  1. Hey looks great. I think people don't tend to see the real density kick in until 6 months and beyond. The density is the one think that worries me too, especially in the front where its a bit patchy growing (although I'm only at 3 months). I was thinking of upping my Biotin too. I take 5000 mcg but I haven't been consistent, but I'm nearly out of them so was going to get the 10,000 mcg ones to get a possible boost. BTW, have you considered cutting the rest of your hair short to blend the front in more? I'm thinking of taking the top down to a grade 3 or 4 once more of the hair grows in in the next 6-8 weeks.
  2. Thanks, does seem to have a bit of momentum behind it at the moment, hopefully that continues. I'm not sure, in some lighting it looks quite minimal, in other light more noticable. To be honest the growth is now making the area more obvious if anything with incoming hairs starting to frame the hairline a little. Well not sure the ugly duckling phase is quite gone yet, if anything its slightly more noticable now as there is some shorter growth next to longer hair, but I think in a month the my fringe (or bangs as they say in the states) will cover it .. although once there is a little more density to it, I am considering taking all the top down to a grade 4 again so that it blends in with the transplated hair a little more. I do take pics almost daily for myself, but to be honest its not that noticable from day to day, but I will post when ever (like above) I see some definate progress. Will also post next Wednesday as thats my official 3 months. I am, but still cautiously optimistic as its still early days, do still worry (not stressing or laying up at night though) a little about when the final density will be like. As for jealousy, don't be, you'll soon be experiencing it yourself, time really flies by, I really can't believe it'll be 3 months next week.
  3. Hey, front is still looking strong. Can see the shed in the crown but it looks thinner not bald and as you said it's all to be expected. To be honest I was a little freaked when I shed and when I did so really quickly, but I think the advantage of an early and large shed is it'll come back sooner. Good luck at work today, not that you'll need it, I bet any comments will be positive.
  4. Thanks Will. I believe Asmed is doing a London consultation in Feb so I would definitely email to find out and get yourself booked in. No, I think it's only necessary if it's over 10,000 euro or something like that, I didn't even consider it to be honest. Update .. okay so I was going to wait until next week which is my 3 months anniversary but I can't resist so here is today's pictures. In 2nd pic I've highlighted the area which was previously completely bald.
  5. Lol'ing at the thought of a pony tail ... please don't It is quite exciting seeing the growth, may be its imagined or just different lighting, but it does seem to be changing almost daily. Def looking forward to mid Feb which is when I expect I should really see it coming together (well fingers crossed) I was debating last night about whether I might clipper the top down to a grade 3 or 4 next month to help it look more even. Its great having the growth, but it does also make it slightly more obvious that something is going on... anyway, you'll be in the growth phase too before you know it.
  6. Hi Reyes1, hope you are well. To be honest I'm really am not stressing or overly thinking about it each day, it was more an observation and a slight whinge The online quote was actually for 3200, but then I saw Dr Koray in person during his London consultant and he said I actually only needed 2700.
  7. Wow, its looking really great. Enjoy it while you can. What were the comments over Christmas from friends and relatives?
  8. Merry Christmas everyone! Just a quick post. I'm just under 11 weeks post surgery as as per my previous post I'm seeing some reasonable growth happening. Might be completely delusional but it seems to be really gaining momentum recently. Still more the temples and front continues to be lacking (as highlighted) really wish that area would kick  Anyway pics below. Hair is pushed back for you to see the growth but I do normally wear it combed forward to hide the recipient area.
  9. Sorry I don't recall. To be honest I was tried and being filmed so I was distracted at times so wasn't fully paying attention. In terms the donor area, your probably best asking the team at Asmed as it's difficult to tell without seeing pictures. Bear in mind though that it changes and heals very quickly so what you see now will be quite different in 2-3 days.
  10. It's looking great, it'll be on fleek for Christmas Redness is quite minimal too based on the pics. How does it look now in person?
  11. Glad you found my thread helful. Can't believe are staying over Christmas. Unless of course if you don't celebrate Christmas then I guess you don't care. Good choice in terms of getting the clinic to wash it up until you leave. I know if I could go back I would have stayed longer for them to wash for at least the first week at a minimum as I personally found that quickly stressfully. But then I am easily stressed. Looking forward to reading your thread and seeing your pics! Hi eller1, I actually flew in and out of Sabiha Gokcen airport which is on the Asia side and closer to the clinic. As MrN3rd suggests Ataturk is around an hour but that's assuming no major traffic. Think it's fine this time of year but you can probably add another 30 mins at peak time from what I have been told.
  12. Haha, oh no Congrats MrN3rd, when do you fly home? You should start up a thread and post some pics. Always good to see how other Asmed clients are doing.
  13. More cringe-worthy than weird I think I started to see one or two hairs fall when getting the scabs off so I think its fairly normal.
  14. Quite possibly, I've read estimates of 350+ clinics offering HT in Istanbul so you have to wonder if those going to a low end, super cheap even get proper post surgery advice, also some people are just naive about the seriousness of what they have just had done. A personal trainer I use to train with had a HT in Istanbul last month and 2 days later, he was Snapchatting himself out in a bar, out sightseeing on a sunny day with no cap, etc. To be honest I wouldn't let that put you off if your sole purpose is to go for a HT. With Asmed for example you'll get picked up at the airport, taken straight to the hotel and after that you never have to see anyone other than hotel or clinic staff if you choose. In terms of how LGBT are treated in Turkish society as a whole I can't really comment as I didn't really venture out much other than for some filming for Nat Geo. From my understanding Istanbul is more liberal and cosmopolitan than other parts of Turkey.
  15. Thanks guys. I watched last nights show and essentially the only bit missing from the clip NatGeo posted online yesterday was a slightly longer intro when Peter Segal talks about various aspects of male vanity and and an extra 20 seconds or so of me chatting at the end. Hopefully when they upload a clip to their YouTube channel (which they tend to do several days later) it might be the whole HT segment that aired.
  16. It's amazing how quickly the back/donor area heals. Sounds like you are right on track. Only a few more days and you'll be able to dump the next pillow too and that'll massively help the sleeping.
  17. Okay, so I am cringing already as watching myself (I hate my accent and that I'm giggling like a teenage girl) .. but what the heck, I may as well share. So as I mentioned in my HT thread, my HT was filmed. I didn't post specifics at the time, but it was for a documentary series called Explorer that airs on National Geographic. The show airs Mondays at 10 pm EST and tonight's show (Mon 19th December) is the episode that features myself and another client at Asmed in Turkey. The Explorer website already has a clip online at Vain Man - Explorer Video - National Geographic Channel and I think that this is possibly the majority of footage that will air as each episode normally covers 3 subjects (this one is male vanity/insecurity) and typically the recorded footage is normally around 7-8 mins followed by panel discussion in the studio. I understand that after filming the crew went to Germany to meet someone having his manhood enlarged so I am guessing that will make up the other half of the 'male insecurity' segment. Enjoy!
  18. Looking really good, can't wait to see what it looks like without the scabs. You are definitely one of the luckier ones in terms of redness. I still have some redness even now. If your experience is anything like mine you may still get some random pain/discomfort in both the donor and recipient area over the next 2 weeks or so and I was told this is a combo of nerve ends repairing in the recipient area and just generally healing.
  19. Hey, to be honest I never really got around to watching much Netflix, but hotel WiFi overall was pretty good. You can now download with Netflix (at last some of their Netflix Originals shows) so perhaps do that before hand. In terms of the hat, I believe Asmed advise you wait a week before wearing so that's probably fine, but I wouldn't bother with the hat. You will be more noticeable with the hat than with out and after a week of walking around the hotel with a combo of a shaved/marked up head (pre-surgery) /then a post surgery head you most likely won't care. Nobody in the hotel cares or flinches as they see 3-4 people just like it every day and for me, after quickly losing my inhibitions at the hotel, I didn't care by the time I came to fly home. You will never see these people again so don't worry about it. When is your surgery?
  20. Okay, so I'm around 9 weeks and a few days and I definitely have some growth. I wasn't sure at first as its difficult to gauge, but over the past two weeks the recipient area felt a little more prickly, like there were small hair and looking back at some of my pics from 2 weeks ago I can see a difference. Its not a huge amount, but some obvious hairs and I can see a reasonably number of dots, i.e hairs underneath the skin looking to break through. For the moment growth seems to be more focused on the temples, but hardly nothing in the front which is annoying. Anyway, I know its early days .. hopefully its all a good sign. Pics below, open in their own page to see them full size.
  21. Hey, looks great. The puss (not sure what it is technically, prob combo of skin, discharge, blood, etc) is the scabbing that forms, looks a bit gross and puss-like when wet. All completely normal though. As long as you get the scabs off by Christmas (which you wouldn't have an issue doing) you'll look great over the holidays. Short hair really suits you too so you'll probably just lots of comments about why you have cut your hair so short (which is what I got). Its all normal apparently. I had the exact same issue and I WhatsApp'd Sevinc and she said its due to the swelling and that would disappear over time as the skin shrinks back.
  22. Intresting, I wondered about this previously but never asked. Makes sense when you think about it. Don't want your head to swell and those nice new grafts to pop out! Looks good from what I can see (2nd shot is a bit dark) looks nice and densely packed. How was your first wash at home today?
  23. I had a similar experience. After years of always making sure I styled my hair to hide the receding on the temples etc, there I was in the middle of an airport with a shaved head, all red and a bit swollen for the world to see. I think the whole thing has actually helped me let go of some of my vanity (just a smidge ), I was as carefree when I got home too, was often popping to the corner shop looking like god knows what, especially once all the scabs started forming. Give them something to gossip about! BTW, looking forward to see your offical pics once you get a chance to upload them.
