  1. So how is your regrowth going Rothki, i posted not long after you got your surgery (am also from WA)
  2. am more than happy with procedure price was good and it was doctor fong from hair hair hair in thailand. If I could do it again i would talk to more people in forums like this beforehand, i didnt know the scar would be so visible (with short hair) and the swelling and the down time was longer than expected.
  3. yeah the scars are proobably larger than normal but will you see them when your hair is longer, I got strip surgery and that was a bit more obvious eh.
  4. Ok it has been nearly 1 3/4 years since my hair transplant, I will give my feedback in bullet points. *Your hair will probably not grow back as thick as it was when you were a young fully hirstute man. In my case one part of my hair that was transplanted did grow back quite thick and actually close to what it was originally, I think this was because I had some ok hair left in this area. * I got strip harvesting this left a sizeable scar at the back of my head which means i cannot go shorter than say a 3 on the back, which is probably fine with me, in the future i will use fue to cover any areas that need to be filled. The area is actually quite sensitive now. * I use rogaine, about 10ml and also procerin/palmasaw, seems to be working ok the rogaine was fine, i didnt even notice it was in my hair but some other shit i used felt like i put orange juice in my hair. * Take plenty of time off, dont try to go back to work or travel too soon, I thought i looked fine when i got back to motel after surgery next morning i flew out and face was balloon like. When I went back to work swelling was still crazy, my eyes and nose morphed into one mass. I would reccomend at least a week off work after operation. * Dont try to conceal it from friends or family you see quite often they always seem to notice and truth seems to work best (i know because i was a hider of truth). * Get topik! I use Topik occasionally, I went to a wedding recently and used it and when i go out i occasionally use it. You wouldnt even know i was thinning. * Scar remains fairly sensitive and this might continue for life, i am not saying if you touch it is sore..but if you knock it then you notice it alright. Anyhow, if anyone wants any other feedback feel free to message me. It is all pretty scary but if you get a good doctor it is a good decision. Let me add that I was norwood 5 and had a terrible looking combover type hairdo to conceal my massive baldspot.
  5. I flew out the next day, which wasnt too bad, would struggle traveling a week after my swelling was hardout after a week- the day after the swelling wasnt too bad which was ideal for flying- not the most comfortable but prob better than a week later. Issue is that staying enables you to have post op care by your doctor.
  6. Im a kiwi and went to Thailand, do your research though, i spent a good month or two reading forums like this.
  7. Yeah will sort out a picture, it isnt as thick as the rest of my hair but looks fairly legit straight on but from ontop you can notice the difference in thickness, it is never going to be as thick as the rest of my hair. Yeah the flight home was average, shit getting the bandana afterwards so i wore a hat. I went to work about 4 days later and man was i swollen, i might post the post surgery photo- looked like i went ten rounds with tyson.
  8. Yeah bunbury Tom, yeah I was around a norwood 5. Worst thing I did was head home the day after the operation in Thailand, head felt like it was going to explode on the plane. I got around 3800 grafts for a tad under 5000 aussie dollars.
  9. man, thats not bad eh, wait until you get to the year mark eh, think that is roughly the benchmark for growth. What norwood classification were you?
  10. Rothki did you go with jen martinick? Was she pretty good? I am in WA too.
  11. Yeah, I went with FUT, not a bad decision i guess, but will never be able to shave head to say less than a 3 without the scar becoming apparent. I think now that i have the FUT I will fill any other bits with FUE. There are some very experienced doctors in Thailand doing FUE, best thing to do is look for reviews.
  12. Turkey seems a long way, I went to Thailand, there was a variety of doctors to choose from there and a handful were American trained. I know of a couple of people that have had work done in Australia and have been quotes nearly 3 times the Thai price...think the quality was good though.
  13. Hi there, Was just wondering if any Australians are around, would love to hear about their experiences with Hair transplants/procedures done both here and in South East Asia, their views etc. Cheers
