You only have so many thousand donor hairs left before the entire back of your head starts to look extremely depleted (or thinned out).
You will need to post pics of all your 4 HT's, but it sounds like you got bad results all the way through. You also need to find a really good clinic so you can utilize your last grafts as best as possible (depending on your Norwood, I would say you dont have many grafts left)
-
Do the BHT with dr. Umar and use it as a filler to fill in the front, and you're done
-
Edit : last pic 12 days post op so you can see where grafts were placed
Wow, thats a great HT. You're a lucky dog
-
Having seen you in person, and based on that pic which makes you look like a Norwood 5-ish.
I'd say between 2,500 and 3,000 grafts.
If I were you I'd put all those grafts up front and midscalp, and then let dr. Umar do his BHT with the crown.
And then you're done!!

Dutchie, sorry to see the result so far. It really breaks my heart. I hope you will be able to get to the bottom of why this happened and perhaps find a solution to fix it. We are all rooting for you and hope you will come back and inform us. At least you went to a reputable clinic so won't have to live the rest of your life with the what if question as far as clinics are concerned. Good luck mate!
Thanks. You guys (and girls) on this forum have been a tremendous support
Is there a list of conditions that might interfere with HTs. I would want to get a simple biopsy before I fork over 1000s for a transplant
I dont know, but one thing I do know for sure is I dont have any skin diseases or auto-immune disorders that might interfere with a transplant.
I just had a physical done last month and everything was in top shape except for my cholesterol which was a tiny bit too high. So now I'm taking garlic and guggulipid to see if I can bring it down somewhat

I hope this puts another nail in the ARTAS coffin.
I dont trust that machine at all
-
The good news is you look to be about a Norwood 5, so you'll have plenty of donor hair to get a good result

Doug at H&W has been great!!! Couldnt have been nicer.
This man needs the "United States Medal of Public Relations"!!
He's on another level!!!!!!
Okay, so they dont issue "US Medals of Public Relations".
But so what, Doug should earn one!!! LOL!!!!

I also hope that anyone reading this thread understands that no surgeon or surgery is fail proof, no procedure is fail proof, I think that's the biggest take away here and you've done a good thing documenting it for others, IMO there's sometimes to much hype around a certain surgeon or procedure i.e. FUT or FUE that we lose sight of this real possibility, regardless of who you choose to perform your surgery or what procedure you choose. Again, this is not directed towards Dr. Hasson as I think he has more than enough proof that indicates he's a good surgeon but rather I'm directing it towards the industry as a whole
Absolutely spot on. I really dont have anything more to add to that

Dutchie, would it be possible to see a pic of your current state of growth?
This is my most recent one:

So I just had a very productive phone talk with Doug from H&W.
He acknowledged that perhaps things could have been handled better from both sides, which is true.
If there's no improvement over next 4 weeks or so, I'm going to fly to Vancouver on my own expense, and have Dr. Hasson take a look at my scalp. Maybe we can come to some kind of amicable resolution that leaves both parties happy
-
I went to an award winning coalition surgeon with whom I had a good consult with a year prior.
I thought I had picked a winner, but turns out, nope
I feel for you, baby
((((hugs))))

AB2000,
You can buy Rogaine on Ebay now.
Just letting you know

Quick 1 year update.
Minimal growth, no aesthetic difference in hair density compared to before.
Overall a very negative chapter in my life and a waste of 1800 grafts that I'll never see again
Which clinic did you get it done??
EDIT: never mind, I see it now.
No offence Transhair, but these transplants are dicey to begin with (I should know, I supposedly went to a "top clinic".......LOL). You're just adding to the whole Russian Roulette thing when you go to one of these foreign countries

Its amazing what hair systems they can do nowadays. Totally undetectable, and a very natural hairline:

How long does shock loss last for ? Any way to reduce it?
Anywhere from 3 months to 9 months usually.
I had a tiny bit of shock loss where my strip was taken, and it took a good 6 months before it regrew.
Dont worry about it. I'm 90% sure it will come back
-
Looks like classic shock loss to me. That will most likely grow back
-
I have also been on suicide watch several times because of this
Let me just say I know EXACTLY what you're going through, and we'll leave it at that,
Suicide will solve nothing. Dont even think about it!!
You will also hurt your family and loved ones TREMENDOUSLY when you take your own life, so please dont do it!!

He is a acandidate only if his mpb stabilizes. If he was 40, that would be one thing, but 19 is another. The walls can fall...Finasteride and probably dutasteride is a must for an HT. Has op ruled out meds?
Yeah but who cares aboot the crown???
He should have enough grafts to fill up the midscalp, and perhaps bleed a little towards the crown.
Other then that I think he's an excellent HT candidate.
I have NO IDEA what you guys are going aboot, and why you're bringing this guy down with your negativity!
('m not saying you guys are doing it intentionally, but you are doing it)
-
Are you guys kidding me???????
He's an excellent Norwood 6 candidate, because of his lateral humps.
It all depends what his density is like, if its average he should have a decent result.
I can't believe some of the negative comments I'm reading here lately
-
Believe me Dutchie he will be more than a Norwood 6, he's only begun his hair loss journey, his safe zone is impossible to know since he could lose a lot more hair in his 20's. Add the fact that no transplant is guaranteed, if a failed transplant is hard for a 50 year old to deal with imagine being 20
I hear you bro. BTW I'm on my 12th vodka right now, so take my post FWIW......LOL
I have to against the grain here and say he's a really good NW6 candidate.
Just look at his lateral humps!! Move the hairline north, and for about 5,000 to 6,000 grafts I thinks he's good to go, dammit!!

I think he'd be overall more satisfied with a hair system and there's less risk involved. If he decides he doesn't want to wear a hair system he can shave his head and move on with no scars
HTsoon, I have to respectfully disagree.
I think with the lateral humps he has, a good surgeon can come up with a fairly decent, good result.
Its gonna take a lot of work though

This is why I've been saying all along, lets give it the full 2 years before I waste my money on a plane ticket to B.C.
If it still looks like crap by February 2018 I think we can safely assume its a done deal
