  1. mrjb i dont quite understand your post. From what i understand you are saying that if mpb starts at 18 you are in from trouble down the road. This is not all that true because meds are much more efficient when used at a younger age.
  2. I also live in california, work out alot and play varsity baseball. None of my friends really have much hairloss if any so i feel you on this one. Its tough shit but youll feel better if your doing something about it, ie propecia and rogaine
  3. Prodogy, I feel you on this one cousin. I started receeding at age 15 and am now almost 18. In fact about 15% of kids are at least a class 2(look up norwood scale). The average age to expirience hairloss if you a kid is 14.8 years, so dont feel like your alone. I buzz my head with a 0 blade and i wouldn't have it any other way. Be confident dude, you only live once and there is alot of hope for hair loss in the future I am currently on propecia rogaine 5% nizoral(every other day)
  4. No ones gonna stop you from trying it, and Im not gonna say this is completly out of the question but im sceptical. If I had a guess id say he had a transplant and was embarresed by the fact that you reconized it. Just a theory.
  5. I agree, I might give them a call to see whats up
  6. I read this on a different site, its from a relyable source and looks very promisong. Wednesday November 07, 2007 7:10 AM Dermaplus, maker of Dermalastyl and Keracyte brand products, announces synthesis of human Keratin proteins - 07 Nov 07 New York - Nov 7, 2007 (PRN): A major scientific breakthrough was announced today by the maker of the popular Dermalastyl brand anti-aging skin cream and Keracyte brand scalp conditioner. Dr Burt Ensley CEO of Dermaplus said "Our researchers have cloned the messenger RNA sequences of the important human protein Keratin and have produced significant quantities of the protein. This is an important scientific and commercial advance that will have a major effect on the way we care for skin and will ultimately revolutionize hair care products. Keratin is currently used in the formulation of hair care products to provide shine, strength, softness, smoothness, and good combing properties. The hydrolyzed Keratin in use is obtained by applying chemicals and enzymes to human and/or animal hair. The process used destroys the original keratin structures that make up hair and as a result they are non-functional. Dr Ensley said "The virgin material we have created will function as natural keratin in the skin. We will be able to immediately create exciting new additions to our skin and hair care products. In the future we can use the material to create new products for both wound healing and tissue regeneration applications." Dr Ensley said " We recreated the genetic code for the important Keratin isoforms 6 and 16. We chose these isoforms because they are most closely associated with rapid wound healing. It is known that expression of Keratin 6 and 16 are an important step in the reformation of damaged tissues. We believe that by introducing bio-identical proteins directly into the wounds the healing process can be accelerated. Our desire to advance the science behind our skin care products dictated that we choose the keratins most closely associated with epithelial cells. However, using the same methods we can create many other desirable forms of keratins. Our research collaborators have already experienced significant improvements in tissue regeneration rates and function using Elastatropin, our synthetic Tropoelastin. We expect similar improvements as a result of our introduction of our synthetic Keratin, branded as KERATROPIN." About Dermalastyl Dermalastyl is the first skin care line to include a complete functional human protein produced by genetic engineering as an ingredient. Dermaplus manufactures and sells over-the-counter consumer products made with the sophisticated, high performance biopolymers licensed from its parent Matrix Design, (link removed)Its current product line includes Dermalastyl anti-aging skin care and Keracyte anti-aging scalp conditioner. Keracyte and Dermalastyl are not available in stores. For more information visit (link removed) or (link removed) or call (phone removed). (contact info removed)
  7. guyfromsydney, First of all rogaine isnt very effective by itself and you may not regrow any hair from it alone. It is most effective when used with propecia Secondly any hair you grow from rogaine will fall out if you discontiue its use. Even if your on propecia youll lose the rogaine hairs
  8. Iv decided to switch from the foam to the liquid. WEhen applying the liquid are you supposed to rub it in at all, ot just let it sit.
  9. Well i dont think there can be any harm by switching to the liquid. Im gonna give it a try and see how it goes.
  10. I think im gonna switch to the dropper
  11. chucky, Did you at the very least keep the origional hair you grew from the liquid
  12. 1. Iv been on rogaine foam for over a year with no results, would it be a good decision to give the liquid a try? 2.Has anyone had positive results from the foam?

  14. Theres another important thing people forget about. There are many companies working on a treatment, but the drugs we have now were discovered by accident. Scientists didn't make propecia, avodart, and minox because they though it would help fight MPB, they were discovered by accident. With all the new drugs cominng i bet well see atleast one of them have a positive effect on hair loss with in the next year.
  15. I just talked to my dermotologist, whos the number one hair doector in SF. According to her Neosh will be available in about 3-4 years. Not a whole lot to go on, but she know her stuff. Many things are being working on, I feel a year from now we will already have mroe treatments than just propecia, minox, dut, and nizoral. Going bald is tough but i have hope in in the future, Like i said i think we will be much further than we are now in just 1 year
  16. Matt, Again im going to have to disagree with you. It is ture 16 is probably to young to get on propecia but id say 17 is ok. Eather way Saw Palmetto is not the smartest choice. First of all it side-effects are still possible. Many have reported sexual side-effect while on saw palmetto. All in all for my man gmgf, i would suggest you to get on rogaine for 1 year, then seriously consider propecia after that. (I am 17 and am on both rogaine and propeica so dont feel like your the on one)
  17. zgmf, Once again i will tell you that you are not alone. The average age for kids to begin hairloss is 14.8 years old. Although it may not seem like it 15% of kids are a norwood 2 or worse. I for one started receeding at 15. I am now and taking rogaine and propeica to minimize the damage. I know its tough, feel free to private message me if you want and can talk some some. We all know what its like, were all here to help you.
  18. Zmgf, It looks as though you are expirencing adolecent male pattern baldness. Dont feel like you are alone, this happens to 15% of children and can start as early as age 7. Becasue you are only 15, i would not recomend propecia, but in a clinical study rogaine had an effect on 95% of the kids tested. Its not going to regrow all your hair, but it should hold you over until you are old enough for stronger treatments.
  19. zgmf, To be honist it real hard to tell from your explaination. If you had a couple pictures of your hair we couple probably give you a good idea of whats going on.
  20. http://www.regrowth.com/hairloss-remedy/remox/promox-study.cfm interesting. The results are pretty promising.

  22. I have read alot of people saying that retin-a enhances minox. Is there any prove of this. Is anyone here using the two together. If it is ture that retin-a can speed up growth, where can it be purchased?
