  1. this is just my opinion, but i feel as if some posters here are being disingenuous and not honest about this result. for me, i think u were way to bald to undergo a HT procedure. I think if i saw your head on the street i would stop and stare. Not trying to be mean, just honest. as long as you are happy thats all that matters, but to other posters here i say we encourage honesty, and i doubt im the only person who feels this way. all the 'looks great' comments are head scratching to me.

  2. Hi all im new here and just thought id put some light on the subject. I think Spanker is generally right I and I can attest to this. I started dating a beautiful women when I was 17, starting going bald at 18 and was very noticeable at age 20. She never brought up the subject, and always remained attracted to me. Ultimately the balding led to my downfall in self-esteem, and low self-esteem is a huge turn off to women. I did not want to go out in public with her because she was a looker, and people would then look at me and see I was bald, even though it was in my head and I was just insecure. Although I would feel special that a hot women is with me, in the end I felt inferior to other men with hair when I was with her.

I saw a young attractive women with a young bald guy who looked like Mr Clean at Wal-mart just the other day...

I think the general public makes the assumption that women love men with great hair, but men with great hair are just more confident and present this happy invisible aura that alot of bald/balding men don't.

I think it's safe to say this about skinny/fat guys, and that the buff jocks get all the hotties because there more confident. But next time you guys are out in public look around and you'll be surprised at what confidence and character can get you.

Well said. I have several friends who are starting to thin or have already lost a significant amount of hair and all have girlfriends or are dating girls who don't care about their hair loss. Drawing on my own experiences I have always seemed to do fairly well with the opposite sex and have been in several relationships with women who also don't care about my hair loss. Women in general care a lot less about looks then men do and more about how you make them feel. Projecting confidence will score you some major points in this area. Hair loss may matter more to women when you are younger but as you get older it will matter less and less. Take care of the things in your life you can control to make yourself the most attractive potential mate you can be. If you can make her laugh and have a little self confidence that's more than half the battle right there. Just my two cents...

  3. I have been researching hair transplants for a number of years now and there is no doubt in my mind H&W are one of the elite HT clinics in the world. I don't use that term lightly and would only consider SMG and maybe one or two others in that category. I have seen great result after great result from them for a very long period of time.

With that said, I have noticed that NotHappy isn't the only unhappy H&W patient these days. There have been/are a number of patient blogs that I have read on this site in the past 6 months-1 year from H&W patients who are not happy with their results, and if i were them i wouldn't be either. A lot of these patients are younger ones who have received mega sessions and or dense packing and have had less than optimal if not downright poor growth. Donor hair is a finite resource and to see so much of it not being able to get good yield and subsequently wasted forever b/c of bad growth is troubling.

I thought this would be a good thread to prompt some discussion as to why this is happening lately? In other words, I think this is a slightly bigger issue than just one unhappy patient, rather several. I understand there is no clinic that bats 1.000, that there are numerous factors that go into a good result, and that there are A LOT of HT clinics that are essentially hair chop shops, but given H&W's sterling reputation and great history of patient results I'm left wondering why I keep seeing less than optimal results from some of their patients on this sites blogs. (And this isn't to say i don't see great results either, I do, plenty of them. But have seen more troubled patients recently than I can ever recall).

Is it b/c they might have too many techs who haven't perfected graft cutting/planting and are damaging FU's? Are their mega sessions, which requires the grafts to be left out of the body for a longer period of time than what other clinics require from smaller sessions causing poorer yield. Are they packing too much into too tight an area for one pass. Is it a combo? I have no idea, I'm just throwing a few possibilities out there. I am in no way trying to slander H&W or question their methods. As I have said their reputation, results, and professionalism put them in a league of their own in my opinion. True world leaders in the field of HT's. In addition, Joe has always been great dealing with some of my questions and Im not even a patient. I'm just trying to connect the dots b/c there seems to be some type of discord.

  4. First of welcome to the forum carefree. Its nice that your first post is to attack H&W. Are you Nothappy by chance or know him? If no it looks at bit fishy but I will go to the post. I also assume that you are the guest that commented on his blog.

This is my opinion maybe I am right maybe I am wrong but I am sure Joe will come in and correct me if not. In your preop pictures 2 and 3 you have fine hair and thinning all over the scalp. Without or with meds it is possible to lose these hairs within a 2 year period. Looking at your pictures on your Pre-op and 2 yrs post op comparison . Picture 1 and 2 compared to picture 3 show a difference. Pictures 4 and 5 show that you no longer have your original hair and it appears that you only have grafts hair in the front. Too bad your jump from 3 months post op to 2 years post op. This would be important to see how the growth was at 1 year to see if you how much of your original hair was there one year post op.

You stated since you had quite a tight scalp and Dr. Hasson was only able to take 2695 grafts. I am sure you were a case that needed at least 4000+. Looking at the grafts places it looks like you had an area of around 200 square cm. It also appears that you have thinner hair from the pictures that I see. That mean you had a average of 18 grafts per square cm which is not alot. I disagree with that fact that only 30% grew and maybe you need to post more pictures. Although I cant speak for the clinic but if possible I would recommend that you go visit them and have them count the grafts that grew.

Once again I can only base my opinion on the picture that I have seen and my experience. I am sorry that he is not happy.

this post is ridiculous. if u honestly believe this result is ok then there is no reasoning with you. and who cares if its not the original patient? what does this have to do with the fact this result is awful?

  5. also, from another forum....

Id have to disagree with you.. again you dont see people talking about their good results from it.. Mainly because there just arent many people that have had good results or any results... When I went to see Dr. Feller for my PRP treatment, I asked him how many ppl he had treated with PRP and how many responded well or at all.. His response was, "3 out of 47".. Had I not driven 500 miles to NYC, I would have ran for my life.. Those are turrible odds.. 6%!..Im also part of a few other hairloss forums and the whole prp craze has died down so much that literally you never hear it brought up...You also don't see anyone here raving about their results.. except you... sorry but the results you're seeing are probably from your propecia use... You take, what 5 mg a day?? and you're suppose to improve over a course of 2 years...If you had just done PRP alone U might be able to say you're seeing results.. but sorry, I just don't buy it.Dr. Greco said it himself.. on this thread, that PRP should be done WITH PROPECIA and MONOXIL... Yes, I did see amazing results from propecia (1mg) after almost 3 months... but the sides were to much for me to bear with it any longer.

  6. That buzz and attention your referring to can also be called "hype" which is something I've been trying to avoid.

The bottom line is that in my opinion it works, BUT... only in certain types of patients. To my mind PRP is best when it is utilized in patients, usually young, whose hair is just beginning to miniturize. This did not come a surprise to me.

To date, no adverse effects whatsoever have been reported to me after PRP administration.

dr feller, can you show us some updated pics, testimonials, ect. from your younger clientele then? thank you.

  7. There is a famous Italian that came to H&W to get repaired. He looked like crap after two surgeries with a well known Italian doctor. One year after his transplant he looks amazing. People online are saying he looks so good that it even appears that he has a wig on. This Italian patient gave a testimonial years ago to this bad doctor right after his first surgery before his results. Sure enough this doctor took his testomial from years ago and used it with his current pictures after his result of H&W. Some Italian online on getting suckered into thinking this result is from this Italian doctor and now are coming back from him with subpar results.

My point is when somebody where concealer or the picture are not the best its is almost dishonest because the people that see it actually beleive this is the result they can expect.

lorenzo, can you link these pics of the italian yo are talking about? thanks

  8. i would be pissed if i got that many graphs and at this point in time my hair looked the same/worse as before. I guess you have to wait 12 months but its not looking to promising. Its weird to see a clinic knock it out the park so many times like they have, but also produce results where I would NOT be happy. I've been shocked that they've operated on and used so many graphs on some of the younger patients ive seen on this site.
