  1. How can he possibly know now? The whole point of trialling a new technique is to see if it is viable. There will be no definite answers until this phase has run its course.
  2. Ha, thanks John. I think the reason my hair looked 'pretty cool' shaved at the start is largely down to the fact that my midscalp is filled in with transplanted hair. If I had just shaved and had no procedure, I would have had a very sparse/thin mid-scalp area, surrounded by thicker hair. I'm 8 weeks post op today, and most ht hairs have shed so now I have that sparse look again, even though I am more comfortable with the shaved look than I would have thought pre-shave. I'm at the worst point of the ugly duckling period now though so I'm very much looking forward to growth over the coming months. I will be very tempted to keep my hair buzzed though (and it will look better once the midscalp growth has kicked in)! I'm tempted to buzz it to a 1.5" again already! I'll post photos once I hit the 2 month mark in a few days.
  3. Looks about right for this period! I'm 8 weeks post op so I'm not far behind you! Out of interest, did you speak to Dr De Reys about applying concealer post op? I haven't used any myself yet
  4. Better doctor.......every day of the week. Not to say that you wouldn't get a satisfactory result in India, but I think you might always have that thought in the back of your head over the next few decades "What if I had just gone to Dr X instead". That's one thought I'd hate to have hanging over me. If your research had led you to feel that the better docs are in NA ,stick with that.
  5. Just thought I'd comment on this bit..... I take it you missed the update recently, in that Dr Mwamba went over to investigate things in Nigams clinic and is looking into practising the doubling technique in Brussels. Now I'm not holding my breadth, but it is somewhat positive that a doc of Dr Mwanbas calibre is actively looking to practising the technique. As for Dr Nigam as a standalone HT surgeon, I wouldn't be a fan.
  6. Wow, that's a monster FUE session! They must have been two long days! Best of luck, hope you keep us informed on how it goes. Stick to that post op regimen!
  7. Einfachlacm, I had FUE only 10 days after you, so I am currently in the ugly duckling stage too. One thing I have found to be of huge benefit (which I never thought I'd hear myself say), is keeping my hair buzzed very short! I really feel less is more, in that the shorter your native hair is, the less obvious your recipient area is. As soon as my hair begun to get longer, it really didn't look so good, and getting it cut made me immediately feel better. I'm going to cut it every 2 weeks until December at least. I see you do have redness at the front. Have you been using Aloe Vera or anything to try to combat the redness at all since the ht?
  8. I wouldn't consider a HT right now if I were you. Get on the meds and reassess in 12 months I reckon, if not longer. They might halt things completely which would mean you still have great hair hair for 32/33 yr old, or may even improve things. Worse case scenario and you continue to lose, then look into it.
  9. I had a HT 7 weeks ago. I lost very little for the first 3 weeks, then they started to drop gradually. Weeks 4-6 for me was the noticeable shedding period.
  10. Looking on course BT. I think you're actually gonna be one of the bigger transformations on here in recent times. Almost 12,000 hairs is something else. Your mates are gonna have to come up with some new jokes in about 9-10 months time! I know what you mean re the p1ss taking though, in that my mates and more have taken the p1ss re my buzzed head but literally after about a minute or two they've just moved on.
  11. Thanks for the comments guys. Cueball, you're situation looks fantastic now, Dr Feriduni has done an incredible job. Your next session will be a breeze in comparison as well! 7 weeks post op today and nothing much to report. I'll update pics again at 2 months and each month after that.
  12. You must be going very gently on the recipient mate, with those scabs left! I was rid of all my scabs by day 8 (you'll see it in my thread). At day 7/8 I begun circular massaging while under the shower and it worked a treat. It helped me feel comfortable enough to go out to dinner at 1 week post op, without a cap on.
  13. BHR clinic provided me with the hydro-cortisone cream which I used twice a day from day 3-21. It helped with the itching alright, hard to say if it helped with redness as I was using Aloe Vera Gel 99% as well. I also sprayed a lot of saline spray over the first week, almost hourly, on top of washing the donor area with bethadine shampoo. I see that this is your 4th procedure. Were the other 3 all FUE, or a combination of FUT and FUE?
  14. Are you guys using anything to try and combat redness?
  15. Got the hair cut again yesterday anyway. Got a 2" on top and a 1.5" on the sides and back. Very happy with donor condition 6 weeks out from HT and cut so tight, considering it is still in the early stage of the healing process.
  16. All looks as expected mate. You're only a few weeks ahead of me, so we'll be going through this ugly duck at the same time! You also look to have similar characteristics to me (hair calibre, skin tone etc)......on top of taking your pics against a very similar wall to my own! Ha. Will be interesting to see how we both develop. I see you had a bit of shockloss in the donor. Has this been an issue for you? How is it now?
  17. 6 Weeks Well and truly in ugly duckling territory, but soldiering through.I have yet to wear a cap since coming home from hols which is also surprising! I'm also 3 weeks into using Rogaine 5% foam again, as well as recently adding Nizoral 2% back to the regimen......so on top of the winter period approaching, my scalp is probably going through several shedding attacks at once! As you can see, my midscalp / recipient is very bare compared to the native around. Haven't yet got a chance to get to the barber again to get a 2" all over (contemplating a 1"). The sooner the better for me! Donor feels in really good shape. Redness in recipient is pretty much gone at this point I feel, and hasn't really been as issue for me for 2-3 weeks now and even then it was mild. The PRP may have played a helping hand in this too. If I get to the barbers over the next few days I'll get more pics. I intend on taking them in this location of my garden from now on so a more accurate comparison can be made periodically.
  18. Looks normal to me mate. Oh and just on a slightly technical note......that isn't shockloss. Shockloss is when your non-transplanted/native hair is affected by the ht due to trauma and sheds. What you look like you are experiencing is just standard shedding of transplanted hair shafts.
  19. Ya, this is looking excellent, and only at 7 months as well so a lot of maturation still to come!
  20. I recently had PRP administered at the end of my ht, and many of my grafts have shed in the 6 weeks since. I know that PRP can aid in the healing process but I had not read that it could aid the possibility of retaining the transplanted hairs.
  21. What has your post OP regimen involved? How often are you cleaning? Has your scalp gotten much fresh air since the ht? Are you using things like Aloe Vera? I returned to work 20-21 days post 2200 FUE and the ht was pretty undetectable (and I have fair skin / medium fine brown hair).
