  1. Thats good news in terms of availability and price reductions. My issue is the lack of consistency between brand and generic finasteride - I have read many cases where people switch from brand to generic and suffer increased hairloss/shed and/or side effects that weren't present before.
  2. Personally, I get mine via boots online. ?90 for 3 months supply of Propecia 1mg. I'd rather pay the extra to ensure I get the branded name and legitimate supply from a reputable supplier.
  3. Hey Gillenator Thanks for the advice. Yes I'm having FUE. Need about 6,000 grafts in total. I won't be having the 2nd procedure until around 8-12 months after my 1st one.
  4. Hi Guys Well first of all after extensive research, I am booked in with Dr Lorenzo for approx 3000 grafts in just over 2 weeks time.! I do intend to post results/experience on the forum so watch this space! Aside from being really nervous about it all, I do have a question about what type of hat to wear immediately after and for the first few weeks after the op? I was planning on just wearing a loose baseball cap with my main concern being safeguarding the grafts.. Any advice/experience appreciated.
  5. Dr Lorenzo goes back to Spain in September and is fully booked in Manchester until then. His costs are ?6 per graft for 1st 1000 grafts then ?4 per graft thereafter.
  6. Thks both for the advice. Didn't expect to be out of action for at least 2 weeks but willing to do whatever is needed in order to protect my grafts!!
  7. Hi all I am looking to get FUE HT done in July/August - approx 3000 grafts by Dr Lorenzo. The thing is I am a competitive runner and would like to schedule the HT without impacting too much on my training schedule and races throughout August and September. What is the recommended/safe time post op before beginning training again? Does it matter how intense the training is? Does it matter about the distance run? I usually run 6-10 miles per day and a little concerned about the amount of sweat being produced and impacting on the grafts. Thks
  8. For me it has significantly knocked my self-confidence and now feel very unattractive. I now struggle to look people in the eyes and avoid social contact as much as I can. I actually split with my long term partner about a year ago and dappled in the world of online dating. To be honest the general experience was quite positive. However I stopped as I am booking in for HT with Dr Lorenzo in July/August with a plan to rejoin online dating once my HT is undetectable (about a year post op) I will be intrigued to see if I actually appeal to more women with more hair than before the HT!!!!
  9. Thanks for the response Rootz. I guess what I am trying to weigh up and justify is by possibly going with one of the top Turkish surgeons for 60%-70% less in terms of cost than Lorenzo etc am I really going to see much difference in terms of results/quality. I am also struggling to understand why the significant cost difference especially as they all use very similar FUE procedures. None of us want to throw money away and I want to ensure I spend mine wisely
  10. Guys I have been looking at further reviews on the various surgeons around Europe with Lorenzo, Bisanga & Ferundini (sorry probably spelt incorrectly) coming out on top. Is there really a big difference between the top 3 (who's pricing structures are very similar per graft) compared to the likes of Doganay and Erdogan who are significantly cheaper (like a third of the price)?? I have already had a consultation with Lorenzo who has suggested I need approx 6000 graphs over 2 procedures. Bottom line is that I want the best possible results. But I want to ensure that paying high end costs for a top surgeon is the right thing to do.. Appreciate your views
  11. Hi All, I have been floating on this forum for sometime now and have a few questions that can hopefully be answered and put my mind at rest. I have been suffering from hair loss since I was 22 (I'm now 34) and has been a gradual decline since it started - with confidence dropping now to an all time low..It has not been until recently that I have decided I need to do something about it as its become really noticeable to me and obviously others around me. So I started on Propecia 5 weeks and Rogaine 5% foam and Nizarol shampoo 2 weeks ago. So far no side effects and hair already feels in better condition...I am trying to get my hairloss under control before proceeding with a FUE HT with Dr Lorenzo. Anyway my questions :- 1. What is the long term outlook on a someone who had a successful HTets say in their 30's with a reputable surgeon? I have read that as you age (into 50's, 60's +) that the transplanted hairs become thinner, grey and begin to look weedy on top of your head. Equally, the donar area thins out even more so over time leaving the scars be it from FUT or FUE even more visable. 2. With regards to Propecia and Minoxidil, do they begin to lose effectiveness after 10 years (apparently no clinical studies beyond this by Merk due to this reason??) If so then its likely that further HT's will be required? Appreciate any feedback as these are the 2 burning issues I have that are ultimately putting me off from a HT. I have searched this forum for similar questions/answers but clearly had no luck!! Finally great forum by the way - I have learnt so much from here and could quite easily have made some wrong decisions if I hadn't of found this forum! Thanks.
