I think you should consult with the other doctors and then make an informed decision. Again there are cases with hairtransplant after traction alopecia where the result turned up really nice. I just had a consultation with with Russ who works with Dr Mani, he was so nice, I just need to book a face to face consultation which costs £150 or a zoom which costs £75, I opted for the face to face so hopefully that will be soon ☺️

I literally talked to him about it about 5 weeks ago. In any case, it doesn’t really matter. WMG’s email remains generic whether a good surgeon works there or not. As good as Miln seems to be, I’ve never seen a traction alopecia case by him. Worth a consultation definitely but for such a case Dr Ball would probably be the best and most experienced option. What makes you think the email is generic? I’d love to see the rest of what they said. It’s obviously a cropped email 😂 still my advice remains to Lodnon girl. I did reach out to Eva Proudman but she wants £310 for a London appointment 😖 if I’m being honest it’s been a very long time if the hair was gonna grow back it would of by now. When I went to see a hair specialist in Jan she did say there were no hair follicles in the traction area when using her scalp microscope but the rest of my head looked fine. I have my hopes for Dr Miln and Dr Mani 🤞🏼 Edited February 28 by LondonGirl2024

I just Googled Eva Proudman and she seems to be very well regarded in the UK. Best of look with your consults. Hopefully you’re a candidate for a procedure 👍

If it helps I have a HTP Scheduled with him in the Summer and It's been confirmed this week with Westminster Medical Group and with Dr Miln. I also saw from his socials about his own clinic he's setup, but unable to find anything on it? I assume it's "Dr Ted Hair Transplants" which I believe is based in Cardiff but haven't been able to find a website for it. Regular Member LondonGirl2024 Posted February 27 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 27 @Berba11 @jjalay @HairFunk @Gatsby @hrh93 I’ve had a phone consultation with Dr Miln and he said he doesn’t think it will be beneficial for me to see a Trichologist, only because there has been no pulling or hair loss for 20+ years, he asked me loads of questions, more importantly what I wanted to achieve from this and thinks the FUT procedure will be the best for me. He also mentioned Dr Ball and Dr Mani in our conversation and spoke really highly of them. I have a really good feeling with this doctor and I did say to him I’m willing to travel to his surgery in wales to have the HT as he’s just opened it. I still have to book a face to face consultation with Dr Mani and will make my decision 🤞🏼 THANK GOD I DIDN'T GO TO TURKEY LOL 😂 4

I asked him this also and he said he does 1-2 weeks in London every month and is continuing as normal. It appears he’s only switched his Cardiff procedural set-up leaving the Head Quarters clinic. I even found a photo of him from 2018 on Westminster Medicals Facebook stitching an FUT procedure so he’s been active a while / possibly trained there. I imagine keeping a hand in Harley Street makes sense for a surgeon with how accessible London is / airports etc. I’m just surprised there’s not more forum accounts for him though I guess we’ll start to see people post finally as his popularity rises.
Regular Member BlueSkyDay Posted February 27 Regular Member Share Posted February 27 (edited) Hello londongirl please also see Dr May (Wimpole ) for an opinion. Definitely avoid FUT. you do not want the scar. Be weary of those promoting FUT. I assume you have seen a dermatologist and they are unable to help Hey man, FUT strip is still a great option for some and arguably more accurate in terms of yield vs transaction from FUE (damaged hairs on extraction) most of the best surgeons worldwide offer it. Though most hair transplant ‘surgeons’ can’t do it as it requires surgical skill and is difficult to learn. Plus there’s no need to shave with an FUT strip as most women & men with long hair don’t want to shave their hair for FUE 👍
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted February 27 Valued Contributor Share Posted February 27 I would definitely recommend FUT for a female. It maintains a female’s natural full density in the rest of her hair. It’s still a case by case decision but FUT has advantages for females. 2 GATSBY 'UNPLUGGED!' 15,671 (3 surgeries) Grafts FUE+BHT Dr. Sethi Eugenix

You only deplete a smaller area which is easily covered by a women’s longer hair. The issue isn’t FUT it’s that only a relatively few surgeons these days can perform it properly. The surgeon you’ve chosen however is one of those in the UK with a good track record of FUT procedures. FUE on women and thinning out the hair in a much larger area is tricky. I hope everything goes well for you. When you feel up to it, it would definitely be great to see your journey documented on the forum. I think you'd be one of the first Dr Ted Miln cases on the forum, and certainly the first female case.

Regular Member rs525 Posted May 2 Regular Member Share Posted May 2 I'm assuming you're a woman going by your username so my recommendation is Dr. Ozlem Bicer as she is one of the most consistently best hair surgeons in Turkey. However she's not cheap. When I got my quote it was 6000 euros for up to 2000 grafts and the hotel and transfers cost extra. Good luck.

X Hey, most surgeons don't do FUT as they mostly train in FUE these days (much simpler to learn) FUT requires a lot of training / skill to complete successfully. It's a dying art with most of the newer breed of surgeons who don't learn it. Many years ago before FUE came about it was all that was available! It definitely has its place in the modern day to maximise the available donor hair and for longer hair cases like yours. I look forward to seeing your photos 👍
