Two milestones for me in July. Month 10 for a HT, and turning 50 as well. I normally wouldn't post a shot like this, but wanted to stress how important it is for anyone that is ever considering a hair transplant to think about a complete transformation and lifestyle change. Don't let it ever end with just a hair transplant! If you're going to get one, then you certainly care about how you look, so take it to the next level and transform your body, transform how healthy you feel and how good you look from head to toe, not just your head.☺️

You can see a vast difference in the indoor shot comparatively to the outdoor. I purposely waited until the sun was slightly setting later in the afternoon, so the sun would shine right thru my hairline and expose the transplant as much as possible. Indoors under low lighting, it's incredible how thick and dense it looks, but under that condition outside, that illusion of density diminishes big time.

Overall, I'm extremely happy with the work done by Eugenix, but no hair transplant is ever perfect. I do have some areas where the density is definitely weaker, the areas where I had scabbing very little grew. Those areas luckily were very small, but still affect how I style my hair so as to not expose them.

The temple points look great for the first go, especially considering that I had zero temples going in, however the left side is lighter on density than the right. Don't get me wrong still looks great, but it grew just a little unbalanced.

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Dr Pradeep, Dr Arika and family in NYC this month. It was a very memorable day for me and a little surreal considering that I only know them from India and now they were right around the corner from me. Such inspirational and beautiful people through to the core!☺️ We spoke also about the potential of a 2nd procedure. Outlined my goals of adding density in existing recipient area on hairline and temple points, lowering hairline slightly, extending temple point slightly. They assessed my donor and said I have more than enough for a very aggressive approach on a 2nd procedure. They predicted extending my hairline at 1000 grafts, the existing recipient area at 1000 additional grafts for added density, and temple peaks at 200 grafts total for both sides. So a total of 2762 grafts for the first procedure and 2200 for the 2nd = 4900 +- grafts total.

My concern was that I may blow thru all my donor, but they assured me that even after 4900 grafts I still have plenty left in the bank if I ever need a procedure down the road. My plan is to make this my last procedure, but it's nice to know that I still have plenty more scalp to pull from and all of my beard in case anything ever happens over the years.

I'm scheduled in October for number 2 and can't wait! The hope and dream for me would be an end result that future proofs for a lifetime and regardless of hairstyle, lighting, how long or short, how wet or dry, the illusion of density always remains constant.

Armen, bro wow I am so thrilled for you! Seems like yesterday we were chatting about how you had a surgery planned. Time flies!

It came out great!!!! Looks so good!!! Goes to show how research and planning can set you up for success!

Dude, I actually went to the gym on my off day to get some extra reps in after seeing how swole you are hahaha.

Congratulations on the new hair and body! Makes me very happy to see good people like you getting great outcomes. Another Eugenix success story!!!!

They just said it potentially damaged an important area of the donor region. I guess they'd have to get a good evaluation in-person to gauge, but the scar doesn't look good. I was shopping earlier today and trying on some clothes in a booth that had a mirror where I could see the back of my head. I could see my scar and the area around it looked pretty patchy and I haven't had a hair cut in weeks. It's going to be a real pain in the ass to cover that up when I get older.

I had a pretty stretched FUT scar that was nearly impossible to conceal. Dr. Maras at HDC implanted 300 grafts across the entire length of the scar and it grew in great! I don’t think about it at all any more.

So don’t worry. Between SMP, scar revision, or FUE’ing directly into scar itself, there are options if you choose to address it somewhere down the road.

  3. Hi, everyone! Sorry it’s been so long without any pics! I just passed the 1 year mark, so thought it would be good to post a little update!

I promise, I will do a proper update, without any fibers in. I don’t put in much but it needs to be pointed out that these photos include them! But I was just thinking of you all and wanted to post a quick set of photos I just took of how I wear my hair on a daily basis.

As it stands now, I cut my own hair (which I’m sure is very obvious! :) ). Usually around an inch and a half on the top, and a 5 grade on the sides and back.

After I wash it, I towel dry it, put in some Rogaine, blow-dry it a bit, then work in some Aveda clay. To finish it off, I put a touch of fibers in the thinnest areas, which are the scab area, just behind the left front of my hairline, and a little above the temples in both of my part lines.

All in all I’m extremely satisfied and believe this is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. Is it perfect? No. You’ll see this in the next batch of photos I post. But it has FAR exceeded my hopes and most days, I don’t think about my hair at all.

I hope you’re all doing well. Thanks for everything HRN, Doron and HDC!

  4. Hi everyone, thanks for keeping in touch on my progress!

Wow, a lot in my life has changed since my last update. In the beginning of December I took a 3 week vacation to Guatemala to visit my girlfriend….

And well, now she’s my fiancé and I’m still here. :)

The last couple of months I’ve been trying to establish myself in Central America, and man oh man has it been tough! It’s very difficult for a foreigner to get work so I’ve been very busy trying to attain something.

All in all though we are extremely happy together. With her and this transplant I feel like the luckiest man alive.

Regarding the hair, I’m so thrilled! It’s not perfect by any means and has some weak spots, but with a little bit of fibers and some styling cream, I don’t think about my hair at all anymore. I’d say it looks about the same or maybe slightly denser and less kinky since the last update, but I will definitely take some new photos when I don’t have any fibers in.

I’ll be back soon for sure with a proper update and thank you to HDC, Doron and this community for everything.

@MazAB Looking good, bro. I’m still following your journey even though I’m not posting and dude you look so damn good!!! And @Melvin- Moderatorand @Doron Haraticongrats on the latest ops! You both seem to be healing well and have such incredible hair as it is, it’s going to be crazy to see how you both end up!

Incredible turnaround brother! You look awesome! More importantly congrats on finding that special person in your life. That'll carry you a lot further than any hair transplant could. 😉

Thanks so much, man. I feel like I can finally live in the moment again. Enjoy the small details. Be 100% myself again. The perfect time to meet the perfect partner.

It’s very freeing and a testament to how much head space thinking about your hair can take up.

It’s a gift you can’t really put a price tag on. Like a weight’s been taken off my shoulders. The best money I ever spent for sure.

  6. 6 Month Update

Hey guys. Boy, has time flown. October 6th marked the 6th month point of my transplant with Dr. Maras. I sent some photos to @Doron Harati, and he was kind enough to put together some side by side shots of my pre-op state and my state now.

    14821727-A688-4EDB-B3D9-E9FD6E0E68A7.thumb.jpeg.50d4f95283226ae97b1c453823168b3a.jpeg070B2BD4-BB6E-4A09-B42F-AF45B1620A4E.thumb.jpeg.8c08772003c3cc4623cb132742d87eab.jpegECE43248-38AC-411E-997A-B4FBE8EDC82C.thumb.jpeg.f25ec0752bab11a68c0d3f989579ea41.jpegA40477FD-4958-4C3E-B74D-D93917B37E71.thumb.jpeg.81107f2e291257cb1497736839cd2e41.jpeg

I have to say, the results so far have been life changing. That important trip I had planned for October? Well, that was to meet a girl in person that I met online about a year ago. She is now officially my girlfriend. :)

There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t feel blessed and grateful to Doron, Dr. Maras, and the rest of the staff at HDC.

Is the transplant perfect? No. I wish the frontal hairline was denser and for the scab area to fill in. And I look forward to the hairs maturing and being less kinky. But with a little bit of fibers (which I’m not wearing in the photos), I don’t think about my hair anymore. This is a gift that is priceless to me.

Although overall everything is still thin and see through, its completely normal at this stage.

Another good story: I got my last iprf shot (3rd in a series) done 2 days ago at the local BHR branch and the doctor was very interested in me returning in 3 months(6 month mark) to observe Maras’s result. He added to say that Maras work is some of the best, which was a very positive thing to hear.

I will keep this update at 4 months.

It’s great to hear Dr. Maras has a good reputation amongst elite surgeons! He deserves it! He’s one of the best there is no doubt!

My friend, you are WAY ahead of the curve here. This is gonna be a home run for sure. Every update is just better and better. Enjoy the new hair. I look forward to the next update!

In my humble opinion it might be worth a try to bring the tip of the temple triangles a little further back, making your corners look less receded. I know it is typical to chose  the end of the eyebrow as a reference, but this makes a quite sharp angle for the temple in your case.

Same for the hairline IMO. The middle peak is to far down and for my personal taste are more concave hairline would be more appropriate too. But this is really a matter of taste.

I think @Gasthoerer has some really sound advice here.

The entire design is very good, and aesthetically pleasing, but it seems a bit too aggressive to me. I’d bring the center of the hairline back a bit so it’s rounded a bit more and doesn’t come down as far, then bring everything back from there slightly too.

Bald scalp requires a ton of densely packed grafts. With your current design, if it only comes out so-so, you’ll likely have to go back into the same area in the future. You can always lower it if this op takes well.

Personally I think you should take a more conservative approach, but you’re in good hands regardless of whatever design you decide you’re happy with.

Hi again, everyone. It’s been exactly 20 weeks since my surgery. I shot these yesterday for the clinic and figured I’d post them here for you guys as well.

Every day the hair seems to be thickening up. The growth the last few weeks has been crazy! I have to say, I feel like a new man, and am incredibly grateful to everyone on the HDC team. @Doron Harati, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything brother.

It’s not to say I wouldn’t like to see improvements in some areas, in the hairline and right temple mainly (not to mention the scab area, which doesn’t really have any hair due to the trauma). But, if this ended up being my final result, I have to say, I’m extremely satisfied.

And just to think…I have a many more months of growth and maturation left…wow, just wow. I couldn’t be happier.

Jokes aside, I remember when I went out without a hat for the first time in years and it is such a awesome feeling. Very liberating and your confidence definitely shoots up.

Definitely. My best friend saw my hair for the first time since the op yesterday and he was astonished. Non-stop fist bumps and “bro…bro…bro I can’t believe it” hahaha.

Such an amazing thing. Such an incredible gift HDC has given me.

To be fair, I know it will look worse when I do the normal poses on my deck. I’ll need to prepare emotionally for that. But as Doron told me, the “frame” is established now, and it’s only going to get better from here. Exciting times.

  11. Hi everyone. I just wanted to post a quick 4.5ish month update, as I’ve had a few people ask how I’ve been doing.

The last few weeks my hair has been growing and thickening up like crazy. It’s like wow…I feel like a million bucks. :)

Here’s a selfie I took a couple days ago with my hair styled a bit (in admittedly favorable lighting conditions and a bit of accidental lens flare).

    4930DA0D-45F1-41B9-B34F-F377C3C8723E.thumb.jpeg.7008627d783a226f576f0581b7c80786.jpeg

Some areas are still lagging behind a bit…and my scab area is still red and bald…but with how thick the other hair is getting, I can finally do something with it and go out without a hat now. It’s an incredible feeling.

I’ll try to post a proper update in my normal lighting conditions, and show all the angles and stuff at my 5 month mark. But I have to say, I am thrilled at this point without a doubt. This is going to be life changing.

  12. @UnbaldEagle Hi again brother. I’m very sorry to hear what you’re going through. I know what it feels like to take the plunge in having a transplant in the first place. The insecurity. The jealousy of friends with hair. The fear of wind and rain. Wanting to be more attractive to potential mates. Like a part of you is missing.

And all we want is for the transplant to fill those holes; even just a little bit.

If you feel comfortable, I’d love to see some pictures. Sometimes we can be our own worst critic. And just know you can message me at any time.

I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart and hope you can find some peace on this topic.

  13. Awesome! I’m so happy for you buddy. I appreciate all the support you’ve given me throughout my journey and I look forward to following yours!!!

I know you’ve done a ton of research and I believe you are in the right hands. I’m thrilled that you were able to arrange getting this done sooner than planned. Wow, it’s right around the corner. So cool. :)

  14. Wow what a transformation! I’m very excited for you and appreciate everything you do for the forum and for your patients.

2 quick questions. What would you say would be a realistic goal percentage for graft survival in a non-virgin scalp when revisiting an area?

If you had had scarring alopecia, could the surgery have commenced as planned? If so, what would the challenges and expectations have been?

Again, thanks for all you do. I’m very excited for you. You look amazing at just 5 months.
