Dave, I think toppik is great. I have htin hairs in fron, (hairine and frront of the scalp area) and apply it there. I tmakes it look a lot darker and fuller. I use this spray and it sticcks on pretty good. I do get nrevous whenever it starts raining, because I think it can come off. The custoimer service is really good, and there's a guarantee if you don't like it. I figured nothing bventured, nothing gained. I'm glad I tried it because I use it all the time now. I feel naked without it...which I guess can be a bad thing to. CG

Thankyou all for your input. FoxLox-I'm only 24, and I am on rogaine (for 4 yrs) and propecia (for 4 months). And I probably will lose at least a little more, so I would go for a conservative, yet dense hairline. I am not happy with the amount of hair I have, but when I use the toppik, I can live with the look. But that may not be the case if I keep losing it, because you need a certain level of hair to make the concealers work for you. If I was older, I would agree, get a HT and stop worrying about and messing with the toppik. But since I'm young I may want to wait to see how much more I lose before I sit in the chair. Bu then again, if I wait and continue to shed, that means it would be harder to conceal the HT, and I would have a period of greater baldness and inability to effectivly use toppik. Dog chasing it's tail....

If I'm notg certain that now is the time to get a HT, does that mean I'm better off waiting? CG

Hairbgoin- I'm not ready to "committ to balding", but if I can use propecia and concealers, that's one route to go with it's own set of pro's and cons, just like a HT has it's own set of pros and cons. I feel if I can wait six months or more, then I should wait. Maybe I'll be more convinced to get one then, or maybe realize I don't want one. And I always have the toppik. But I need to stop obsessing in the mirror about it. That's the tough part. I'm letting it take up too much of my time. WAY too much time. So I need to act now, or make a decision to wait -- and be at peace with that decision. CG

I feel like all I do is read sites and research, but I am no closer to a decision. I feel I am as educated as possible, have a top-notch doc and excellent donor supply (accroding to doc), and realistic expectations about what I can get out of a HT (mature hairline, etc..) But I am still hung up on the fact that I'm 24, and don't know if I am ready to committ to this for life (time and money). Even with this top-notch doc, I'm not 100 percent sure the result would be great, and that I want a scar in the back of my head. On the other hand i don't want to be bald. And even if this doc does a good job, then the good result would come with the trade-off of having to accept all the above concerns (money, time, future commitment, scar). I know this sounds jumbled, but i just can't seem to pull the trigger, even after I've done a ton of research. Is there any one thing that made you guys decide to accept all the above risks and drawbacks, and just go for it? Also, was it as tough as a decision for you guys also? It works okay on the hairline, but best on the crown. In the front of my head it works good to make it look denser, and in my thin hairs in front, I can put it on those. It is a little tricky making it look decent around the hairline. but the end result for me at least is a thicker front area and a fuller hairline. I have not found a website that shows pics of this. Justin, Thanks for being such a sport and helping us out. Everything on you looks great as far as I can tell. If you don't mind me asking, how many grafts did you have put in, and how much did you pay. Just doing a little comparison shopping. Mr. T- When you say "grafts fell out", did you mean "hairs" fell out, but then regrew, or did the graft actually fall out and not grow back? CG

If you say "do it once and do it right", then I recommend the prudent track of waiting and researching for a while longer. I'm on the younger side, and I'm considering right now also. I've come to the conclusion that 1000-1500 is what I'll go for, anything less than that may not be worth all the hassle. But then again, each case is different. Like I said before, in order to do it right, I'm doing a ton of research. CG

Thanks for the feedback guys. Obviously i would prefer that the Doc be as involved as possible. Why is he not more involved? If you decide to go to a doctor, you choose him for his skills, not his technicians' skills. Also, is it unusual that he doesn't make the slits? CG

Which Limmer did you guys use? Dad Bob or son Brad? For any of you that have had HTs done by a Limmer, I'd love to see photos. Thanks! CG

DN and others, I visited MHR in Austin while in college (about three years ago), and they were flat out salesmen. After revisiting the thought of a HT the last few months and researching it, I am sooo glad I did not do it with those guys. I e-mailed Limmer and the son Brad, he called me the next day and we talked. I had a very positive experience with him during my consultation and a very good feeling about him. Still don't know wheter or not to get a HT, but if I do, it will most likely be with Limmer QUESTION FOR KOURION: What do you mean "although the doctors do not do the transplanting." The way I understood is that it is normal for the doctor to remove the strip and cut the slits in the head where the new hairs will go. After that, isn't it normal for the girls to do the rest?
