Great! Thanks for the detailed account.

Better be careful Thana... Armani might sue you next for this thread.
-
I think Brandnew lost his credibility when he said he wasn't impressed with H & W's results. For crying out loud, have you seen those videos Joe has been posting? They are amazing.
-
Very informative and great pictures. I know it's dense-packing, but it's as if I can almost see all of the grafts in these photos. It makes me jealous, cause I'm pretty sure that I don't qualify for dense packing!
-
Yeah, really looks great. Glad you're pleased!
-
ScottishGuy,
The work looks excellent. You got a lot a grafts and I didn't think you looked all that bad in the pre-ops. Be patient with the donor area. It'll feel funny for awhile but it'll get better. I'm going through the same thing myself right now.
-
I understand your pessimism Plunge. And it could very well be poor yield. But stay in touch with Dr. Alexander and don't completely rule out a second run with him. I seriously doubt would you have two poor results with him.
-
After my first procedure I developed scabs and did saline soaks every hour. But after my second procedure I was given a bottle of graftcyte to spray on every half an hour, and I had very little scab formation.

Don't listen to Kanum. I eat an apple everyday and I still lose hair. Laser combs are a hoax. The foam does apply easier than the liquid. However, if you put in nanogen you'd have to wash that out before applying the foam. But you should wash out nanogen before you go to bed anyways.

I do like his crown. Nice swirl.

yah... sort of reminds me of me but with density... but the guy did go back two times, so he must not have been that dissatisfied.
-
Hang in there Plunge. After my first surgery, I did see a difference from month 9 to month 13 (before round 2).

Hey guys, just a note to let you know that I've posted my two week update. I had the sutures removed a couple days ago. Got some of those red tractor tracks going on in the donor area, so hopefully those will go away soon. My skin had a hard time with those and it sure felt good to get them out. The recipient has healed quite well. I still got some slight redness but not too bad at all. It's started the shed.
So the question is.... when do you think I can start applying a little dermmatch on both the scar and recipient area? It's like I'm addicted to the stuff.... I'm going through concealer withdrawal.

Yeah, not going with Minox is fine as long as you stick with Fin. Though some seem to think the two used together have a kind of synergistic effect.
-
Yeah, the Minox made my ears really chapped. No kidding. So after a couple weeks I stopped the Foam.
The Fin actually gave me some pretty strong testicular pain for a couple weeks. I almost quit but it went away and I haven't had a problem for three years.
Your hair loss doesn't look totally extreme right now. The thing is is that you are so young, so you never know how it's much further it's going to progress.

Ok, I just saw the prior thread for his first procedure. Thana was right! Total hair greed. But it certainly says something when I couldn't tell that the pre-ops in this thread were with transplanted hair.
-
What a punk that guy is for even thinking about getting a hair transplant! Haha.
That hairline is very soft & very natural. But with all that donor, he should have moved his hairline down to his eyebrows!
-
phxind,
I think it looks very good considering you are at only 5 months. If that was 12 months, then yeah, I would be disappointed. But being so early, I would be pretty excited if I were you!
-
Just to clarify, my first procedure was NOT with SMG.
-
18 and balding.. isn't that a song?
Anyways, yeah it sucks that it struck so young. But you did the right thing by getting on Fin. If I were you I would also give Rogaine Foam a try. I tried it, didn't work out for me... but it has for many. Just stay on Fin. But like Thana said, it's too early to start thinking about a HT. It might be an option down the road... but not now.
-
That's the thing. I've been on these forums for over a year now and have seen countless of pics. And after awhile, you begin to see a pattern. Of all the great results I've seen, many of the immediate post-op pics looked a lot like mine. So yeah, there are no guarantees. But I feel fairly confident about this one.
Oh and btw, I warded off a potential staff infection last week with some anti-biotics.... and I got a few calls from Dr. Paul just to check in on me. Just saying that I appreciate that.
Now just can't wait to get this sutures out!
-
Shadow. Well said. A doc can be great guy but not necessarily a great doc.
But I'll def keep you posted, great results or not.
-
That's pretty sweet Thana. I actually played poker once and lost 20 bucks when I could have won 60. I felt so bad and I vowed never to play again. I think I'll keep it that way. Oh yeah, and welcome back LMS.
-
Thanks LMS. Truly appreciate it man. Yeah, the before pics in my bathroom are pretty harsh, huh? And to be honest, those pics don't really show all the little bumps I got on my head. Like you said, it wasn't so bad when my hair was long, combed forward, with some concealer. But when I gave myself the crew-cut, there was no way to hide the fact that I had to go in for round 2. I'll definitely be posting updates with pictures. I'm very confident that this one will turn out great. Dr. Paul and SMG were very good to me and still are in this process.....
Will Concealer threaten the sucess of a HT?

You will get a variety of answers on this one. I've heard many docs say it's ok to use concealers after about a week post-op. Dr. Paul thinks I should be stay off of dermmatch for a few months. Either way, I think if you use concealer post-op, you should wash it out before you go to bed.
