Regular Member GhostCryptid13 Posted May 1, 2024 Regular Member Posted May 1, 2024 (edited) On Monday, April 29th 2024, I had an FUT at Cooley Hair Center with Dr. Jerry Cooley. The procedure went great, I was in no pain at all. I’ve been spraying my grafts, every hour for the first 2 days (once every 2 hours at night) and now once every 2 or 3 hours and none at night. I’ve been sleeping upright pretty successfully. My donor site is still 90% numb and I’ve been unable to take a picture as of yet but it feels good. My scalp doesn’t really feel tight either. It sort of feels tight but it’s not extremely tight and not uncomfortable. I’ll be updating this thread. The first pictures will be a before the procedure and the next day, after they washed it. also everything is starting to itch. Any tips for that? Also I am on Xyon Health’s topical duta that I’ve been using once a week so far. Im taking a 2 week break for the recipient sites to heal. After that I’m probably going to move to twice a week Monday/Friday. That should help reverse the miniaturization of my existing hair. Edited May 1, 2024 by GhostCryptid13
Regular Member GhostCryptid13 Posted May 2, 2024 Author Regular Member Posted May 2, 2024 It’s 3 days post-op and scabs are now forming. It looks like fewer grafts than I initially thought, but I know that’s just me being paranoid. im definitely going to be relying on topical duta to thicken the existing hair in the middle! 2
Regular Member Amiele Posted May 4, 2024 Regular Member Posted May 4, 2024 (edited) Looks like clean work. Do you know if this will be a one and done procedure or do you think you’ll need another procedure to achieve the desired density? Curious that you’re not feeling any tightness, did you do scalp elasticity exercises prior to surgery? In your next update can you please post some pictures of your scar? Did Dr Cooley prescribe the Xyon topical dutasteride? Are you applying it over your entire scalp? Sorry for all the questions, I’m jut curious. 😀 happy growing! Edited May 4, 2024 by Amiele 1

So I am starting to feel tightness, but only in the very back (where it’s next to impossible to actually stretch) and it’s not a lot of tightness, I can just tell it’s tight and it feels like it’s being..held in a mild/medium stretch constantly. I did scalp exercises and I think they helped a lot. I also think that the back will get relaxed as it creates more skin due to the constant stretching. I think this should be a one and done as long as the topical dutasteride works and de-miniturizes the non transplanted hairs I have. Not really looking for a lot of regrowth with it, though that’d be a great bonus! He did tell me to get the xyon health duta and he uses it himself. Currently only applying it to the miniaturized area but I’m probably going to start using 2 pumps to apply to more of my scalp once a week. If I tolerate that with no sides then I’m moving to twice a week, Monday and Friday. I’ll attempt to get a picture of the scar but that might not be possible till I get the stitches out. I don’t mind the questions
Regular Member GhostCryptid13 Posted May 10, 2024 Author Regular Member Posted May 10, 2024 Just an update: Day..11? I have most of the scabs off! Not all of them mind you, but enough to know how it looks. This definitely motivates me to continue with the topical duta on Monday and Friday

I tried topical fin in the past and got sides on it and if I got sides on the topical then I’m likely to get sides on the pill form. topical dut is supposed to go less systemic, it’s what he recommended. if possible I’d like to not go on regular fin. Tbh I’m already the type of guy to worry about sides so I’d probably nocebo myself into sides. But if I have to I’d try it…probably .25 mg 3 times per week 1

Regular Member GhostCryptid13 Posted May 16, 2024 Author Regular Member Posted May 16, 2024 So I used the xyon topical dutasteride on Monday. I ended up using 2 pumps in order to cover my entire scalp and I left it there for around 8 hours. my libido seems to be lower and I may have mild ED, however I’m currently battling either allergies, a cold, or something similar and I’ve been taking Benadryl 25 mg per night and I know that can affect libido. Because of this I’m not saying it’s cause of the duta (that and I used one pump once a week for four months with no trouble so idk why waiting 2 weeks and then using 2 pumps would immediately cause sides). This Monday I’m going to only use one pump more than likely just in case. Or I may wait till I’m over all of this. thoughts? ps. I’m getting the stitches out next week, I’m assuming I’ll lose all of the transplanted hair soon-ish too. Some has fallen out but most of it is still there
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted May 17, 2024 Valued Contributor Posted May 17, 2024 I'm no expert but if you've gone four months without side effects it is very possible that it could be related to your cold, allergies, etc. 1 GATSBY 'UNPLUGGED!' 15,671 (3 surgeries) Grafts FUE+BHT Dr. Sethi Eugenix

We Got This Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 @GhostCryptid13 Thanks for sharing your HT and medication experience. Regarding your topical finasteride use in the past, what sides did you develop and how quickly? Regarding Xyon’s topical dut, did you notice any changes in shedding and/or visual improvements? After how long? Like you, I also got sides on finasteride (both oral (0.5mg) and topical (0.1%) finasteride). It’s encouraging to hear that you didn’t get any sides using Xyon’s topical dut 1x/week. I literally have a bottle of Xyon’s topical dut lying in front of me but am too afraid to use it… Hope that the sides you felt after your previous application were nocebo and your hair continues to improve. please keep us updated!

The sides were both nocebo and also due to lack of quality sleep (that affects me a lot it seems). my advice would be to use use it once a week just to see how your body tolerates it
Regular Member GhostCryptid13 Posted July 29, 2024 Author Regular Member Posted July 29, 2024 So I’m considering getting on 0.25 mg of fin twice a week but I’m very worried about side effects. im going to start exercising (lifting weights) and I’m considering taking a natural aromatase inhibitor to help prevent a raise in estradiol. I don’t think the duta is doing much of anything and I know I need to be on an ar inhibitor, but I just can’t deal with side effects. ill post a 3 month update today for my transplant.
Regular Member GhostCryptid13 Posted August 16, 2024 Author Regular Member Posted August 16, 2024 So small update on the fin, I may be having side effects. I’ll see how everything works/feels tomorrow and Saturday. If I still feel off I’ll wait a week and hop back on topical duta

Senior Member harryforreal Posted September 3, 2024 Senior Member Posted September 3, 2024 I feel quite confident that the grafts will grow. It's still early. But please keep us posted with pics!
Regular Member GhostCryptid13 Posted September 22, 2024 Author Regular Member Posted September 22, 2024 Does anyone know the reason why many/most of the middle and left side grafts are still dormant? Is this a normal thing; from what I’ve read they all should be emerging or emerged by now? I’ll be at the start of month 5 soon (on the 29th), so I’ll post a pic then!

It seemed to be on track, although maybe on the slow end of the range, at month 4. Great...i'm the kind of person who will easily think something in their head and convince themselves its going to happen, so i thought if i take topical i won't suffer the ED effects now it seems i won't even be able to try that since reading this post lol... sadly yes 100% serious, couple of times after drinking i couldn't get it up and in the past 5 years and gave myself mental anxiety even when not drinking everytime i have sex now i'm nervous wondering will it go up or no... For me it seems i won't be taking any hair meds at all then
