  2. its752, Interesting comment. At this point Im looking forward to being all healed up! Im a bit of a wimp when it comes to medical procedures. I dont really see myself savoring every step lol. However the big day is not until next week, so my nerve levels are very high!I have the cash and dont need to travel as I live in Ottawa where Dr. Rahal practices. I will keep you posted. Thank
  3. Eman - Once again thank you for your support. I will keep eveyone updated. OttawaGrrl- Thanks for the tips and advice. I will be picking up some pillows and neck travel pillow tomorrow. Thank you also for answering my questions about the pain medication that has been something I have been very focused on. I will bust out the lulu lemon pants for the procedure lol Im looking forward to joining in the happiness of all the other Rahal patients. Thanks
  4. its752 & Petchski Im leaning towards not telling anyone. I will just rely on the hat to hide it for the months ahead! And yes I think im going to go with a rib injury... shoulder could work too! Thanks
  5. Eman Thanks again! You rock! I live in Ottawa so there will be no travel required which is sweet! The pre- op was great today. We went over all my questons and concerns. Rahal took some pictures and gave me the post op instructions to review. Now Im just waiting for the big day! I will keep you posted. Thanks for your help
  6. DEDOM and EMAN Thanks for your imput. It doesnt sound that bad, I guess I have been working my self up by over thinking the whole process! Im off to my pre op today! Should have a ton of questions for Dr. Rahal! Thanks again!
  7. I am 1 week away from my HT and I have told only my wife, brother, inlaws, and a friend who will be covering my business. However I ?play on a hockey team twice a week with my buddies and dont know what to tell themas I will be missing the next 2-3 months? I also have an assistant ( im a realtor ) she works in the same office as me 20 hours a week. ?? Will it not be obvious to my assistant when i am wearing hats all the time to cover my shaved head? Wont my buddies wonder why Im not playing anymore? Might they not notice a scar on my head if I return after the surgery? The guys shower after the game... im not sure what it will look like wet and up close ? My wife thinks I should be honest with people and tell them. At this stage I dont know what to do! Its a hard thing to talk about and I have a hard time being honest about it for some reason. Will people not notice that the guy who was blading pretty bad before, has a straight hair line and a hair style in a years time?? Feedback please.. Cheers One nervous guy!!
  8. Hey guys thanks for your replys, Eman - I have now spent the time researching the blogs. Its seems pretty much all Rahal patients are very happy! I look forward to your results and advice over the next months / years! Jonas Elliot Do you have any pictures? I would be interested to see your before pictures and what your donor area looks like know. Cheers

  10. Im having mine done at age 28. But I cant take it anymore! Its my time! All the best!
  11. Bill, In regards to sleeping the night before the surgery. When I get nervous I have a hard time sleeping. I can imagine the night before the surgery I will be up all night! Should I get a sleeping pill for the night before? Please advise. Ps. I probably wouldnt be as nervous, however the upcoming HT is all consuming.
  12. DEDOM & TommyF Thanks so much for your replys. It seems as though you are both very happy with Dr. Rahal. I look forward to much of the same! I will try my best to relax during the procedure and will keep you posted. How much ahead of time do they five you the meds to relax you prior to the surgery? Was there much pain with the initial needle in the back of the head?
  13. Hello Everyone Im very nervous and excited for my Hair Transplant. The strip removal and scar healing scare me the most. I would imagine that the drugs Dr. Rahal will give me will help with the pain. I wanted to take a minute to thank all the members for your posts and pictures. They have helped me along the way. Please check out my pictures and let me know what you think. Cheers

  16. Ready for Change Looks great! I guess its a matter of time to see the results! I will be having my first HT with Rahal on January 12th (3500). Im glad to hear him and his staff are fantastic! I much like yourself am hoping ot have results much like all the other Rahal patients on this site! Good luck to you! Buba
  17. Congrats! Looks really good! I am having my HT on Jan 12th (Dr. Rahal) and hope to have an experience like yours! Good luck with the growing! I look forward to your pictures! Cheers Buba
  18. Hey guys I have a HT booked with Rahal in January (3500 grafts) and was interest to find out how happy previous clients of Rahal have been? Let me know buba
  19. Celeb Thanks for the blog. It does give me a better idea of what to expect. Although I am married and will be going home not a motel. I do plan on not leaving the house for about a week and watching tons of TV while taking happy pills, which seem to do the trick! Cheers Buba
  20. Space between I am in a similar situation as yourself. Its brutal and I understand why you want the HT to frame in your face. I am having my first HT with Rahal in January. 3500 gratfs all in the hair line and to thicken the middle and bring back the side burns. Im planning on taking of 2- 3 weeks off and when I return to work ( real estate) I plan on wearing a hat and I might just be able to pull it off as I live in Ottawa, Canada and January to March are winter months. I plan on having a variety of hats to wear. I dont plan on telling anyone except my best friend and some family. It is hard to deal with but I think in the long run it will be easier to live with. So I wear a hat every day for a few months big deal! Have you picked your doctor yet? Do you know how many grafts? Good luck Buba jan 12 09 rahal 3500 gratfs
  21. From what I hear you do have to pay the extra if they manage to do the extra work. You pay on a per grafts basis.
  22. I will ask Rahal during my pre op for sure! The helmets are very tight so I dont want to mess with the work. As Im not planning on telling my team mates I might just make something up! Kinda brutal but what can you do? Buba
  23. Im am worried about how to manage " my look" after the trasnplant. I work with clients every day as a real estate agent and need to be out working to make money. I plan on taking a few weeks off but cant go into hiding much longer than that! I guess that will be the next challenge after the surgery! Buba Jan 12 09 3500 Dr. Rahal
  24. Hey Sonny I think I will take time of from hockey as well. Did you tell the guys on your team? I guess if i was hiding it from them it could be weird when taking off my hat in the change room eh? Buba
