  1. In brief I'm at a stage now where after a decade of small-medium multi procedures cheaply done with average results nothing spectacular but which I am fairly content with I'm now facing planning my last ever procedure. I have previously had 4 strip ht done of 250graft, 1500 graft, 1000 graft, 1000 graft done and a fue of 1000 grafts. One thing I have never understood and my big question here is in regards to the finite nature of head donor hair from the safe zone,.......when people on here refer to strip supply being finite what do they mean exactly? Once the donor hair in one strip is supposedly finished, can the doc not just cut another strip lower down in the safe area at the back of the head? Im planning a last strip procedure and after so much donor hair (assuming previous surgeons were honest)being used already im guessing i have little left in the existing strip Please advise
  2. Please kindly try and think before u just blurt things like that out as it derails the information newbies and people are gathering to make an informed choice. Thanks :-)
  3. Thanks hairsgone for your kind advice. I hope your hair transplant is a great success!
  4. Hi Well after a series of hair transplants elsewhere with 1 surgeon that that produced mixed to poor results im looking to do one last HT. I am looking for a reputable and rated on these pages HT doc in Turkey who can do the strip method. Please no suggestions for FUE its not something I'm interested in as I had a previous FUE and have my reasons. Please can those who have had successful HT's in Turkey give a recommendation. It seems from trawling these pages most of the reviews for turkey are FUE its Strip only im after. I have had prior strip procedures
  5. I just don't think fin is what it is cracked out to be. It has terrible side effects even at a lose dose in my experience. I first tried it back in 2011 took the standard 1mg pill quickly had sexual dysfunction sides (less libido, delayed ejac,,erectile dysfunction) I persevered for 6 months but did not see any tangible difference in what was by that point very non aggressive mpb. Later I tried 0.5mg and even 0.33mg a day (tablets broken up by me) for long durations of 4 and 6 months and again it was not worth it, very little obvious improvement in thickness and new hair forget about it. Fin is a very dangerous drug and is 1 drug that really should be prescription only What's not mentioned on here is it has a link to birth defects. Nurses are not allowed to even come in contact with it.
  6. To thread starter. I think you look good u have a good amount of hair. You had 3 ht"s two of them were duds or with non accredited doctors. Mohmand openly says he doesnt give density rather the illusion of density.listen to his videos on YouTube.he is a decent doctor not the best but decent youll get some improvement at a good price with him,the other two it seems maybe not. Hair transplants if in the right hands ( a modern proffesional doctor as recommended on this site ) definitely work.i know that for sure personally and in the many others ive seen in person Those who had them fail typically had work done in the 90s and very early 2000s with lousy doctors. I do think a lot of us on here ,me included in the past see things far worse than they actually are and are our hairs own worst critics. Id disagree with u ,most people look very good bald shaven ,its been the modern style for 15 years. I personally think people should get ht"s at 25 and plus.these years 25 -35 are v important go to a recommended doctor or there are plenty of non recommended doctors in turkey and pakistan who are cheap, proffesional and give good results like mohmand.just avoid the snake oil, butchers and immoral conmen in the uk and the usa, and europe .recently ive heard of a new outfit in the uk going around offering hts in the south asian community with no training no certificates etc all under the banner of a beauty salon! .AVOID Anyway best of wishes bud
  7. Guys im on my 5th procedure and 6 weeks ago i was at all your stages.....and it never gets easier......its always the same..... You have the op. (My regular surgeon always cuts donor from under existing hair and places amongst existing hair).and i initially after the op despite receipent area loss......... post op up to 3 weeks u look good .............for 3 weeks.........this 3 weeks gives u a glimpse at what could be....than BOOM always at a few days after week 3 u get major loss of all implanted grafts and more shock loss in recipient....suddenly u look worse than pre op!......and the ugly duckling stage (where u look worst than b4 op ) has begun ,and by week 6 and 7 ur getting impatient....wondering when things will turn the other way... in every one of my procedures bar one..... the ugly duckling phase has lasted from week 3 to until 2.5 months......than b4 u know it u quickly start getting back the pre op hair and by 3 months ur cool with how u almost look like u did b4 the procedure.......and by 3 and a half months your back to your pre op self.....and your thinking well that wasnt too bad after all . Im now at 3 months 3 weeks and i guess now is where the new growth in recipient really starts god willing Ive come out of it but only 6 weeks ago despite my prior experience i was also on these forums looking for other peoples reassurance on the ugly duckling phase. I still have a big bald donor patch but i cover it with a comb over and i havnt seen any real new growth but this is normal at 3 .5 months Hell the last time month 14 up to month 16 post op i saw significant thickening and maturing of the hair from the roughness and perhaps even some new growth im pretty sure So relax guys.
  8. Its looking good already quite a cool look brushed back but in a short cropped way.i can see it thickening up a lot and looking great.good going for such a early phase!
  9. Exactly if we are going to compare ,some of the most handsome and charasmatic mwn on earth are bald...some have hair....some old....some young....every human has an inate ability for beauty,warmth,personality....all the rhings that draw others in. Sam u really need to learn how to relax, keep a correct perspective, realise your anxiety is nonsense....before u had a phobia about being bald...now after surgery u have the view bald is better and want ur new hair lasered off. I would as someone in the medical field recommend a supplement vitamin b12 which helps tremendously with stabilising mood swings like this. Than u should take a good look at the world its full of all kibds of people who find happiness in the small things.....in the scheme of things our hair is really not that important , nobody is really looking at it that much or negatively. U may be suffering some form of ocd....but again u must learn to change ur attitude to a realistic positive one and just say Stop to these thoughts and reject them....they will soon pass
  10. Sam your hysterical and have lost a grip on reality and given in to the negative fantasies when u posted this. Reread bill and the previous gentlemans poats that helped to regain a grip last time. Im sure u looked good before, and now ,and u will later too when u get more growth. Just relax. Its clear at times u get ocd and body dysmorphia and thats okay its not the reality u just got to reject those thoughts as nonsense and learn to think positively,in the monent and leave god to look after the future.
  11. I suffered dramatic hairloss and thinning at age 24 to 25 after that its never got worse and im 39 now.ive had the multiple ht"s but the origional hairloss at the front never got worse it never spread into the crown.....just because u get some hairloss doesnt mean its,all going to go.the vast majority of the public who have never gone near a ht never touched propecia are like that. My huge mistake was starting indiscriminate steroid and testosterone use between my first 3 hts and last 2. 2 years of steroid use took its toll, all it took was one bad batch of gear and one overdose cycle.
  12. Hi and welcome. I have had 5 smallish hair transplants and am at 9 weeks post ht for the most recent which will be my last. So id say yes your plan for smaller multi ops is viable. But from personal experience id say try and have a sizeable one the first time.and avoid multi multi ops if u can . In reality i should have only ever had 2 but doing it the way i have each has added something My first was a pathetic 250grafts fut with rogers in one temple.than 750 grafts at the much maligned nobel clinic. Thing is i had success with both.my expectations were reasonable The third was a cheap but very semi succesfull 2200 graft fue in pakistan which is the one i regret most The other two have been with a different doc mohmand in pakistan who has a first class luxury set up in the very glamorous city of islamabad but who is a fairly quiet presence but has a great friendly support staff and technicians so i would recommend him.he is inexpensive and i had a result with him the first time and hope to again. My point is do your research here and if u can see a feller or some of the other recommended doctors on here.but there are some great doctors in places like india, pakistan and turkey too that are cheaper but have high quality work and results In a nutshell the best of luck .your head looks fine as it is now but if u wish to proceed best of luck theres some great members on here who can answer and advise better than me
  13. Just seeing him now in test v pakistan.its abundantly clear hes had a ht his hair is far bigger voluminous now.great result.why should there be. Uproar in the gutter press.tons of sportsmen have had it done and its not a rooney case where he was more or less bald. This, was a typical ht case same,as the cesc fabregas one where people just improve on ecisting hair.either way its none of their business
  14. But first u need to chill, relax and get a grip on some perspective. I just looked at your pics.it looks like a clean ,densely packed job.i think your going to get a great result
  15. Sam ....a surgery where u take any kind of anasthesia is a major big deal on the body and mind Google post surgery depression. Anasthesia is a terrible thing The remedy that few know of and these callous doctors dont mention......is vitamin b12. Take vitamin b12 daily. Your depression will go away god willing
  16. An absolute pleasure reading your initial travelogue in the garden with some chillie and lime chocolate on this beautiful autumn day in england ! And also congratulations on a great result half way through.u look great and heres praying for an even more marvellous result at 12 months Dr bhatti seems a very caring and inclusive doctor. Ive just had my 4th and last ( 5 if u count 250grafts at rogers in 2006) ht also on the subcontinent and am at 7 weeks, with a huge bald chunk at the donor, prematurely and sudden post surgical greying hair on the temples and massive shock loss in the recipient but i feel calm as this is my third ht with the same doctor i used prior and he"s cheap and u get a naturalish result of some progress even if he is incredibly arrogant and rushes in and out, but im sitting calm as ive had shock loss before.but thanks to this board i now know of dr bhatti and thanks again for such a reassuring and inspiring thread!
  17. I think it looks, good for 3 months.the work seems very clean and smart ( definetly in comparison to the numerous cheap hts ive had in pakistan). I think this will be a great result for u buddy im praying
  18. I didnt want to start another thread so i wanted to clarify here if thats ok. What if post HT (fut no head shave, fair amount of hair still covering head but a patch totally exposed where hairline was lowered) u cant avoid being out in the sun for a couple of hours with no hat ,and u do get a mild suntan on your face but u never feel burning on the scalp just mild to medium sun heat and u never get sun burned, just the unexposed scalp area gets sun tanned? I live in the uk so its hardly blistering sun more 16-20 degrees centigrade.........have i still put the ht at risk?
  19. Of my 5 HT procedures.......during 2 of them i had severe temporary shockloss at the recipient area allied with temporary bald patches in the donor area. On top of this there was severe and sudden graying/whitening of hair on the sides of my head.im currently experiencing this on my latest HT.im hoping its temporary again this time. Last time it happened i was 34 and had very very little to no grey hair prior. Post op the hair went v grey on sides but when i would tweeze it out id see the hair black at the front, silver in the middle, and the root coming out black again...indicating the ht op and 3 or 4 week post op period of head trauma had turned it grey. And so it is again this time im seeing same pattern Only now at age 38 im hoping it isnt permanent this time Anyone else get this?
  20. That sounds about right tommy gun, altho as u say cases vary. In my last ht id say the following occured: 12 months -16 months= 85-100% with a lot of hair straightning thickning too
  21. That looked a super clean densely packed job from the 6 days post op.even than i knew it was gonna be good despite the lack of 3 months progress... That is what a ht result should be every time for 3000 plus grafts of your norwood scale The hair doesnt look wiry ,dry, kinky like much of the results in the subcontinent.
