  1. the pain and the blood on the pillows doesn't sound good... but the photos look good, wish you the best
  2. Feriduni has been quiet on here since 2014 (?) i just did a search, has anyone got any updates? thanks
  3. the map link for Spain shows dr devroye and not dr lorenzo (this must be a mistake?!)
  4. i found this on the website just now, under fue technique. it sounds like they aren't technicians and are far more qualified than that. it's probably always worth asking directly to confirm "The extraction is carried out by our two surgeons, Dr. Lawrence and Dr.. Vila. Both have a specialist mining (TEF) to help them in this task."
  5. no, Manchester. am pretty sure Dr Lorenzo did the extractions
  6. i had my front hairline done 2 years ago with dr lorenzo and am still very happy with it, would recommend
  7. well, i thought this was a very respectable clinic. this is the second random post i've come across this week after logging on, which has turned out to be shocking. i think it's great that dr Doganay has commented and put a reply. the comment about technicians dropping equipment and the risk of infections is worrying as well. i can understand that people don't want to take fin - it's not great, but it does work. however, it did make a difference to my hair miniaturisation and seemed to halt loss very quickly. anyway, what worries me most about this post and the other Feller post, is that there seems to be a serious issue going on about technicians? is there anything the moderators/owners of this forum can do about recommendations or price structuring - it seems to be assumed most of the time that if you pay a high rate, you will see the specialist for a full consultation and he will do the designing/structuring and the main part of the work? is there not some way to make the process more transparent in the recommendations/results pages?
  8. Thank you Stig and MyFueBlog. Am now currently researching options with Dr Wong and Dr Lorenzo. Your replies have helped me think a bit more clearly about the best options.
  9. hello everyone, i'm thinking about going for a second HT and getting some work done on the crown i'd be happy to travel to Europe (am in the UK) or possibly NY as i know i'm going to be there later on this year am looking for personal recommendations if possible, as i feel more unsure about this second procedure than the first (which i was very happy with incidentally) would also like to talk to someone about alternatives to finasteride, but this isn't the main focus thanks everyone :-)
  10. i just read an interesting study that said onion oil is very good
  11. very interesting pics, thanks for posting. think i can see some areas in your temples that look as if there's hair in a straighter line rather than a contour. did you have the triangular grafts lower down near the forehead (sides) too? looks good anyway
  12. i am booked in for an ht over two consecutive days, and it has been advised to sleep with 2-3 pillows (elevated) in the early days. i'm wondering if anyone has any advice to protect the grafts during the night/minimise discomfort? i was thinking that for the first night after the ht, i might just try to rest/nap rather than go to sleep as usual although i realise this might be excessive if anyone has any advice about what they did, i'd like to hear
  13. some people seem to have taken time off? i'm hoping easter will give me enough time to get used to things post-ht before i return. if it doesn't i might make up a story about dermatitis and put on a hat!
  14. some people take half a tablet of propecia every couple of days and find that works better for them think that the photos look good, will the hair system be minimal? it's interesting that you've decided to go for a hair system. let us know how you get on with it?
  15. it sounds like you are having a panic over it (i would be like this too) but your ht surgeon seems to be providing reassuring and accurate advice. i would go to my gp if i were you, just to check it out
  16. my only thought is that i was considering going to turkey for a fue procedure and thought that because of the heat, i wouldn't wear a cap (sweaty, too tight?) but probably a bandana and i thought that i'd want to stay a few days extra while i was there
  17. it sounds like she was giving you a compliment i wouldn't even be friends with anyone who made negative comments about my appearance!
  18. if it's any help, i think the propecia + spray looks pretty good the phrase that you are back to square one jumped out at me, you at least tried the hair systems and the propecia, so you are further ahead than when you started and you have some experience and this is valuable i'm in music as well. i'm wondering if a ht, say in turkey might be a cheaper and good option than hair systems? i am not sure what i'm doing now either, after being on propecia for some time, but i think i can't go through with a fut and am just taking my time investigating fue i think something a lot of people say on here, is just take your time and do your research, don't let the emotional side of hair loss push you into making emotional decisions (much easier said than done i know) harsh light is the worst hope something i've written has helped you
  19. i think staying hopeful and reducing your stress is a good plan, and i hope you start feeling happier soon. it's funny that i was only thinking this morning that i wish i had done something at a much earlier age (i'm in my 30s now) and then i saw your post. i am on propecia (about 3 months in) and i also felt very wary about starting a medication that i will probably be taking for a long time. i also use regaine and it seems to have done something for me. i think what i'm trying to say, is that if you keep reading these forums and posting, you get to a point where you feel you are making the right decisions at the right time for yourself, and you are following a program that works for you. there is a lot of support here for you
  20. i can't comment on the procedure because it's not something i know a great deal about, but it sounds like you are being very hard on yourself. you made a decision that included emotional factors but you did a lot of things right - you found a doctor who you think is great, and took action to improve a situation that was making you unhappy. i think it is pretty standard for ht hair to fall out, and it does regrow. maybe go back to your doctor and say you're feeling unhappy about the recovery process? he should have support staff, and should be used to dealing with the kind of questions and worries you have. it's still really early days, please post back again if you can, and let us know how you get on?
  21. i feel the same way as other posters - what reasons could there be for the growth not being up to expectations? i would also agree, and if i was you, i would wait the full 12 months at least. i read a lot of the threads on here, and it seems very common after an ht to watch, and keep looking for growth, but it is true, what with the dormant phase of hair growth, it can seem to take a long time before you notice an improvement. if he were to do another ht, wouldn't that endanger the last transplant? i am sure you want to go ahead and do it again, as you want results, but i would seriously wait
  22. i've been on finasteride for a while now, and haven't had any side effects at all. i take just 1/4 per day with water/a drink and a vitamin tablet. i'm thinking of it as maintenance of what i already have as well as preparing for a ht. my doc did say that if i had side effects, to go down to a 1/4 every other day or a 1/2 every other day, whatever works for you. he also said not to think about the side effects too much and to keep positive about it all. i think a big question i had is can i have a ht without taking it... and you have to ask yourself if you have enough donor hair to cover all the top of your head (2/3 + crown) - a lot of guys don't have this much. this was a big factor in me taking the drug - if i can stabilise the hair loss with the drug, then having a ht will be a clearer step to take. i really wouldn't want a ht to then have substantial further loss on top and the crown and then have to worry about having another transplant with reduced donor hair available. i also did research into some of the brain fogging that has been reported with finasteride - i asked quite a few people who take the drug and also the docs who prescribe it, how common this is, and they say it's not common at all. to get the side effect of hair growth - we aren't taking the full dosage. some of the reports on side effects were very biased, and some people explain that as the drug is given in full dose for those guys with prostate problems *and* this group tend to be a bit older, that those who report such things as sexual dysfunction and fogging would be similar (statistically) to those in that age group who suffer from these things naturally. what i heard is that there isn't a strong correlation to make these studies applicable to everyone. but... saying that, i do accept that a lot of guys say they have these side effects.
  23. hello everyone, a weird question here. i've started taking genetic finasteride for a few weeks now and everything's good! however... there is another drug that i stopped taking, my gp said it was just an experiment but has now pushed me back onto it. it's not for hair loss and although it had an initial good result (about 6 months ago) it stopped working so he upped the dose to maximum with still not much of a result. my gp is not part of a dispensing gp practice, but i really don't want to take this other stuff as a) it doesn't work at all and b) i don't want to take tons of tablets. does anyone know: if i don't put in his prescription - will he know about it? i've tried to explain i don't want this other stuff, but it's falling on deaf ears. i feel generally annoyed with this gp, as i gave him a letter saying i was on finasteride and he 'lost it', although he acknowledged receiving it. maybe it's not appropriate to post this type of question on here, but i am quite stressed about it.
  24. Bhringraj is meant to be as effective as Regaine without any of the sides and you can leave it on overnight...
  25. i also thought that i could do a ht without taking finasteride. from my personal research, it does seem that most doctors recommend finasteride because of the strong results in the crown area. if you have a ht and lose more hair, and you don't have much donor hair left... it makes sense. i don't think they say you must take it or anything, but they seem to be saying that if you don't take it, you may need another ht after already having your first one. ethics, i guess. i've only been on finasteride for 2 weeks so i need to wait until the 3 month date until i can see any results. i'm hoping it'll save what i have, regrow some, and slow the mpb, and hope to see a result before i go for my first ht.
