  1. I agree with Htsoon. He always gives great advice especially for younger people. Don't rush into anything you might regret later. Nobody is saying you are not a candidate but at your age it's hard to tell where you will end up. Hair loss can turn aggressive at any time. You are doing the right thing by trying the meds but at some point they may not have efficiency anymore. Don't put too much stock in what your brothers hair loss is. My brothers have completely different hair patterns than I do. You are not a lost cause so don't think that is what we are saying. You should start meeting with doctors that have ethics and won't steer you in the wrong way.

  2. The sad thing is doctors tell patients that two percent of people get side effects. That is a complete lie. The numbers are much greater. Everyone I personally know has gotten side effects from it. I still think meds are important when considering surgery but who knows what this stuff is really doing to us. I got severe brain fog when I started taking it and loss of libido. I cut the dose in half have had no sides now but I wonder what it is doing to me long term. I honestly think in time it will be one of those drugs you see in those late night infomercials with lawyers seeking compensation for messed up people. It's sad there is no alternative to this.

  3. Makes sense. I get it. I used the time off to travel-something I'd planned for awhile otherwise might have opted for similar.

Did Konior explain the 2500 # limit?

Just a guess here but I know doing the no shave makes it more tedious for the doctor. Since Dr K does basically the entire procedure himself from star to finish it would make it all that more tedious and fatigue could become an issue.

  4. Thank you, gillenator.

When I go to a hair transplant surgeon, all I need to do is request a microscopic exam of my donor area and that will tell me what I have to work with?

Yes that is correct. It's all about supply and demand. You need to have the right amount of good hair in the donor area to replace the areas of loss.

  5. Not surprised you had problems with Diep and a skype consult. My personal experience there was not a good one. I think he does really good work but the office is a mess and needs a drastic change. I did not have a procedure there so I am not talking negatively about the surgery but the office is a mess and led me to go else where.

  6. Who knows it could be his hairline but if it's smp it looks great. Nothing is worse than what Carlos Boozer did a few years ago with his paint on hair. If you don't know about that google it.I don't know how he kept a straight face with that on his head.

  7. I think Dr Bhatti has given you the best advice. He sees this on a regular basis so I believe what he says. Without meds your future loss is a guarantee . I would think long and hard about going down this road of getting a procedure without meds. Don't let anyone online here or any online consult decide what you do. Meet with doctors in person and be evaluated. Educate yourself as much as you can then make the smart choice.

  8. The list I mentioned above is basically a top 8-10 surgeons in the world. Other great ones too obviously. I encourage you to speak with as many as possible.

The Wesley fee is purely a New York thing. Speaking as a New Yorker. Most consults are free. Time is money though, I dont blame them, but $250 is aggressive.

Wesley is a really good doctor but I agree 250 is aggressive. But he might apply that money to the cost of surgery if you choose to go with him like some others do.

Unlike Bauman in Boca Raton where it feels like you get charged the second you pull in the parking lot . They nickle and dime you for everything.

  9. Harebrained this clinic or what we choose to call a house of horrors has really affected some of us on here. It is one of the worst things I have ever seen. It needs to be shut down. The only good thing is that Sanjar has been chosen for a free transplant from Dr Mohebi. I really respect Dr. Mohebi for his compassion . This will not be an easy case . It's really nice to see there are people out there that care about people. I feel for all of the others that have been butchered by this nightmare of a place. Best thing we can do is keep these threads open so someone that googles it will see it and avoid it.

  10. They are both great doctors well respected and won't steer you wrong. Most shock loss grows back but like I said if you have hairs on they way out meaning shrunken hair it won't. Just google and research it so you get a better understanding of it. Wish you the best my friend.
