  1. Looks great! I'm jealous you got your temporal pints built out nicely!!
  2. I agree with many on the board. At 23 you're still quite hound and it already looks like your forelock is at risk of further loss. If you begin now without stabilizing your hair loss you may end up playing catch up. Just think, you fill in the corners then one year later when those grafts have grown in you've lost more hair (hair loss IS progressive) and now you've got holes to fill in. At your age it's likely (at least we must assume the worst and hope for the best) that you'll progress quite a bit. It may be wiser to try propecia and rogaine to stop loss and being only 23 their is a greater chance of re growth. I'd try that for a year especially since you can conceal well right now. Then reasses at the year mark.
  3. I know this is an old thread but I found my way here via a link from another thread and if prez is still around I thought I'd chime in. I'm wondering if perhaps the spliced down larger grafts into singles to refine the hairline and as a result this may have somehow weakened or disrupted the follicles life span. Essentially, HT is an organ transplant and as such it may 'take' for a certain duration before the body rejects it or the immune system attacks it and the result being hair loss?
  4. Hi Agent eye I see in your sig it says rahal is a coalition member. I thought he is no longer able to be since the laws changed in Ottawa?
  5. Neither will do all that much for recession. In some cases it may yield a positive result. Best thing to do would be to post some pics first for a proper opinion.
  6. Personally I don't think there is a correlation. I know people refer to sugar and Sean as less then stellar which they are but they are not failed in my opinion. All docs will have a small percent of cases like that even if they execute perfectly. Rahal dense packs FUT with great results over and over. I do realize the grafts undergo lots more stress from extraction via FUE and so I've no doubt that it likely does yield less all things being equal but nothing more then a few percent perhaps. This cosmetic procedure is in a league all it's own. It's not so cut and dry as other procedures. We will see how I develops in the coming months and I will update you all with my FUE progress. Also, if the thory that the yield is less when you dense pack due to compromised blood supply it would occur with FUT also. If anything it has more to do with graft trauma.
  7. They don't say exactly but dr. Rahal I believe adds growth factors of some sort sort (acell or peptides perhaps - but I speculate here) that increases survival rate. You'll also note that they routinely get early growth. I'm 2 months out and have many grafts that are already growing and many more sprouting. Also tumescence which I believe most docs don't use to place grafts. This actually safe guards the delicate blood supply below the skin and minimizes any trauma to that blood supply while placing those grafts. Having grafts close together does necessarily compromise blood supply its the trauma inflicted to those micro vessels during the procedure. By eliminating the trauma you can ensure better survival rate. I met in person a 2k FUE graft patient who was a NW3 prior and I'm critical as hell with a trained eye due to my work and this was in an office with high hats and it looked damn good to me. He did have ideal skin to hair contrast but still. It was nice and thick.
  8. I don't know why you'd advise against dense packing. Making an arbitrary statement like 'you want some FU to survive' is complete nonsense. MOST doctors don't have proper technique to dense pack and risk transaction of existing grafts. However, I believe Dd. Rahals unique technique helps to minimize this and their graft solution increases survival rate. I personally had about a 2k FUE with Dr. Rahal.
  9. Mickey didn't you have strip already? You're probably bitter about the poor result and the fact you've got a strip scar and so this is surely why you've decided to go on a crusade against because it cuts deep. This behavior is typical human nature. However, it's still his right to voice his opinion but you should disclose this if so. Otherwise your opinion is misleading.
  10. Hey buddy, First of all.. Whatever you do DO NOT GO TO BOSLEY. Ok, now that we've got that out of the way. The rate for FUE will vary from 6$ per graft all the way up to 12$ per and sometimes more. The type of transplant you need will determine the recommendation I would give. For example, how old are you? How extensive is your loss? Is it hairline work or crown work? True and Dorin are in NYC and while I didn't choose them I did consult with them. Dr. Feller is in great neck but for FUE, personally, I would not choose him. Ultimately I traveled to Canada to have my work done by dr. rahal because of his consistent hair line work. With this type of procedure it's imperative you get it right the first time. It took me nearly ten years to finally go through with a procedure partly because mine was limited to temporal recession and was relatively slow/stable. I'd suggest that you post some pics so we can give you a proper reco and advise you best. There are many many knowledgable guys here on the forum. Good luck.
