    Didn't your doctor give you a sheet of instructions? Mine said sleep with a neck pillow only the first 3 nights and I can take a normal shower again on day 5 but just lightly shampoo the grafts and stitches with my fingertips.

    Since this will be my second time around I'm thinking of just catching a plane back home (2 hr flight) the evening of my surgery. My girlfriend will be traveling with me. Terrible idea or no big deal? I figure it's no different than riding in a taxi or subway (which I did last time).

    Why would they be better at FUE in Turkey and India than in the US? That makes no sense.

    If you have already had one FUT and were pleased with the scar does having a second FUT come with the risk of a larger scar? Or can you expect more or less the same result the second time around? I guess I'm wondering if you've already had a moderate sized FUT are you locked in because you already have a scar or is there good reason to switch to FUE for the second round? Looking to fill in more of the crown this time.

    It's been about a year since I visited these forums. I had FUT done about a year ago and was considering another round. There seem to be quite a few posters on here now warning people against FUT and the dreaded scar. Have opinions changed in the last year on FUT vs. FUE or have I just stumbled across a few negative threads on FUT? Last I looked FUT was able to provide for a far higher number of grafts and the scar didn't seem to be such a big deal if done by a good doctor.

    Yikes, the picture with the head cut open is pretty gross. I'm glad I couldn't see what they were doing to me.

    Why do you say that? That's about what they told me going in. I suppose if you took a close look at my scalp you could see something but who's going to do that? I guess I'm also not one that cares if anybody knows.

    I thought this is done all the time? Cut out the old scar with the additional procedures?

    Noticeable for 4 months? I was fine after 10 days. I'd give a vote for Dr. True in NYC.

    Not sure this is being fair to Dr. Wesley. I didn't see him asking anyone on this forum for money. I'm met with Dr. Wesley and, while the scheduling didn't work out to have a HT with him, I found him to be a very honest and knowledgable doctor. I would be completely comfortable with him.

    I've read that applying minoxidil to the transplanted area may help speed the growth of the grafts. Once you reach a certain point, say 6 months, is there any point in continuing to apply minoxidil to the transplated hairs?

    You're only 6 days in and can actually see growth in the grafts (which will fall out)? That surprises me.

    Is it common for clinics to supplement a FUT session with some FUE to harvest additional grafts? If they do, would they take the FUE from areas where a future FUT harvest may be taken?

    I believe my instructions from my doctor said wait 2 weeks.

    Dr. Lindsey, what makes FUE hard? I had some done and the doctor would just poke my head with a drill type tool and an assistant would take the grafts. I trust what you're saying, just curious what makes it harder. To someone not knowledgable it seems easier than cutting a large strip of skin out of someone's head then sewing it back together.
