  1. Been using fish oil tabs for over 4 years and never had any increased shedding.
  2. I suggest you amend the options on your poll as the longest duration you have is 3 months plus. Most if not all responses will fall into this category with some vast differences already identified (2.5 yrs and 6 months) so not sure what you will gain as it stands. For the record mine was 8 months research.
  3. Thanks pma. Look forward to seeing your progress from Dec! With regards feeling comfortable in public post op is down to own personal views, self-confidence, recovery speed etc but me personally I felt comfortable around 3 month mark although the select few who were aware of my HT said from around 6 weeks that they couldn't even notice the redness (I convinced myself that it was still really red! - that's self paranoia for you!) Here's a couple of pics from 5 weeks post op. The camera ALWAYS makes the redness look worse. Also get some Aloe Vera cream and ask dr lorenzo about any concealers that you could use if redness is an issue for you.
  4. Thanks stinger! Thanks Pma - you have picked an excellent surgeon (well you know that already..right!?) Best advice i can give is relax, try not get too nervous (really not that much to it) and stay focussed on the end result oh and wear buttoned shirts/t-shirts and GOOD LUCK!! Keep us posted on progress. Be interested to know what hotel, surroundings and airport experiences are like as I shall be going to Madrid for my crown but not till sometime next year.
  5. 4 month update!! and must say I am really happy with progress so far. I am starting to get the double glances and had a few people say 'have you dyed your hair' I just laugh it off and say no! Patience game is killing me I am literally looking in every possible mirror I can - people must think 'look at that vain idiot'! Its only when i look at pre op photos that I realise how far I've come I have attached a couple of pre-op photos for easier comparison (there are also pre op photos in my earlier documentation direct from Dr Lorenzo) Appreciate your views on progress so far.
  6. Thanks Cueball. Just had my first haircut since the HT (14 weeks post op) !!!@ Hoooray!! and my barber who I have been going to for 4 years didn't say a thing!! He is usually the type of guy who would say exactly what's on his mind so he was even being polite and keeping his mouth shut (for a change) or he genuinely didn't notice. Personally think it was him being polite but you never know!! I'll see what he says next time i go in. Anyway heres some more pics 14 weeks post op. Tried to place as much natural light into pics as possible. No styling products or concealers either. Let us know what you think P.s still a tad bit uncomfortable going out in public as im convinced there is still significant redness.
  7. Thanks Glocktop - 3 people asked (who knew me anyway) because I all of sudden appeared in a hat after about a week of hiding away! I kinda laughed it off and said that the barber made a mess of my hair and accidentally cut my scalp with his clippers. Now that i no longer wear a hat the same people have said absolutely nothing since.
  8. 3 month update (really need a haircut now!!). Definitely some growth happening and happy so far with progress. I know there is still a long way to go but hopefully will only get better from here on. Pinkness still present (looks worse on photos than in person) but doesn't bother me going out in public - nobody notices anyway. i also have slightly more growth on left side than right - I know it will even out eventually. Appreciate any feedback!
  9. Totally your call and I am not providing any financial advice but whilst Bank of England interest rates are low you can shop around for some very low interest rate loans. I personally took a loan out just so I could take a cancellation appointment off someone and fully paid the loan back after 3 months (even with the early repayment charges it was completely worth it for my personal situation)!!
  10. I too and almost 3 months post op with still some pinkness left. Its not unusual for some pinkness to be still visible even at this stage in fact it can take several months post op to completely disappear. It also always looks worse on photos then in person.
  11. Are you on meds? If not then I suggest you do to a least stabilise your loss before proceeding with a HT.
  12. Hi KO. I am 10 weeks post op from a 3003 graft HT with Dr Lorenzo. Send me a PM and I'll do my best to answer any questions you have.
  13. Very impressive! Looks like its taken years off you! I had mine done with Dr Lorenzo 2 months ago and I can only hope mine is half as good as yours. Did you have grafts placed in the crown area as there seems to be significant improvement there too.
  14. 2 month update - photos with and without flash. Appreciate some feedback from the experts on where I am on timeline progression. I can see new hairs piercing through skin now and hopefully this will be continued trend. Pinkness in recipient area has almost gone now although I am finding my scalp becoming increasingly oily - any suggestions to resolve this? Think its time for a haircut as looking a little tatty now. Anyone know if OK to buzz to a number 4 (including the recipient area)?
  15. Thanks Stinger99 and London81 for your kind comments. I am really preying the results materialise and grafts yield..just got the 3 months or so before I hopefully begin to see results!
  16. Thanks Dutch. I take it that any surviving transplanted hairs from the initial shed will eventually shed through their normal shedding cycle and grow back thicker and stronger? No - I have been avoiding direct sun on scalp and fortunately the pool was an indoor one.
  17. I am now 6 weeks post op and must say it has been incredibly difficult to disguise my HT during this period. First of all I immediately aroused suspicions as soon as I walked out with a hat on. A few people even said to me have you had a HT??!! and they were being serious as well. Lesson learnt here is for anyone considering a HT who wishes to remain unnoticed is to occasionally wear a hat and gradually increase usage weeks before your HT then that way is less out of the ordinary or shock to others for day to day life. Secondly took my kids on holiday last week and had to take them in the pool. First time out in public without a hat and despite the odd glance (or maybe I was being paranoid) no one battered an eyelid. Which has thankfully restored a little confidence now. Anyway attached are some pics 6 weeks post op. Still a little pink (pics look worse for some reason) and I haven't shed all my grafts - maybe 70% shed. Is this normal? and can I expect to shed the remaining 30% any time soon? Donar area is completely healed now Tried to ensure best pic quality with sufficient light. Appreciate any comments.
  18. Here are the stats following the surgery. I will post some more pics (14 days post op now) tomorrow Grafts: 3003 Hairs: 7134 Hair per graft: 2.38 Singles: 323 Doubles: 1231 Triples: 1405 4 hair FU’s: 34 Punch: 0.8 mm Hair thickness: 52 microns
  19. I am currently 9 days post op and my post op instructions say to wash hair once a day from day 10-15 (once scabs have cleared) until 2 months however I am currently using the shampoo provided by Dr Lorenzo/Farjo's and am running out fast. Would appreciate some suggestions as to which shampoo to switch to that will not harm my grafts or future growth!
  20. Lorenzo only in UK until September then he is returning to Madrid. There are also decent surgeons in Belgium which is only a stones throw away via Eurostar also some good results from Turkish surgeons too. My advice would be do lots of research on this forum before making any decision. I took a year to make my mind up and ended up going to Lorenzo and so glad I did my research.
  21. This is for FUE (Dr Lorenzo only does FUE) and it is UK Pounds per graft.
  22. Thanks Mickey85 Thanks Densedream - he charges ?6 per graft for the first 1000 grafts then ?4 per graft thereafter. There are no hidden additional costs for the pre & post op meds either.
  23. Cheers guys. Here are a few more pics taken today (4 days post op) Swelling around forehead and above eyes has now disappeared which has now been replaced with itching in the donar area - to help reduce this I am using refrigerated saline spray which is kind of helping. Any other suggestions?? Havent been out the house since op and am getting increasingly irritable and bored!!
  24. Hi Guys I'd thought I would share my experience and results (so far) following my FUE procedure on 9th & 10th June with Dr Lorenzo. Having done extensive research on various surgeons I decided I wanted the best possible outcome with costs NOT being at the forefront of my decision making. After seeing lots of superb consistent results and write ups on this forum, youtube and injertocapilar and comparing these to other FUE surgeons supporting documentation I felt Dr Lorenzo's results were far more superior. In terms of surgery itself this was carried out over 2 days and finished by 15.30 on both days. I wont go into the ins and outs as both Gotime & FueThatWasClose7 have provided very accurate accounts of the detail. A few things I will say is Dr Lorenzo does ALL of the extractions and insertions himself and whilst I was sitting up watching TV I could see via the LED reflection just how efficient Dr Lorenzo is! His work rate is phenomenal!! His 2 technicians also work at an incredible rate in order have the implanters loaded. The techs say they nickname Dr Lorenzo 'the robot' - no guesses as to why Pain wise - was OK. Got a little sore and painful as I was approaching the end of the insertions but bearable. I have been on propecia and Minoxidil since January 14 and Dr Lorenzo said that my crown area is already improving so will wait a further 8-12 months to see what additional grafts are required allowing for any additional improvements from the meds. I have attached a few pics which are 2 days post op and would appreciate your views so far. Feel free to ask any questions or PM. I will get Mick from Farjo's to provide the hair breakdown and upload the pre op and immediate post op photo's.
  25. Some useful tips - I'll bear them in mind when I go in for my FUE HT on 9th June!
