Concerned about Hair Transplant Scarring?
imun replied to Bill - Seemiller's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
flyguy, I am quoting this from Dr. Rassman's website FAQs. What if my hair turns gray or white? – Believe it or not, the stubble from white hair (and most colors of hair) is GRAY when you shave close to the skin. Just look at blond men with a close shave and you will see the gray shade where the hair exits the scalp. We try to match the shade of pigment based on your skin and hair color. If you have dark hair now and it turns gray later on in life, the underlying shade will blend despite the hair color change because SMP covers the entire scalp (not just the bald areas). my take on this is why go under the knife when there is a non-surgical option available. i have had 3 HTs, that is why i am saying this. check out the SMP website and see the before and after pics. i haven't had SMP yet but i am thinking about it. We need Bill's input on this too. Bill, what do u think about SMP? have u met anyone in person who's had SMP. Thanks.- 5 replies

Concerned about Hair Transplant Scarring?

I would say, instead of Scar Revision, go for SMP (Scalp Micro Pigmentation). Dr. Bill Rassman of new hair institute does good SMP. I am reading good reviews about his SMP. On one of the before and after SMP pics on Dr. Rassman's website, I read this and I am going to quote here. "But the donor scar was noticeable despite numerous attempts to revise the scar."- 5 replies

hi bhim, congrats on your 1st HT. your pics look good, nice clean work. its too early to say anything about the results. but you got more singles and doubles and just 280 multiples, which can have a thinner look but again you will have to wait for atleast 6 months to see a significant difference. why didn't the doc give you more grafts in the back and crown? just to get an idea, what was the cost of your HT? thanks.

Dr. Humayun Mohmand. 12 months results
imun replied to littlewolf's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
littlewolf, Its a pretty good offer from the doc as SHANGLA said, "Dr. Humayun will not only offer you complementary surgery, but because you are a foreigner and especially traveled to Pakistan for HT surgery, will also offer free 2 nights stay, food, and 50% economy class ticket to Pakistan." not every doc offers this, if I were you I would take it but obviously the decision is yours. -
Dr. Humayun Mohmand. 12 months results

littlewolf, with all 2440 grafts in the front, you should have gotten a much much better result than what you have right now. may be Dr. Mohmand's techs were having a bad day when you had your procedure. I would definitely talk to the Doc, he may reimburse you for the lost grafts or he might throw in some free grafts if you decide to go for a 2nd procedure with him. keep us posted. good luck. -
Check out costco guys. i got 100 pills from costco for $83.

I don't take the whole proscar pill. I cut the 5 mg pill into 2, so i am taking 2.5mg EOD. or if you like you can cut the pill into 4 pieces and take it every day. are you taking 1/4 tablet every other day?

I am taking finasteride 5 mg every other day. Its easier to cut the pill into two. i talked to 2 docs and both recommended that taking it every other day is also as effective. plus its so cheap. i got 100 pills from costco for $83. you don't have to be a costco member to buy medicines there.

hopefully hatless, did you get the HT yet? where did you go? Thanks. -
Bill, Good to hear from you, thanks for your input. I agree with you that Dr. Rosanelli does solid work, the pics says it all. since he has recommended 1500 grafts, sdj254 should be just fine.
