  1. I Can see the thinning in the donor Area. It looks like shockloss combined with grafts taken out.

I mean, you do have less hair in the donor than before the HT obviesly, because they took Them out, but i still Think it looks to thin in donor area. It shouldnt look that thin with that number of grafts IMO.

Reciepted area looks ok, clearly you have some sort of hairline now allthough its still thin but in 2-3 Month it should grow thicker

  2. I asked about further shock loss in all consultations. One Dr said Thymosin Beta 4 would help prevent that risk.

Believe it or not, 31 grafts to correct a tiny spot in the front of my hairline caused this - 3 inches away in the left temporal/forelock area.

Is it possible we Can see a picture of This shockloss? Maybe it would make it easier to understand if we see how bad it is?

  3. I wear a hat 24/7. Yeah the native forelock loss is a bummer. Bit skeptical about its return. Just read your thread about your HT with Lorenzo. You had same forelock issue, right? It came back strong @3.5 months?

No it didnt came back strong, i Think maybe 50 % return after 3,5 Month

I am now about 6 Month post op and i have maybe 70-80 % return of shockloss i think, difficult to say for sure.

  4. To be fair, I am less than 3 months, albeit only 4 days shy. Maybe others will chime in on native forelock shock loss. Here's pre-op pic taken in Dec 2015, roughly 5 months ago...

Ok when you show that pre op pic it looks like you suffered shockloss biiiig time :(

Hopefully it grows back. I started seeing maybe 50 % return of shockloss after 3,5 Month i think

What do people you see on Daily basis say about the sudden loss of that much hair?

  5. From what I've read I can shave my head/crop it short and go about my business! Perhaps I'll have to shave it more often, but thats the least of my worries!

Concealers are a temporary solution yes, and so are hair systems but they're the right one for me. I'm not willing to take drugs that have limited effectiveness and I don't think surgery is right for me either. I'm quite willing to wear a hair piece for another 30+ years if it makes me happy (or until a non-surgical, permanent cure breaks through).

The amount I spend on concealers isn't unsubstantial, so a hair system really makes sense.

I Also reaserched and am still keeping my eyes open about hairsystems.

But i Think you need to remember that a hairsystems Will definently take quite some of your time Also.

And you might be constant worried about people Will catch you!

I dont Think that it is healthy beeing paranoid 24/7 !

Unless your are open about it.

But i would love to see your pictures when you get it done ?

  6. Hello all!

I want to post here because I've found forums so incredibly helpful and especially posts from Grincher.

I understand I may get shot down for being a shill of the company I went with - I've noticed anyone who appears out of nowhere with a good review seems to be treated with suspicion but I think/hope people lurking or looking for answers may benefit from my experience.

I just ordered a system with ukhairsystems (went off today) and I'm eagerly awaiting the day I can start my new life.

My tressless journey started when I was 16 and my friendly hair stylist pointed out that I was balding. After years of being told by mum that I just have a 'triple crown' or something I realised I really was losing my hair, and felt hopeless. I hadn't had a proper girlfriend, hadn't been to uni and had *just* lost a huge amount of weight and was starting to get noticed by girls. My dad isn't bald, but aside from him the men on both sides were, so I knew it wasn't diet - I even went to the DR to ask if I it was a hormonal thing.

Hair fell out slowly but surely, I swept my hair back to hide the thinning and that worked for a bit. A couple of years later I discovered Toppik (I think I saw it on telly?) and that completely changed my life. I had, and still have, hair all over and am losing in a diffuse pattern so it not only concealed my balding, but actually made my hair look better than it ever looked before. Over time I got better and better with it and as my hair continued to thin I disovered Couvre too and used them together. I've been in three long term (3 ish years) relationships where I have been using concealers and not one of them, up to now (over ten years of using concealers) ever noticed. No one has, not even my own family.

I know people will say 'they noticed, and didn't say' but they really, truly haven't. The litmus test has been my last two relationships, where I 'came out' years in - both partners were genuinely shocked. My best friends are hypercritical of appearance, and if they suspected I know they would have ripped me a new one - it made it challenging at festivals and holidays but its all worked out. I have what appears to be a full head of hair, so I suspect the hair system will not be a shock - just a better, more healthy looking version of what i have now.

As evangelical as I am about concealers, I'm now sick to death of them. They're messy and take a lot of pleasure out of my day. The more I thin, the less there is for them to stick to and I know they are not a long term solution.

I've ordered my first piece - I had a really good long email converation with Richard who listened, looked over pictures of my hair and created a solution that was right for me and my hairstyle with ultra thin skin at the front and swiss lace for the rest. He's going to hook me up with a stylist when it arrives and all in all I'm optimistic. I am not a celeb, but I do have a public side to my job so a convincing look was tantamount.

Grincher, although we have never spoken I've scanned your posts both here and other sites and your advice was so helpful. Thank you.

I'll let you all know how it looks in about 8 weeks!

I now all about your Journey

Been a prisoner off consealer for 5-6 years i Think. And it is still not the best solution. But it is still somekind of temporary solution.

    But regarding your hairpiece.

Isn't it hard to Wear a hairpiece if you still have quite some hairs left underneath? I was told it would lift the base off the hairpiece fast

  7. Looking very good johnny2000.

I agree it could be a bit denser, but it does look fine, especially for a buzzed cut.

Do you know how many hairs per cm2 were placed?

If there are any problems, I'm sure Dr Lorenzo will address them. Did he get back to you with his opinion?

I cannot really remember how Many grafts per cm2 he placed

  8. Thank you guys for taking the time to answer.

I am currently growing my hair longer. Been 3 weejs now with no buzz.

I Will put a picture up in a week or so.

Its true that the illusion of density is better with longer hair

The only thing im worried is these "gaps" in the hairline Area is making it look unnatural if i want to do some sort of style other than a comb forward.

Lorenzo did answer as he allways does.

He is very proffesionel and helpfull and i know he stand by he's work 100 %

And if i need a small touch up by 12 Month i just hope i dont have to wait like 6 Month to get it done because of he's looooong waiting list.

  9. Hey J2000

If you are going to buzz that low, you are going to need another pass.

HT will never match native density no matter how many passes you do

only the ILLUSION of it. This is not some marketing line given out by clinics.

They tell us this to prepare us for the gaps, especially seen at buzz length.

That said, you can definitely use another pass to fill in some of the gaps that you see to help with the ILLUSION of DENSITY. It might take two or more passes to fill in the gaps that you see but still not fill them in completely as close as your native hairs lay.

I don't think we as patients appreciate this fact. We see a huge gap and think why not just place more grafts there? How could the clinic have missed such huge gaps? But the relationship among blood supply, placement and graft survival is difficult to determine and one that is best dealt with conservatively and with multiple passes.

So don't fret and just know that it may take another pass or so to get the illusion of density better than it is now.

Also at six months (even if you have no new growth post this time) these are new hairs that have not even reached maturity so they do look very strange at this stage but will look more like your native texture as the months and years pass. This of course will NOT fill in the gaps that you have if there is no new growth but it will BLEND much better than you see now.

For now even with the gaps, it is looking very good at BUZZ LENGTH.

I totally agree with you about the 5-6 month range and lack of new growth post that.

buzzed at 6-8 months is probably what buzzed growth with be post that. But not many people are able to buzz a HT like we can. Buzzed head pics post HT are rare.

Long post but wanted to commiserate with you and hope you do get NEW GROWTH post six months. But less stress to just say as of now, I'm going to need another pass or two to get the look I want. Only speaking from my experience so I hope this helps.

Also put a prayer out to the hair gods for new growth post 6 months for J2000!

    Ya never know....

    Best to you

    Thank you.

I do pray. I have been praying for the last 5 years.

But things is not getting better.

Alot of my thin native hairs are lost and replaced by the HT hairs. The problem is that the HT hairs are not placed close enough together and they are much thicker than my natives wich makes it look unnatural.

I Think i need quite alot of single hairs all around my hairline and in the "gaps"

I would Like to grow my hair longer but it just doesn't look so good with these gaps.

  10. I do see some gaps but its also only 6 months, you're just barely getting over shock loss, you still have another 6 months of growth. Have you ever considered just shaving it? it may be something to look in to if you're not happy with the results of this surgery. You wear your hair so short already I don't imagine i would be much of a difference to just buzz it down,

Well i do sometimes buzz it all the Way with no guard but not on the lowest setting on the machine. But when there is these gaps it doesnt look good with a buzzed head.

I hear what your saying about its only 6 Month but have you seen Any examples of people getting alot of new growth after 6 Month? Mostly it is just the hairs that has allready grown that mature more.

But i need more growth to get these gaps all around filled out

  11. Hi Johnny, I think it looks really good.

It isn't quite as dense as your native hair yet, but transplanted hair should usually be grown out to look it's best.

How are you getting on with your scalp? I remember you were having some issues? Which shampoo are you using?

Well the transplanted hairs are actually quite dense, but the problem is that there are Many gaps and it is offcourse not placed as close together as my native hairs.

That makes it looks alot rougher than my normal native hairs and more unnatural

I still have sebum on my scalp but it is a tiny bit better from time to time

  12. After 2 hairtransplants i thought i would be better of by now :(

The first one was offcourse not with lorenzo

The last 1,5 Month i dont see Any new growth. And Reading on these boards for around 5 years it doesnt look like much new growth is coming after 6 Month.

I know i need to wait until 12 Month but it just doesnt seems like some magic is gonna happen.

If anyone could post examples of alot of new growth after 6 Month (not thickening of growth)

I would very much like to see it.

So what should the next move be if it doesnt get better?

Seems like i need alot of singles all around the corners of my hairline and have the gaps filled out.

Should i go back to lorenzo or who would be the best to soft the reciepted Area ?

  13. Has anyone had a HT with dr. Zontos?

I am from Denmark and he is Working here in a clinic.

There has been quite a few famous danish people who had transplant lately and i Think maybe he has done alot of Them.

    He is Working in h?rklinikken.

If i might need a hairline touch up he is very close to me.

But i want to hear what people Think of him.

  14. Hi all

If you would like me to take different pics from different angles/lighting etc then let me know.

Overall I'm very happy with my result and would throughly recommend Dr Lorenzo to anyone!!!!

    This is crazy results!!!!

Did dr lorenzo do all the steps in your first and second HT?

Or did tech do the extractions?

    Also where are you from?
