  1. Hi everyone, Due to popular demand, here are some pictures I just took. Certainly not as good as Dr. Rahal, but should give you an idea. Density is pretty good everywhere except the crown which is still pretty thin. But overall it makes a world of difference and I'm very happy with the results. cheers, Stellar
  2. Hi folks, Here are some pictures taken earlier this month. (March 1st 2011) I've very happy with the progress and everyone which has seen me before is amazed at the results so far. It's really making a big difference when looking from the front. Looking forward to further growth in the next months!
  3. > Your description does sound a bit of an ordeal, and it looks like there was > quite a bit of swelling. The face swelling wasn't actually that bad. It did swell a little for 3-4 days but from what I understand, this was relatively minor, especially considering the size of the precedure. > certainly wasn't sick either I was pretty neauseated the first night but really got sick after I tried taking the "strong" pain killers. After that I stuck with Tylenols 3s instead and I was fine. At leat for me, the pain wasn't very intense anyway. My personal experience was that the restrictions (sleep at a 45 degree angle, no "real" shower, don't touch the hairs, etc.) and the "maintenance" (ex.: clean and put vitamine E twice a day) were more annoying than the procedure itself or the pain. After a month now, most of the restrictions are lifted which feels very good. I was really looking forward to get to that point.
  4. > What's the deal with pictures 13 and 15? Is it just a lighting difference? > You look much balder in 13 than you did in 15. Yeah, I think 15 is more representative than 13. As you said, the lighting in 13 makes it looks like I was almost completely bald. > Also, can you post some side shots? The one of you post op seems > to show an already extremely thin scar, and I'm curious to see how it's > coming along after such a large session. I have attached two pictures of the scar I just took.
  5. It's been a bit more than 3 weeks and here are some pictures taken earlier today. As you can see, as expected, lots of the hairs (and scabs) have fallen off by now. Dr. Rahal said that everything looks good so now it's really just a matter of waiting. Really looking forward to see how things progress over the next months!
  6. I concur with Michael5577. I'm very happy with how things are going at the moment, both in terms of procedure and follow up. Dr Rahal and the entire team are very professional and friendly. (Special thanks to Mike.)
  7. Hi myeddula51, In terms of scalp exercices, I indeed performed the ones suggested by Dr. Rahal almost religiously. (15 min for the back and 15 min for the sides twice a day) It took an hour of my life every day for almost a month, but looks like it was very beneficial.
  8. Hi folks, It's been 10 days and I got a checkup with Dr. Rahal today. He told me that things are looking very good and on track. Getting the sutures removed next Monday and I'm really looking forward to this milestone. I will post updated pictures when I have some.
  9. Got my transplant done on Nov 8th 2010 by Dr. Rahal (in Ottawa). Grafts details: Total grafts: 6228 1’s – 835 2’s – 3508 3’s – 1792 4’s – 93 Total hairs: 13599 The entire procedure went from 6h45am until around 7pm which I understand is relatively fast for such a large number of grafts. The procedure itself was long but relatively painless (thank you local anesthetic) although my neck got pretty sore after so much time laying back. But the staff was realy nice and accomodating so overall I had a very positive experience. I brought two DVDs to pass time but ended up being too dizzy to complete the second one. The first night was not so good and I didn't manage to get any sleep. It was the dizziness and neausea which kept me awake more than the actual pain. (I ended up vomiting several times during the night.) The fact that you can't lay down to sleep didn't help either. I felt much better the next day and went for a checkup. They removed the bandages and things look okay but now the face swelling started. After 2 days the pain is almost gone and I don't need painkillers anymore. Went to see Dr Rahal for another follow up and it looks like the healing process is going fine so far. Going back on Friday for another checkup. In the meantime, it's mainly a matter of resting (at a 45 degree angle), doing the proper hair washing steps and taking the medication.
