  1. 50-70 is a broad range, if you're closer to 50 then you have fine hair, if you're closer to 70 then you have medium coarse hair. Just by looking at your hair I would say you're probably closer to 50 but that's just my guess.

The crown is something that may have to be left as is, even in my own case, these are just the realities.

4,200 grafts covered over a large area was never going to give full density, I think where your at right now is to be expected, especially since you mention your head is rather large, all of these things are variables, head size, hair caliber, hair texture, you have two things going for you that you're not taking advantage of:

    1. Curly hair

    2. White hair

Curly hair grown out would create more visual density because it would block light from reflecting off of the scalp, in addition the color contrast of white scalp and white hair is minimal so those are two things I would be taking advantage of if I were you, to be honest I know how to work with what I got, the way I style my hair and the length I keep it really makes a world of difference, you just need to find that sweet spot of style and length your current is not working to be honest.

I got about 7,800 hairs (4,217 grafts) in an area of 120 cm2. That should give about 65 hairs per cm2 (or 35 grafts per cm2).

Right now I got nowhere close to that, especially not close to the crown.

I got 4 more months of growing left, so at least there's a tiny but of hope.

But this is not good growth for 8 months IMO

  2. you have to remember that with fine hair caliber to achieve visual density it may take more grafts

What makes you think I have fine caliber hair?? I thought my caliber at 50 to 70 microns was average??

I also think that the crown may have to be left as is or very light coverage if any. These are the realities of transplantation with advanced stages of hair loss

This is why I was eying a part beardhair/part scalphair transplant for my crown.

But now Lorenzo has scared me off that :(

I have less density towards the back too, that's what im going to get fixed in two weeks, remember dutchie your case was never going to be a one and done, you may need another two surgeries to achieve the desired result. However, thus far you have significant improvement you should feel good about

That we can agree on. I think I might need 2 more after this one.

I was just expecting a bit more hair around the crown though. Its really, really thin right now

  3. You didn't get any hairs transplanted in the crown, so why would you expect new growth in those areas.?

I dont mean the actual crown, I mean the area between the crown and midscalp is hardly coming through

From what I see, there is growth in the areas that were transplanted when you compare your results to the very first pics in page one

Thats mostly frontscalp and partial midscalp

  4. Have you tried growing the top longer? at that length to have good visual density you would need like 9,000 grafts. Remember hair transplantation is all about blocking light from hitting the scalp, maybe try the slicked back look.

Any top down and crown shots you could share?

Growing the top longer than the sides doesnt work on people with naturally curly hair, it looks very strange and uneven.

And 9,000 grafts I dont have, I have maybe 3,000 left in the bank.

The most disturbing part is the midscalp and crown just arent coming through at all.

    Only very sparse hairgrowth

  5. I had around 350 beard grafts taken from under my chin about a year ago. I don't have any visible scarring in that area unless you really get up close in the right light, but even then I can't tell if what I do see are from the grafts that were removed or if they are from shaving. I'm planning on using more beard hair grafts later this month. The beard hair that has grown started out much more wiry and curly than my head hair, but it calms down after a year or so and I can't tell the difference now. It actually grows longer and faster than my head hair.

I also used around 1000 chest hair grafts. The marks from those are slightly more visible than the beard area, but not enough to be noticed by anyone unless they get close to me and are looking for them. I did walk on the beach this Summer with no shirt and I didn't even have to think about it. The chest hair grows slightly thinner and slightly more wiry than the beard hair, but this also straightens out and falls mostly in line with my head hair after a while as well. It also grows very long too. I can still feel a small difference between the chest hair and my scalp hair at this point, but it seems mostly on the ends of the hair now, so I think after another hair cut there will no longer be a noticeable difference

    2 questions, please:

    1. Who was your BHT doctor??

    2. Do you mind showing us some pics??

  6. I have never seen beard hair live. From what I see it seems quite positive but unless I see a few people in person I don't want to call it successful. My biggest concern is for someone that is clean cut whether the dots will be visible. I don't picture any doctor that can guarantee you wont see the dots. If the dots are exposed then you appearance will be comprised forever

But wont those dots eventually heal though?? Or are those little scars that last forever??

  7. I have seen 3-4 body hair transplants in person. Honestly I wasn't impressed at all. The hair doesn't look natural and almost appears almost like a pubic hair. One guy received 7000 grafts and probably just over half grew. Although there was a cosmetic difference it didn't look natural compared to the photos I saw before I met him. He spend around $70K and wasn't happy at all. I even met an old poster named Poet. Although he was probably the best one I saw but it was only 900-1200 in the crown if I remember correctly. Everyone had dots on their body, some better than others, others were able to cover it up with other body hair. One guy if I remember correctly told me for two years he wouldn't go to the beach because he hated people starting at this dots on his chest.

I was pretty excited before I saw body hair thinking that if I ever needed it I could use mine. After seeing results in person I would never get it done ever if I was paid to do it. My opinion is based on what I saw

But what about just beardhair as a filler amongst scalphair on the crown?? Wouldnt that look okay since its the crown anyways, and people dont really look there.

So lets say 2,000 grafts on the crown, of which 1,000 grafts are regular scalphairs and the other 1,000 are beardhairs

  8. ^^^^ I gotta agree with HTsoon there, from all the videos and before/after pics I seen Dr. Umar is head and shoulders above everyone else (when it comes to BHT).

There's a reason why this forum recommends him.

He also seems to have some kind of patented uGraft (whatever the hell that is).

If you watch his videos, it does make sense what he says.

Go to youtube and search for Umar and you'll see some of his results
