  1. The dots under the hairline on the forehead? I assume those are injection sites, no?
  2. Definitely! They seem to be a very ethical clinic, have mastery of both FUE and FUT, are IAHRS members and have a very large sample of patient provided results.
  3. I don’t know if these pictures are a true indication of what you’re scalp looked like within the immediate days post op, but it makes me wonder if there was some bruising, or really rough scabs, which in my case (and some others I’ve seen), hindered growth in the area. However, I also notice that once the scabs came off for you, the recipient area looked very clean, so it’s tough to say. Do you have any more photos from this period of time, before the scabs came off? Your right temple looks especially rough here in this sequence of photos, as do some other areas, but it’s possible it’s just the reflection from your camera making it look this way? I also see they prescribed you an anti-inflammation medicine. Did they tell you why they want you on this so many months post op? Do you have any untreated scalp conditions?
  4. I think he’s saying that the X button is covering the mail icon, so he can’t physically click on the mail icon link. This happens to me too on iPhone (using Safari).
  5. Personally, I think if you’re not finding enough real customer results to make you feel comfortable with a clinic, you should skip them. Hair transplantation is a permanent surgery. You can’t un-ring the bell. A botched surgery or bad result is much much worse than doing nothing at all.
  6. Hi, Zerocool! At 3.5 months, virtually none of my shocked hair had begun to grow back. Looks like you’re seeing some growth though, which is great! For me, I wasn’t until around 5-5.5 months before I began to notice the overall improvement, and felt like I was beginning to be in a better position than before surgery. Try not to think about it too much until you reach the 5 and 6 month marks. I know it’s easier said than done. I wore a hat during the period you’re in now and don’t think I felt like I could take it off in public until almost exactly 5.5 months. And even then, I knew I was in a better position, but I still felt uneasy about it. Remember, we all grow at slightly different speeds, but 3.5 months is still very very early.
  7. I’m having a hard time viewing the video on Dropbox on my phone. Can you post any pre-op and immediately post op photos here? At 8 weeks, if you’re saying you had natural hair there before the surgery, I’d say this is probably shock loss. Feel free to take a look at my thread of my journey at HDC. I lost almost ALL of my hair. Not just the transplanted hair (which is normal), but almost all of my native hair too (or previously transplanted hair from like 8 years earlier). I’d say just about all of it grew back, but it took like 5-6 months. Follow your post-op protocols, and keep in touch with your surgeon/clinic. Hang in there. This is a long ride.
  8. I’m confused by this. What do you mean by taken in “phase 1?” What do mean by “the rest were broken?” Do you mean they were transected? Or just not very good grafts? If grafts were transected or if the surgeon didn’t pick the very best grafts from the donor, I don’t see how the surgery could be considered “successful.” Can you please clarify?
  9. Wow! You look great @Doron Harati!!!!! Awesome! That’s a nice haircut too. Thanks for sharing!
  10. It’s coming along nicely! This is a long ride and the next few months are the worst part. I look forward to following your updates!
  11. Awesome video! You look incredible Armen. For real. Even without another procedure, the transplant came out so good! Congratulations on the killer result and thanks for what you bring to the forum. I look forward to following your second journey!
  12. Have you asked Dr. Barghouthi about these hairs, and gotten his opinion on what to do about them? I’ve seen posts from the past recommending to pull gently on them. That if they come out really easily, it’s ok because they are dead grafts (which hopefully will let new hairs grow through). I am NOT saying to do this. I think it’s best for both of you to ask your docs. Since your Doc is in this forum, maybe he could clear this up (at least for you!)?
  13. Thanks! It looks really great after all this time! I definitely don’t think you need another transplant! The thing for me, because I considered just working on the scar first, was justifying shaving my head, getting a whole FUE done and not just do the top also while I was in the chair. Granted, I was in a much much worse spot than you when I did my scar, so I can definitely see myself doing exactly what you’re thinking (just doing the scar) if I was you too. Thanks again for the photos. Your hair looks really good.
  14. How do we actually answer the poll? I don’t see a way to cast my vote. I’ve never had any side effects.
  15. Hi, Doron! I didn’t scroll up to see your post before I made my post just now hahaha. Thanks for sharing the photos! Hope you’re doing well with your latest surgery! Looking forward to your next update! It’s coming along great so far!
  16. Thanks, Petchski! Yeah, my recipient hair did calm down quite a bit. I find it’s still a bit frizzy, especially after a blow dry, but some conditioner and pomade really softens it, makes it easier to style, and helps with the illusion of density too. I realize I didn’t document my scar too much here, so below I’ll add some photos. The first three are before’s and the last two are after’s. Both with a grade 5. My scar stretched a lot and was visible below an 8 grade. I’ve cut it down to a 4 and you still can’t see it (a trained eye probably can but I can’t). I haven’t tried to go shorter, but I think I probably could. I’m very happy with it. I checked out your thread but didn’t see any “final” photos from your op with Lorenzo. How’s it going now? Still holding up?
  17. Normal scalp donor hair. The grafts are a bit “chunky,” so I think a trained eye could still find the line if they were looking for it. But all in all I love that I don’t have to think about the scar anymore. And I think the survival rate was damn near 100% (in my opinion, not counted by the doc), when I was told anything over 80% in scar tissue would be a success. Definitely thrilled with it! I’m not sure if Maras works with beard grafts though. @Doron Harati ?
  18. I had 300 FUE grafts placed into my scar, which was stretched quite a bit, by Dr. Maras at HDC and it came out great! You can see my donor area in my thread if you’re curious.
  19. Hi, Yan Bio! I had my surgery with HDC, led by Dr. Maras, back in April 2021. The results have been incredible, but I did have some issues with a bruise that ended up bleeding shortly after my surgery. As hopeful as I was that the grafts had anchored at that stage, unfortunately, 1.5 years later, not only did the bruised/bleeding area not grow any grafts, but the hair I had there originally before the surgery (which wasn’t much) never really grew back either. HDC has offered to fix this area for me for free, which I may eventually take them up on. I think it’s important before going into any surgery, for people to know the potential risks. I firmly believe hair transplantation should be a last resort! But I also believe, if transplantation is right for someone, Dr. Maras at HDC is one of the best in the world, and I can’t thank him enough for how him and his team transformed my life! I see you went to HDC too! I wish you well and look forward to your updates!
  20. My experience with Dr. Maras and HDC was excellent. My results are literally life changing, so to say I’m happy is an understatement! Don’t get me wrong, it’s not perfect. The left side of my frontal area didn’t grow in quite as densely as the right (which is not uncommon), and I had some bruising where the hair didn’t grow at all, but I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to HDC! Absolutely top class clinic and very good support throughout the whole journey! Maras is elite in my book, no doubt. You have a very good list there and it seems you’ve done your research. Just keep researching and go to whom you feel most comfortable with. No transplant is a guarantee, but with knowledge, you will set yourself up with the best chances as possible.
  21. I’m not sure what you mean by “do the work themselves.” I’m also not aware of HLC’s or Ferreira’s protocols. If you mean the doctor does all of the extractions, incisions, and implantations themselves, with no assistance from a team at all, then no, HDC doesn’t do that (at least not for me). A lot of elite clinics don’t. But they do have a team of techs on staff, and they’ve been there a really long time and do a great job.
