  1. Just curious, if you don't mind sharing, what dose are you taking now? And I know you said you have no sides, but are you seeing discernible results in terms of hair maintenance or regrowth?

I've been considering trying fin, going daily for a few months to stop loss and hopefully get some new growth, and then cutting back to a partial dose, like 3 days a week, or something, and just seeing if there's a sweet spot where I can get good maintenance on minimum usage, coupled with other things such as certain shampoos, vitamins, et al

But I'm still uncertain, for all the reasons we've been discussing here with sides/long term/etc etc.

I originally was doing 1mg a day got sides so I quit. I cut the dose down to half .5mg 3 days a week let my body get use to it. I now take 1mg three days a week. My hair in the crown and vertex looks thicker and healthier than when I started.

  2. Problem with this drug is that there are no long term studies done on what it does to you. I started taking it everyday had massive sides. Every person I know in person other than one has had really bad sides so the reports are bs. I cut the dose way down and have no sides but who knows what this is really doing to us? I have also posted many times that without taking meds a transplant for many is like throwing a bag of money in a fireplace. I still believe this but who knows what the cost is? My doctor warned me there are certain companies that sell the generic that should be avoided. The FDA in the United States is a joke. How many commercials do you see daily where lawyers are suing drug companies for screwing people up bad? All I know is when I was doing this drug daily I was in total tunnel vision. I drove 25 miles past where I needed to go and could not figure where I was at. I would maybe expect this while drinking or doing crack but a hair loss drug? This scared the hell out of me . I had blood work done drug was really taking a toll on my kidneys. Since I cut the dose no sides had another blood panel done and fine but who knows? It's a personal decision each person needs to make.

  3. Rashid you are lucky Bisanga is ethical and honest. There are a ton of bad doctors out there that would simply have taken your money and left you with the bad result. I would trust him because he doesn't want to mess you up for the sake of money. Trust in his final decision in a year. Wish you the best.

  4. Honestly you're not a good candidate for a crown restoration, you're 29 years old, typically most surgeons don't want to perform the surgery till at least 35 years of age but some won't do it till you're 40.

From the photos i can tell that you're destined to be Norwood 5-6, basically all of the hair on the top is miniaturized you have diffuse hair loss, I know I have the same type of hair loss, often we underestimate our baldness because of the hairline, but make not mistake about it you will have extensive balding down the line. Keeping finasteride will certainly help delay it, but inevitably the top will go.

In hair restoration you have to really think critically and carefully about how you utilize your grafts. You have to consider the future and the fact that grafts are finite in number, coming up with a "master plan" is essential. Now I can tell you that the crown is the least important part of hair restoration. You want to make sure you address the hairline and midscalp first and foremost, I would monitor your situation for at least another 6 months, then meet up with a hair restoration doctor and devise a master plan. I would caution doing your crown at this point especially since there is a good chance it may open up wider and then you'll have what's referred to as a "donut hole" all the best.

I agree 100% with this advice and he knows what he is talking about . If you look at his pictures you will see the smart approach for someone that is a high norwood number. Also consider this . Propecia can stop being effective some report it loses benefits in five to ten years. I recently had an fut and my doctor had one of the best repair jobs on this site I have seen. The patient had transplants at a young age then lost his lateral humps when he got older. My doctor told me the patient was lucky that in his prior surgeries they did not go too aggressive with the hair line or waste hair in the crown. He was lucky he had enough grafts left. The crown is called the black hole for a reason it eats up a ton of grafts. Nobody is trying to scare you just giving you opinions. Keep doing research and consult with several doctors. Also you may want to do some research on shock loss. With a diffuse pattern a transplant can cause you to lose the hair that is already shrinking. Don't put much faith in cloning or other false claims. We have all been reading the same stories about growing hair on mice for years. You still have a lot of hair hopefully propecia can maintain it for a long time. Nobody is saying you can't have your crown done just be smart and research, research, research. Meet with a couple of quality doctors and compare what they say.

  5. If you want an honest answer to what you are asking you should send your pictures to Dr Konior. He is about as ethical as there is and will not bs you. He gives solid information for free and will not sugar coat the truth. I was not able to use him as a surgeon because he is booked out for almost a year but he gave me the best advice for free of anyone. There are some that will simply take your money tell you what you want to hear but he is not one of them.

  6. Sanjar you have been through hell my friend. I am super happy you won the free transplant with Dr Mohebi. Yours is not an easy case and it speaks volumes about his compassion as a surgeon and a person to do the repair. Hopefully you will be better soon. Really important you got the word out about this butcher shop in Colorado. You have been saving others from experiencing the same nightmare by being brave and telling your story. Wish you the best.

  7. You got the home run result my friend and I couldn't be happier for you. Your hair looks great. You have helped a ton of people on here with your advice including me. It's time for you to get on with life enjoy your hair. It is amazing that a year has flown by so fast I can only hope the next year does that for me as well. I finally had a procedure done with Doctor Cooley about a week and a half ago . Great experience great doctor. I may make my own thread not sure yet but not trying to hijack yours by any means. Wish you the best.
