Regular Member JuJu Posted February 5, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted February 5, 2009 I see a positive difference in the 'after' pictures. How many grafts or hairs did you have transplanted to your crown? Who's your doc?
Senior Member SpaceBetween Posted February 5, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 5, 2009 I'm really not seeing much of a difference at all... I'm sorry to say that. How many grafts did you get? Regular Member imun Posted February 5, 2009 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 5, 2009 Hi! Thanks for your feedback. I got a total of 2100 grafts. 1600 grafts in the crown and top, and 500 in the left and right temple areas. I am not at all satisfied with the results. I had this HT in MHR Atlanta and the doc was Dr. Jason Lukasewicz. He is in the boston MHR now. He is a nice guy but the results are way below my expectations. this is sloppy work i think. Let me know what you guys think of the final result based on the number of grafts.
Regular Member JuJu Posted February 5, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted February 5, 2009 I agree with you... This is a bad HT given the number of grafts. Have you spoken with the Dr. about this? Perhaps there is recourse.
Regular Member imun Posted February 5, 2009 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 5, 2009 I have moved to California from Atlanta and did speak with the Dr. He said that it does not look that bad and said that he wants me to be happy. I don't know how can I be happy with a bad HT. He said that they will review the photos at the corporate end and somebody will be in touch as to where we go from here. So lets see what happnes. Senior Member dakota3 Posted February 6, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 6, 2009 Not even close to good for the # of grafts... If he wants you to be happy he'll reimburse you so you can go see a better doc! DO NOT have another procedure done with this guy!
Senior Member dabuski Posted February 7, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 7, 2009 yeh..only minimal difference here. if your doc really cares about the quality of his work, and happiness of his patients, he should rectify this free of charge. Senior Member hoose Posted February 17, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 17, 2009 imun, you mentioned you had 1600 grafts in the top/crown area; all in all, that is not a lot of grafts for that area; the crown can "eat up" a lot of grafts. so really you had 2100 grafts covering a large area; that is not a large amount of grafts for that large of an area; i don't think the results are bad per say, just not dense; a coaltion doc should be able to give you the density you desire
Senior Member Mr. GQ Posted February 17, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 17, 2009 crowns are tricky places for HTs and it does take a lot longer for it to see final result. i know that you are at 15 month mark, but i read that it takes full 2 years for crown work to show its true face. as hoose stated above it's not that bad for such small amount of grafts, and yes if you ask anyone here, they'll all tell you that crown is a black hole for grafts indeed. no one knows for certain why, but it is what it is. so for someone that is considering a crown work, much bigger graft count is necessary to achieve decent coverage for that area than any other for that matter. my 2 cents

Regular Member imun Posted August 14, 2009 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 14, 2009 PD, I had my HT almost 2 years back and want to have another one now. What do you think, how many grafts do I need to get density in the crown? Thanks.
Senior Member PD Posted August 14, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted August 14, 2009 imun, we dont see your frontal, may be thats where you think you need your 2nd HT on... but if you are still talking about your crown again... honestly, i wouldnt even plan on the next one until i wait and see how your loss is going to progress... if you are going to have any down the road.. who knows it may have stabilized or slowed down.. but if you want to push it, need a real thick bush, probably another 500.. some docs might even say they can sneak in a 1000 ! Regular Member imun Posted August 17, 2009 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 17, 2009 PD, Thanks for your feedback. I am satisfied with my front, i just need some grafts in the crown area. as you can see in the pics, there is a bald spot in the crown. I use toppik to cover the crown and it works well but i just want a natural solution. i have been on propecia since sept 2005.
