  1. Give it some time. Hopefully it will develop over the next few years to a viable option for people like us.
  2. While it is far from perfect or developed, it is good to know that the technology and research is a reality. Give it some time and hopefully the method can evolve into something that can be a realistic option for the majority of us.
  3. You are golden. I was really fearful even after I knew I couldn't damage the grafts. Try to relax.
  4. Totally normal. Don't be too rough. Gentle rubbing in the shower should help remove them. Mine were gone in about a week.
  5. Hi gb83. I had 2,050 or so grafts. I've been lucky and haven't had much shedding. Just waiting, waiting, waiting...
  6. I'm at just under three months and haven't personally noticed much growth. I saw a friend a couple days ago who knows about my HT and he said it looks like I'm starting to fill in and have more density. I hope he's right and things are starting to move along!
  7. I agree. My procedure ended up being less than I had expected to pay, but the quality was amazing. Price per graft will vary based on many factors. Once you get down to a super cheap $2/graft or so range, you have to expect that quality will go down and corners will be cut in order for the clinic to just keep its doors open. That is the scary part - what are they cutting back on in order to offer you that price. I personally don't want to find out.
  8. I may be the exception to that rule. I am extremely happily married and my wife couldn't care less about my hair thinning and balding. I actually had to talk her into letting me get my HT. It's purely about self-image and trying to like what I see in the mirror for me.
  9. I should clarify. If I was forty and was only as thin as I was prior to my HT, I probably would have been fine with it.
  10. Congrats! The recovery can be a bit uncomfortable, but you will be feeling great in no time! Hang in there!
  11. Very true. If I was already forty or fifty, I wouldn't have cared about my hairline and gone through a HT. If I make it to eighty, I won't care what the hell I look like!
  12. I am 9 and a half weeks post-op and have little shedding. I'd guess that about 50% of my grafted hairs have yet to shed. I'm not too worried about it. My only fear is that I may start to see some coverage and then the shed will hit me and I'll be back at square one. Oh well, time will tell...
  13. I got scabs around 10 days and they lasted for almost a week. Just be gentle with them while rubbing them off. Don't scratch!
  14. Looks like about where I was at your age. I'm 32 now and at a NW4a. You're probably at about a 3 now. Stay proactive about keeping your hair and head healthy. Could be a lot worse.
  15. Just over two months out. Just a tiny bit of redness remaining. My scalp is not oily, it's actually extremely dry. Kind of bugging me at this point.
  16. Wow. I've been trying to be really patient since my procedure with Dr. R. two months ago. After seeing this I just got super excited and wish I could fast forward the next eight months of my life.
  17. Good luck! Keep us posted after your procedure.
  18. Having sufficient vitamins in your body always helps with healing from any sort of illness/procedure. If you have been diagnosed with deficiencies, keep doing what a doctor has told you to.
  19. Do you dye your hair? Do you use hair products? Bad reaction to dye or hairspray chemicals sounds fairly believable.
  20. Try not to touch it much for a couple more days. At one week I had a ton of scabs forming. Some had some dried blood in them and all of them fell off within the next week or so. Totally normal. Just be gentle with them.
  21. Dude, you are a NW ZERO! Actually, you may be a NW negative 2, haha! Every single person on this forum would KILL for your dad's hairline at 50.
  22. But the Kirkland stuff is fairly cheap so that really shouldn't be much of a worry, right? I probably go through a can every three weeks or so.
  23. I use the kirkland foam and don't have any trouble getting it where it needs to go. The only issue is you will go through it quicker than the directed one-month-per-bottle rate if you are using it on all of your effected areas rather than just the crown.
  24. You MAY end up receding more as you age. However, you currently look like you have an amazing hairline that won't give you much trouble. My advice, enjoy it and don't worry. If you notice increased thinning in the next five years or so, then start thinking about taking some action.
  25. We've all seen tough time, buddy. Kinda seems like you're riding the pity train pretty hard right now. If you simply can't afford to do anything about your hair loss then a comb-over or shaved head sounds right up your alley. I went into some debt and saved and planned for over two years. No use throwing the little money you do have into a bad surgery. You'll end up looking no better (or worse) and be out a bunch of money. Do it right or don't do it at all.
