  1. Did you pull or pluck at those grafts/hairs? Or did they fall out with normal gentle washing? Also, how old are you? Your original hairline looks full and dense.
  2. Have you contacted the surgeon or the clinic about this? You should probably consult them first.
  3. Here you'll find numerous pre-Hollywood era baldness ads: https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&site=imghp&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1436&bih=768&q=old+brylcreem+ad+1900s&oq=old+brylcreem+ad+1900s&gs_l=img.3...806.12537.0.12898.22.7.0.15.15.0.145.559.6j1.7.0....0...1ac.1.32.img..8.14.574.OFtbZqYtnTQ#hl=en&q=vintage+cure+for+baldness+ad&tbm=isch&imgdii=_ 1910 (pre-Hollywood era) ad for baldness: Fishing for History: The History of Fishing and Fishing Tackle: Deconstructing Old Ads with Bill Sonnett I think civilized man has always been concerned about hair loss. Even before the advent of mass marketing and 'Hollywood.' I think marketers just played into and capitalized on an already existing fear. Cures and remedies for baldness have been around for eons.
  4. Ah, my apologies. You brought up India in your last post in a way that sounded like you had first-hand experience there. I made an inaccurate connection. And no, not insulted in the least bit. You haven't made this personal in any way.
  5. I can only imagine how difficult it was to find reliable information then. You're lucky that you stumbled upon a place that did good work. I think the internet, and forums like this in particular, have forced the hair restoration industry to elevate their game. There's no reason for anyone to be subjected to the archaic and dishonest practices they had become known for. Still, wading through the research and the hype of certain clinics and surgeons (who shall go unnamed) can be challenging.
  6. Your English was clear. We'll just have to agree to disagree as I think you are giving way too much credit and power to one single entity (Hollywood) when hair and its association with virility have gone back thousands of years. Hollywood is simply a gross manifestation of what already existed. I take a lot of my spiritual practice from the East and 'The Bhagavad Gita' specifically, so I know that not everyone in your country is given to such delusion.
  7. I've just started using Fundamental Shampoo for daily use in conjunction with Regenepure Dr. I like it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005I8RH78/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  8. I just started using Regenepure Dr. I've also started using Fundamental Shampoo for daily use. I like them so far. Both are SLS-free.
  9. My youngest daughter was conceived while I was taking Propecia. She was born healthy and is a healthy and happy pre-teen now.

  11. Great result. Was his donor density higher than average? Also, his hair looks much lighter in the pre-op pics, did he color his hair or is that just lighting?
  12. That looks pretty damn good for the number of grafts and the year it was done. Very natural. You are going to be happy with what can be done now. Especially if you go with a great surgeon.
  13. Forget MPB. That's the gene we should be mapping in the human genome - The Immune From The Evils of Hollywood Gene.
  14. There are a lot of men who have had successful results without the use of Minoxidil. Not everyone uses it post-surgery. My doctor recommends using it 7 days post-op. I waited 9 days, used it for 10 and didn't like how it made my scalp feel so I stopped. I also started shedding in my mid-scalp and crown area which wasn't heartening after having a procedure to 'gain' hair. I may try it again at some point - maybe 3 to 6 months.
  15. Men have been wearing wigs for centuries. Marketing and Hollywood are two different things. Here's an ad from 1921 for cleaner, whiter teeth (result of a 15 second google search): Old Ads Are Funny: 1921 ad: Oil Your Teeth with Clorox Tooth Paste The vast majority of people in the world had not seen a moving picture then. You can easily make the argument that the movies shape society and/or vice-versa. They influence each other. Why do you think movies spend so much time in testing and focus groups? By the way, 'a deceiving picture of perfectness' is not why all the guys on here are now chatting on this forum instead of having normal bald life. I didn't want to be like my father. I'd look at his bald head and freak out in my mind. Deeper psychological issues than the effect marketing has had on me. I've heard that from other balding men actually. Although I won't deny marketing and society has had an impact on me and how I feel about my hair.
  16. Nope. There are better options outside of LA in the US for FUT. And several great options for FUE in Europe. Depending on your situation and strategy.
  17. Here's a guy from the UK who did thorough research before selecting his doctor. I recommend you read it through, see his current results and consider PM'ing him. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171968-raymond-konior-md-4-320-fut-grafts-august-2013-a.html
  18. That perception exists all over the world and it's not just from Hollywood. Hair has long been associated with virility - the story of Samson and Delilah goes back to the Old Testament: "Samson had two vulnerabilities, however: his attraction to untrustworthy women and his hair, without which he was powerless. These vulnerabilities ultimately proved fatal for him." Does 'Hollywood' feed into it? To some degree. But it didn't create it. Also, look at all the hair restoration clinics popping up in Europe. European men as every bit as looks conscious as men in the US. I travel there often for work and they put a great emphasis on appearance/style. As far as women go, they are going to pick up on anything that affects your confidence. I would take what this particular woman said as a compliment.
  19. Hmm, Bk, someone else please weigh in here, but that looks like entire grafts and not just shafts of hair. Where did you have your procedure done?
  20. You have great hair. Leave it alone. Now run along and enjoy life.
  21. I'm not sure why when someone brings up examples of men who have accepted their hair loss, they name guys like Bruce Willis, Jason Stratham, Sean Connery, etc. People, these are movie stars with fame, fortune and all the accoutrements that come with it. Trust me, those are great equalizers. Funnily enough, those men are not above putting on a wig for a role in a film and the nice paycheck that comes with it. What is the difference of you doing the same for your career? Both my father and brother accepted their hair loss early on and buzzed their heads. They were both in the military and had no self-consciousness about it whatsoever. I went down an entirely different path career-wise and have always been self-conscious of my hair loss. When I told them I was going to have a HT, they didn't scoff at it - they respected my decision because they knew it always bothered me. As an aside, my brother came up with one of the funniest quips regarding my hair loss: "You must look at me and think, 'There but for the grace of Propecia go I.'" My point is, even though they accepted their hair loss, so what. It doesn't mean anything when it comes to mine. Everyone is different. And please don't bring up men like Bruce Willis and Jason Stratham if you're going to use examples of men who have accepted their hair loss. That's ridiculous. When you're pulling down $10-20 million a picture and you're one of the biggest box office stars in the world with women throwing themselves at you, it might be a little easier to look in the mirror, pull out those clippers and say, "You know what, f*** it."
  22. It all sounds good. Are there any clinical studies to support these claims?
  23. Are you speaking of during the procedure or after? I'm not familiar with ATP, but do all or most surgeons use it during the the ischemic period when follicles are being transferred from the donor area to the recipient area? If you are talking after, then the above statement would be untrue because there literally have been thousands of good outcomes without the use of ATP after the procedure, at least from what I know as I haven't heard of it until now.
