  1. Just back from BHR clinic Megasession with Dr Bisanga in Brussels. Strip procedure as follows: Total grafts: 4889 1 Hair: 926 2 Hair: 2038 3 Hair: 1403 4 Hair: 522 Time in chair: About 10 hours. Overall experience: Very positive. I researched for some time before choosing, and at this time feel I made the right choice. My photo album is here, containing pre and post procedure photos I had a lot of grafts. I explained to Dr Bisanga that I didn't want to get a lot of procedures, but would prefer to get as much done in one sitting as possible as I basically just want to get back on with my life. Having the procedure causes too much disruption for me. Initially he said 3500-4000 grafts would be all that was possible, but on the day I was shown to have very good laxity and more was possible. I'll post pictures of the donor area in a few days once I've got someone to take the photos. Considering the length of the procedure I don't feel too bad, but I'm pretty tired. The post-op photos where taken about 18 hours after the procedure.
  2. That's a vast improvement, and shows what you can do with a modest number of grafts. What went wrong with the first procedure with the other surgeon - no growth?
  3. As has been said before, there's a lot of area to cover for less than 4000 grafts - but it is coming along nicely. Do you have thick hair on the donor area?
  4. Thanks all for the reassurance. I'm considering a stay of an extra day, but either way it sounds like I should be fine. Bandanas ordered, thanks so much for the tips.
  5. Hi all, 9 weeks until I get a 3500 graft strip treatment with Bisanga/BHR in Belgium. All of a sudden I'm panicking about the journey home. I plan to fly back home to the UK the day after the procedure. Is this wise? Sorry if these are dumb questions, but: - I'll have to wear a hat of course. How reasonable is that 18 hours after the procedure? - Do I risk pulling out any of the grafts I've paid to have put in? Really looking for some advice here, particularly from those that have had a lot of grafts in one session. If I can be at home that is obviously what I want.
  6. Hi Guys After having 2 consultations in Belgium recently I've almost decided on Dr Bisanga/BHR and am about to pay a deposit. I'm going for FUT, looking to get around 4000 grafts. Any thoughts/comments are welcome on Dr Bisanga. The consultation was very thorough. The density of hair carefully measured, as well as the laxity of my skin. A few more measurements, and he had an idea of the coverage he could get. I've seen plenty of before/after work, and like the work I've seen. As I said, if you have comments please make them.
  7. Hi Levrais Thanks for posting. After visiting Belgium for 2 consultations, I've pretty much settled on Bisanga for my strip procedure. Can I ask you: - has your experience been positive? The results you've got look great btw. - did Bisanga do your first procedure and what prompted you to go back again? Cheers,
  8. Hi Guys I've got face-to-face consultations tomorrow with 2 Doctors in Belguim. - Any tips for questions I should ask? - Should I expect them to examine my hair for density etc? Any comments and guidance are welcome to make sure I get the most out of it.
  9. Simply beyond excellent, you look great.
  10. Thanks for posting Waisal. I have my consultation with Dr Devroye in 2 weeks time or so and will be watching your progress with interest - not many of his patients seem to post on here (or anywhere) which has been a bit of a concern for me. Thank you for posting, you are looking good for 5 weeks.
  11. Most people do not, it seems, have side effects. I on the other hand: - Prostate pain. This was absolutely linked to the drug. Take it, even in reduced quantities, get pain. Stop taking it, pain goes away. Reduce the dose, problem reduces. - Sexual side effects. Loss of libido that does not go away when you stop taking the drug. The chances are you'll be part of the large group not affected. But if you experience side effects, my personal advice is stop. Furthermore, I don't believe the long-term effects are well enough understood as there have need no studies over (say) 20 years. That's not to say that there will be problems, just that until studies are completed we won't know. Google 'propecia impotence' for more stories.
  12. Hi Keith I'm really glad I saw this, as I'm seriously considering Dr Rahal and it's your hair pattern pre-op looks very similar to my own. I've not seen anyone else looking red like that after 3 months. Is it normal? On the plus side, it looks like you've got a lot of transplanted hair coming through where there was no hair at all before. Hang in there.
  13. I complete t***er of a customer I have to deal with regularly has slung a lot of comments about my thinning hair in the past year and I've had to just suck it down. He clearly has worked out I'm a bit sensitive about it (not good at laughing it off). 'All the men in my family have no problem with that' he says. He's 28, I'm 46. He's had his hair cut, and guess what? He's a NW1.5 - absolutely classic profile. I haven't been able to stop smiling all day.
  14. Glad I found this thread. You look similar to me pre-op, but your results are fantastic. Have you managed to stop smiling at all this past few months?
  15. Thanks for all the replies, for the encouragement, and for the doctor lists. As requested, I've added a picture of the crown to my profile. Crown pic To answer the questions that have come up: - Donor hair area is nice and thick, with dense hair. - Considering strip, as the scar doesn't bother me and I have good hair there. Thanks for the help, I'll be following-up with the Doctors mentioned.
  16. Hi I've been a long-time lurker on this forum, happy to be posting, I'm looking for feedback and comments. A picture of my hairline is on my photo album. My pre-op state Backstory: 46 years old male, I've had a receding hairline since I was about 22 - so it's been very gradual over the years. There has been no speed-up in the rate of hair loss, it may have slowed down a bit. I'm physically fit and in good health, happily married, and run a business which is doing well. Propecia - I can't take it. I suffered from prostate pain and other unpleasant side effects including some sexual. Reducing the dose to 1 mg every other day still didn't work. Regaine/Rogaine - This is quite effective for me. I have booked a consultation with Dr Devroye based on what I've read here. I will post my progress as I go forwards. So far Dr Devroye's staff have handled me very professionally. What I want: The thinning at the crown to be dealt with, and a lower hairline. I don't expect at all to go back to a full head of hair, or anything close. Questions. 1. How good a hair transplant candidate am I in your opinion? 2. I'd like to consult just one additional physician - but who? I've ruled out Farjo. I live in the UK close to a regional airport and have good access to Western Europe, the New York Metropolitan area and some cities in Canada east of and including Toronto. For physicians in North America I really would want to have an online consult, then just go out for a face-top-face consultation hopefully followed by a HT a few days later (based on the outcome of the consultation obviously). I have contacted Dr. Bijan Feriduni but have not received a response or acknowledgement.
