This is painful
You're not kidding! Trust me!!!

Believe me Dutchie he will be more than a Norwood 6, he's only begun his hair loss journey, his safe zone is impossible to know since he could lose a lot more hair in his 20's. Add the fact that no transplant is guaranteed, if a failed transplant is hard for a 50 year old to deal with imagine being 20. I think he'd be overall more satisfied with a hair system and there's less risk involve
You're probably right.
I just like to think maybe Dr. Umar can work his miracles and stuff

Don??? How did the Cottrell thing work out???
We need more information. Like, is this guy another con artist, or is he OK??
-
So, I guess I'll be the negative Nancy in the room.
Have you thought about a hair system? Google northwest lace forum and check that out.
Also, Google sly bald guys forum. This is for guys that shave their head and also for moral support.
I believe both of these forums are currently a better place for you. If you want hair, only a system will get you the density of someone in their teens and twenties that you are looking for (with your level of hair loss). There are plenty of guys that are young and have been helped there.
The only way to live a "care free" life (as hair systems are not) is to bite the bullet and shave it. The sly bald guy forum is great for guys in your situation for support. They teach confidence there as well.
If you are insistent on a transplant, which I believe you are not a good candidate due to age and aggressive nature of your loss, you really need to be on a dht inhibitor imo.
Either way, good luck to you
HUH????????? Spanker, are you drunk (not that there's anything wrong with that)???????

Right whenever the clinic advises you to.
This can vary. But usually you're good to go after 4 to 6 weeks or so.
Some clinics even say after 15 days its okay

Cheers Lorenzo, I brought a few blonde-haired Dutch girls ITT to hopefully make you feel a little bit better.
Thought you might like them........LOL. Cheers
Thats the best I can do right now in my inebriated state........LOL.
Cheers!!!

You're right. I've always known that i'd at least need 2 HTs. How many grafts do u think is reasonable for someone who undergo 2 hts? For example: first surgery: 2400 grafts. Second surgery: 2400 again. So 4800 grafts in total?
Hard to say from those pics because I dont know what your hair density is (hairs per cm2).
My guess is you're probably close, around 4,500 to 6,000 grafts. Somewhere in between.
It depends if you wanna do your crown or leave it alone.
It also depends how high up you wanna do your hairline.
Some guys are perfectly happy leaving their crown alone, and looking from your pics you dont look to be a severe Norwood 6 (somewhere between a NW5 and a NW6, although its hard to tell from just a few images).
You also have good lateral humps, which will decrease the amount of grafts you need midscalp.
All in all I think you'll be a good HT candidate.
So life is good, dont jump off a cliff and kill yourself just yet

Prince dead, Georgie dead. Part of my childhood is now also dead

Undetectable hairline. Great work

The good news is from looking at the top of your head you seem to have a fairly narrow bald scalp.
This is good, because that would require less grafts then someone has a very wide, rounded scalp
What I meant by wide, rounded scalp is something like this:
The more curve, the more real estate a transplant has to cover.
You dont have that though, so thats good
-
I'd have to say you're headed for a Norwood 6. Thats the bad news.
The good news is from looking at the top of your head you seem to have a fairly narrow bald scalp.
This is good, because that would require less grafts then someone has a very wide, rounded scalp.
You also seem to have good colour contrast (darker scalp, dark hair).
I'd say overall you're a good candidate for a HT, and I would go see a reputable doctor ASAP.
You will for sure need 2 transplants though

Dutchie I never had an issue with you. I understand your emotion and frustration, I misunderstood your comment about subpar results and once I understood you were talking about the industry as a whole I complete agree. I am posted on your post to give you support not to protect Hasson and Wong. I guess with all the meds I am on I can get emotional and probably just need a break
I totally understand bro. If I had cancer I would be grumpy as hell too.
I'd probably a lot more grumpier than you actually.
How about Conte over at Chelsea, though?? Doing an amazing job with what I think isnt THAT great of a team.
Yes they have some superstars but they also have some weak links, yet they're in 1st place.
Pretty amazing

After consideration I have decided to close my account and no longer post on HTN. As many of you know I am recovering from the second cancer diagnosis and do not need any negativity in my life anymore.
I opened my account in 2003 and have posted over 1000 posts. My intentions were to help posters with my opinion and give my advise. I have never been paid to post or asked to post. I fight hard for this website because I believe in it and seen alot negativity in the transplant industry. I want to thank the moderator, Bill and Pat for having this website that educated people and allows them to make the right decision. I have never hid my affiliations with Hasson and Wong even though it is in a translation capacity. I do not need to be accused of being paid to post or being biased.I don't need my integrity challenged. My posts in the past have almost nothing to do with Hasson and Wong. .I was there to help and it was my pleasure to do so. I answer alot of email from people as well as private message.. I will seize to do so in the future.
Thank to everyone and I wish everyone good luck in making the right decision..
Jeezus Christ Lorenzo, no JUST NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I never once questioned your integrity!!
The reason why these forums exist is because people can post their different experiences.
Mine isnt so good right now, but it probably pales in comparison to what you're going through at the moment.
Cancer is a bitch!!! My mom went through it, and I wish you all the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look on the bright side, you didn't lose any grafts and the ones that are in the wrong position are all fixable.
Its just gonna cost you a lot of money. That's all
-
I don't think anybody really knows the answer to that question.
But I am convinced all the clinics know that some of their hair transplants are going to fail, and they don't really know what to do about it, or how to prevent it
-
Talked with Gupta , he said since was done prior to his takeover of the company , he won't do anything .
I did had a few hundred hairs placed in front
When I saw you in person I think you're gonna do okay, Don.
You werent very dense up front, but you werent very thin either.
I think when you get everything to thicken up a bit on all sides of the scalp (front-scalp and mid-scalp), you're gonna be a winner.
Thats just my $0.02 cents worth.
Take it for whats its worth. I dont care
-
Wow, thats interesting. I had no idea the range of time could be that different for each individual patient
-
Holy crap, thats way too long.
Somebody needs to invent a hair speeder-upper
-
Dr. Boxham, could you please tell us approximately how long it takes for a single hair to fully mature from the day it sprouts out of the skin, to the day it has fully matured.
Are we talking 4 weeks or so, or many months??
(thanks in advance)
-
Uploaded some hairline pics let me know what you think!
Do you want an honest opinion?? It looks a bit pluggy IMO.
The good news however is that a good surgeon can easily fix that, and I dont think it would cost very much
-
He's not a recommended dr, but he never did the surgery. The dr who did left and no longer practicing HT. Dr Gupta has bought over the clinic . The techs are still the same
This is just a guess on my part, but if dr. Gupta didnt own the clinic at the time of your surgery, there's no way he's gonna refund you any money.
And just for reference, here we have yet another transplant that appears to be a partial failure.
Gotta wonder how many more of these are out there
-
Yeh, he's a nice guy, but in end it's all about the wrk. Will have to see what happens in 6 months to see if he was worth it.Do a consult with him, see what he says about your wrk
I'm happy for you, bro.
My transplant so far sucks a bag of shit. Such is life
-
Exact grafts was 2760. Not sure bout hair count but was told average 2.2 hairs, so guess close 6k
Thats well over 6,000 hairs. Which is good.
How was dr. Coterill after surgery?? Was he supportive??
Give us some more info
-
Credit to HTsoon. Great way to handle things.
I did the same with dr. Hasson yesterday. Very cordially, never raised my temper or said anything mean, and yet I still got my point across that I wasnt happy with my transplant

The people that really piss me off are the ones who say: "just suck it up. Deal with it".
Yeah, wait till it happens to you, fuckstick!
