tao- Just an fyi- I've been on Propecia (Proscar) and it's working great- I'm sold on it. As far as Minox- I've been using it- Not sure if it's helping a bunch since the Proscar seems to be working fine. The Minox isn't really a big deal to use- I get out of the shower, drip it in, rub it in and blow dry my hair- I do it a second time right before bed- So I don't care if it gets messed up a bit. As far as it having any sort of sticky/goopy properties- Not so much- It seems like it's just like water. I use the Costco brand though- So maybe Rogaine is different. Also- The Kirkland brand is $20/4 months supply. On the flip side- If today I hadn't ever started using it- I might not start- It's just that close- The Proscar works great- I just can't tell if the Minox is helping... Not sure If this helps- Just my experience!

Greggo- Ok- since we're all close and personal here... Just curious here- When you say "less" are you talking "less intense feeling" or simply "less- uh- er- mess"? Because if it's the second- I can see that as a benefit!

The problem isn't that you will lose any transplanted hair- That's there to stay. The problem is if you lose hair behind or below the transplanted hair. (i.e. you keep receding...) Then you'll have hair on top- a gap where you've lost more hair- then you will have the hair below. I take propecia to hang on to my crown- Since I had work done in the front- If I quit taking propecia- I'd lose more in the crown- And would probably have to go in to have the crown filled in with another procedure... Make sense I hope?

Just some interesting reading- The Grapefruit tip is at the end: Proscar ( Finasteride 5mg ) was originally developed to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia ( benign prostate enlargement ). After a few years of trials ( and lots of hair lost for those waiting ), Propecia ( Finasteride 1mg ) finally got FDA approval in 1997 for male pattern baldness ( androgenetic alopecia ). Finasteride acts in the body to significantly lower levels of dihydrotestosterone ( DHT ) by inhibiting the type 2 5 Alpha Reductase enzyme which is responsible for the conversion of testosterone into DHT. High amounts of DHT contribute to prostate enlargement as well as hair loss in individuals with a genetic pre-disposition to it. Why buy Propecia when you can buy Proscar for a whole lot less! Both are made by Merck and contain only Finasteride ( Proscar = 5mg, Propecia = 1mg ). Cost-conscious customers usually buy Proscar and cut the 5mg tablet into fourths ( 1.25mg ) or even fifths ( 1mg ) therefore getting all the benefits of Propecia at a dramatically reduced pricetag. If you cut Proscar into fourths ( 1.25mg ) you only need 3 boxes to save your hair for the entire year ( 360 days ) compare that to 12 boxes of Propecia and you will realise that Proscar is cheapest way to save your hair and your save your bank balance. To increase absorption of Finasteride and help avoid any loss of that precious 1 - 1.25mg due to digestion; preferably take on an empty stomach ( officially Proscar can be taken with / without food ) with a glass of grapefruit juice. Grapefruit juice contains enzymes that help slow down digestion thus boosting ( more or less doubling ) your bloodsteam uptake of Finasteride.

(jk) But- When you have hair- You CAN feel better about yourself- and everything snowballs... HOWEVER- There ARE those who DON'T have hair who are babe magnets.. Hair doesn't matter... But- If it makes you feel better about yourself- It DOES matter... That's the case with me... But don't listen to Jo- He's just full of himself... ;-)

SAH- MSM is Methylsulfonylmethane (GOTTA be the Trimedica brand tho) It's for healthy joints, muscles, tissues, skin, hairand nails. I say the Trimedica brand since it's 99.9% pure and free of heavy metals... Mr. T.- What's wrong with you? I've seen your pictures and you NEED a 2nd HT... What are you waiting for? GO!
