had to start all over again, which of these doctors would have gone to?

Would you have gotten FUT or FUE?

  13. Both Nioxin and Nizoral have been around for many years. IMHO, Nioxin is a good product for cleansing and invigorating the scalp.

Nizoral claims to have DHT blockers however to my knowledge there are no clinical studies to verify this claim.

    .

    Hello gillenator,

As far as I researched into Nizoral there are sites that claim it blocks DHT. But these sites are not affiliated with the company that manufactures it. It is a coin toss I believe.

  14. I had a great experience with Dr. Bhatti. As I mentioned, it's all documented in my hair loss website or you can check out my thread, Dr. Tejinder Bhatti: 2412 FUE on February 23, 2015.

mikey already did a great job of summing up the "why Chandigarh?" question. Not really that far from Delhi and known as a clean and safe city. Really a lovely place.

    Hello David,

    I see. Appreciate the reply!

  15. No doubt prices are cheaper for Dr Erdogan. But the number of grafts to reach a result are questionable. Some cases of 4000+ grafts seem disproportionate to the area of scalp covered. The yield is not high like most docs in some cases. Some patients I know went back twice to get dense result by separating procedures.

Dr Baubac does produce high dense yielding results.

    Hello sean,

I forgot to say something. You mentioned Baubac's number of grafts to reach a result are questionable. Could you explain this? I am very interested in Baubac but trying to be cautious even though he operates in Beverly Hills and is well known by celebs. But still I want to have an open mind but be safe too.
