  1. Huge improvement in the past 2 months. Congrats!
  2. You had young man face and old man hair. I can say that now because it's no longer true. Everything's back in sync. Second best decision you ever made (in case your wife reads this). Big congrats.
  3. Nope, FUE with Dr. Umar, but we've had the same number of grafts.
  4. He's nine months into this. Growth phase? Really? Clearly too much separation to match the natural density. Dude had a great head of hair and it isn't in any way satisfactory. Feller- quit posting marketing garbage and post on this thread to help a clearly unsatisfied (and rightly so) patient.
  5. You are fine. I'm a bit ahead of you in terms of time, and things are going well - I'm a regular grower just as you are (some say slow with these amazing early results people post). I'd say six months post to get ahead of where you were before. We're not all the 1% of patients the Doc's post here. But it comes. All these people (not you) looking for instant gratification from a few select cases they've seen are fooling themselves. It's not the norm. By any stretch.
  6. Sorry for the late reply, as I've been out of the country. I did not have body hair used, although I've seen some great results from Dr. U as various patients have come in during my follow-up visits.
  7. Indeed. And thanks for all the support along the way wylie. It is very much appreciated. I've finally turned the corner, and as a historically slow grower, I'm very happy at this early stage. In fact, I had my first haircut since my procedure in April just last weekend - that tells you how slow my hair grows.
  8. Exactly five months almost to the minute. Getting on a plane this evening, but promised to hit the monthly marks on time, so here you go. Everything is fine, moving along and I have my repair to the necrotic area (which really isn't visible unless from a drone) on September 28. Before/four months/five months as reference. And a single picture at five months. Hair is darker because I live at the beach and absolutely wear a hat when in the sun. Dr. U is a true gent, and I've enjoyed seeing him and his staff every time I visit.
  9. Good for you. I strongly considered Vories for my 4,000 graft FUE, but for me, it came down to geography. Good luck and post pics when you can.
  10. The last thread was not a poll Blake, but rather another discussion that spiraled around and around - and we have plenty of those. How about you resist the urge to continue to pollute this thread and sway members? Let's simply let the old and new HRN members vote without commentary. I expect a pinky promise.
  11. Unless my math is wonky, you had your first 3000 graft HT last December 1 or so. Dude, you are not even at eight months.
  12. Thanks for the encouragement fellas. And I'd say to those who have been debating - make a decision, find the right Doc and do it as soon as possible (age appropriate of course). Like I said, I've historically been a very slow grower and could go months without needing a trim, so if things can work for me, chances are they can for you. The longer you delay, the longer you don't get to that light at the end of the tunnel so to speak.
  13. Thanks farmcat. I feel like I'm just starting to turn the corner a bit. But again, as a very slow grower (I haven't even had a haircut since surgery - that's how slow I grow) it's moving along somewhat.
  14. Four month update - it's been four months to the day since my last FUE procedure. The necrotic area is healed and growing a few hairs. It actually became much smaller than I originally anticipated and the original pics earlier in this thread suggested it might be. I saw Dr. Umar today and will be going back on September 28 for 20 grafts or so to "fill the area." I almost didn't want to bother, as more hair grows/thickens I really don't think it will be an issue, but Dr. U is a perfectionist. He actually suggested we could do the small procedure immediately, but I have an ocean-based vacation coming up, so we're waiting until after that time. Yelling at my hair with the bullhorn is now working and hairs are sprouting - many more than the pics suggest. I'm a pretty slow grower and have been my whole life, so some growth at this early stage is encouraging. I didn't expect much of anything based on my history until month five at earliest. Temple points came in first and look good. Crown looks good as well. Donor area has completely healed and I could easily buzz to zero and nobody would be the wiser - even with my fine hair characteristics - go FUE!! I continue on Minox and Fin, and two weeks ago added Dutas once a week at .5mg. I look a few snaps of the front and crown and blasted the flash and dampened my hair to make it as harsh as possible - both areas look much better in person. Feeling pretty good that the next couple of months will grow and thicken nicely. And always nice to see Dr. U - he's a very cool customer and always makes you feel completely at ease. And his staff is awesome. And the view on the water is a bonus! Before surgery to today in the first pic. Closeup of the crown today in the second. Last pic is just front with natural light.
  15. Dr. Feller - I realize (as does most everyone else who frequents this forum) the subtle and not so subtle ways you and your protege bash FUE. Actually, you are a bit better at it than Blake is, but he'll get there given time. I just wanted to weigh in a bit here as an attorney. You can absolutely suggest a course of topical or oral medication-based treatment that the original poster might then discuss as a potential course of action with his personal physician. Your code of ethics certainly didn't stop you from overtly recommending a very specific course of surgical treatment to that original poster, without advising that he consult with his primary, let alone having seen the OP in person. Elective or otherwise, choosing to recommend on the latter by hiding behind legal reasons on the former is just BS.
  16. I feel your pain on this one. To be honest from some random dude on the outerwebs, in my opinion pretty much anyone can tell you were the recipient of a hair transplant in the frontal hairline, and not a good one at that at this point. That wasn't the case before you went to Feller on this one - you looked great. It looks sparse (to be kind) for the graft count you were given or quoted. I'd be keen to have Feller or the newly-minted super jr doc weigh in. I know I sound like Busa on this, but at this much time in, those gaps are not going to fill with new hair. Not enough density on this one for the great hair you already had. Felller/Box whomever clearly phoned this one in. I'd demand a repair for your previously amazing hairline.
  17. Congrats. Unusually successful growth at only 3 months and 3 weeks. I'm right there with you give or take a week. Redness can last and last, but all that new hair and you won't even notice it in another month. Looking great!
  18. Dang Blake - I understand you need to pump your mini-strip method at every available opportunity, but shilling in another clinic's thread? One that is no way related to anything you offer in terms of repair? Abbie's post outlined Dr. U's use of BHT to positively impact this patient's appearance. Are you guys doing body hair mini-strip now? Otherwise, what's your point? P.S. - another clever use of your typical "poor growth" references made to FUE. Enough already. It's so tiring to read day in and day out in every thread you post in. Good grief.
  19. Corey 53 - I agree that we'd need to see your pre-op pics to make an assessment. Who is this Joe person that originally handled your case? Do you have pre-op pics and the six month pics? Can you post them?
  20. Looking good there man. I'd refer you to your another Doc's recent comments on growth at this stage. So you still have a good ways to go and grow - it's not over yet. Dr K: "The second point is mentioning the 'slow growers', who I didn't believe much until recently. I still think that some patients who eventually have low growth are called slow growers by clinics who don't want to admit failure. Usually when I don't see about 60-70% growth at 6 months I assume that I am in trouble. However I have had a couple of patients who reported close to no growth at 6 months and 70-80% growth at 9 months. I am not sure if these should be called slow growers as the definition is actually meant for patients with a constant delay to actually see most growth between 9-18 months. The patients I mention have a frighteningly low growth in the first 6 months and actually catch up at around 9 months. I thought it would be useful to mention these variations in growth."
  21. Not from what I understand per my post-op instructions: "If the grafts are soaked too long, they may swell and rise above the skin surface and appear as little white bumps immediately after showering. This is a problem more likely encountered the first few days after the procedure. It is not harmful to grafts, but indicates that you are soaking too much. As soon as you allow your scalp to dry, they will disappear."
  22. It looks like you are immersing your transplanted area/soaking it with too much water during your post-op routine.
