Which Dr in Turkey

I recently put up a post about my traction alopecia. I am looking to go to turkey and narrowed down to two doctors, Dr Rasul Yaman and Dr Tayfun Oguzolglu.

Dr Yaman can perform FUE with my donor area shaved for £3250

Dr Tayfun can perform long hair FUE without shaving (I prefer this) for £5500

does anyone have feedback on both these doctors please?

As before, if you're limited to these doctors due to budget, then you should hold off for now, save up and keep researching. You should also seek consultation from some top doctors (even if you don't end up getting surgery with them, you should at least get their opinion on your case in person before doing anything else).

I haven't seen any traction alopecia cases on women from either of these doctors - have you? What criteria have you used to narrow things down to these two?

Dr Tayfun's reputation isn't great - you can type 'Tayfun' into the search function on here and see that for yourself. I wouldn't select either of these clincs for myself so couldn't in good faith recommend them to you.

Avoid them both. For your case its better to look for a doctor that does good work at temple points and also performs fut. Yaman doesnt do fut and i havent seen any cases with traction alopecia by woman from him, dr tayfun is probably one of the worst choices of a doctor in turkey.

@jjalay @Berba11 does the dr have to be an expert in the temple area? I’ve looked on here and Yaman has quite a few good reviews on here. Dr Tayfun not so much so he’s out of my options now.

im not looking for my hair line to be altered/lowered, I just for the bald patches to be filled in, can you rec anyone else turkey as UK is way out of my budget?

thanks

99% of HT patients don't get hair transplanted into the areas that you need - men or women. So ideally you need someone who has experience with female hair (remember that part of what you need will be at the hairline on the sides which requires very soft single grafts really nicely angled & feathered - in other words, high quality work that is very rarely displayed in Turkey) and someone who specifically has experience with traction alopecia. Should they be an expert in in the temple area? Absolutely.

It's a bit of a misconception that a HT is just moving hair from point A to point B and that it's all the same regardless. It really isn't! Certain areas of the head require a specific skill and experience set to make everything look natural. I don't think your case calls for a budget approach in Turkey. Your traction alopecia is quite advanced and needs to be handled by the best in class.

I've seen excellent female HT results from Eugenix in India (who will be about the same as Turkey price-wise). Other than that, the best female work most people on here will have seen will be the more expensive European doctors.

Well I have seen more cases from Dr Yaman, so i would definitely choose him. Dr Yaman is an ethical doctor and he has many great results on this community which you can check. You would be in safe hands with him. Other options could be turan, Gur and Demirsoy at a decent price.

It can be a minefield trying to find an excellent and ethical doctor when you commence researching for a hair transplant if you are a guy. It's even harder if you are a female. I would look at female result that are from females that have posted on this forum (granted they are few). I realise that surgery is expensive. But you are better off doing nothing if you are looking at Turkey because of the cost unless it's because you are happy with patient results from there. If you get a bad result from any surgeon then you will be begging for the balding area that you began with. Because balding, while not something anyone wants, does look natural and is something that we see in people both men and women. Keep researching. Like @Berba11 I have seen excellent results from Eugenix but I'm going to be called a schill if I keep mentioning them. There have been results that look excellent posted here before but they have been from a couple of clinics in the States and Europe. All the best.

You can't afford to take risks with the female hairline...It requires too much expertise! If a man gets a botched job on his hair he can always shave it bald. That's not an option for most women. Just save more money and do research at the same time and go to a clinic that has a lot of experience doing female hairlines. Dr Edward Ball (the Maitland clinic) from Portsmouth has some amazing results with female patients. On his website, it says for 1000 grafts he charges £5500. That's all you may need . At least have a consultation with him and see what he says.

Most doctors that specialize in female hairtransplant will explain to you that its always better to proceed with fut and not fue, its important to maintain the denstity in the donor area and most woman leave their hair long, the scar is not a problem. Edward ball in the uk, dr raghu reddy and mani mittal in the uk are good options. Other clinics you can look at are hattingen hair in switzerland or dr lupanzula and dr bisanga in belgium. These are just some examples. In your case i would avoid turkey, the risks that you will get botched are preety high.

Hey…. I took your advice and reached out to Dr Ball, Dr Mani and another Dr that was recommended on this forum Dr Miln. I’m still waiting to hear back from Dr Ball, Dr Mani I have a consultation with him on Monday and a video call with Dr Miln too.

I've had a consultation with Dr Jyotsna Kumari at the Liverpool Hair Transplant Clinic, she sent me some pictures of female patients she has worked on, has anyone heard of her? Her Trust Pilot reviews are all good but her google reviews are hit and miss.

I've also reached out to Eva Proudman.

I forgot to add, I also contacted Dr Arshad and sent my pictures across, his assistant Adam I think his name was, he said 9 times out of 10 hair transplants for traction alopecia doesn’t work and it’s something I will have to live with.

I"ve never heard of the other two doctors you are mentioning and if you cant find any independent reviews about their work its better to avoid them, truspilot or realself reviews are in many cases fake ant not trustworthy. Another doctor you should have a consultation with in the uk is doctor raghu reddy. After having consultation with these doctor ask them to show you results of their work and you can proceed witht the doctor you feel confident with. On the other hand if you are still not sure you have other great options in europe too.

Thank u…. Dr Reddy is way too expensive for me 🙈 for my traction alopecia I will need about 2000-2500 grafts so I’ve been told.

Do you have any suggestions for Europe? India is out of the question as I have two young children and can’t travel that far

In europe you can look at hattingen hair in switzerland for fut, bisanga and lupanzula in belgium, raphael de freitas and couto in spain, bruno pinto in portugal. These are all great options. If i were in you a would prompt for fut though, this is the way to go for a hairtransplant by women.

I’d steer clear of Kumari. Kyle Christie went to her and ended up having to go to Feriduni for repair work. He’s done a few podcasts about his experience. There’s better options in the UK.

Thank u for all the suggestions I will look into these all…. A few people have suggested to use a doctor who has experience in female HT but it’s quite hard as many females done want to be documented on. The only doctor I’ve seen with some female pictures is DR Ball and his are brilliant 🤩

id rather a FUT as I don’t want half my head shaved off. Most in turkey only offer FUE when I was enquiring and Dr Kumari was only offering FUE

Just a correction here... It was Lupanzula who fixed Kyle's HT, not Feriduni. But yea, Kumari and these other cowboys are no go.

Speaking of which:

Dr Feriduni in Belgium and Dr Laura & Dr Sever at Hattingen would be worth speaking to. To be honest there's loads of top doctors in Europe and everyone can give you a list of their favourites but you're best off using the Forum Recommended list at the top of the page, clicking through a few options and looking at their patient/photo gallery (you can filter for female HT cases).

Apologies, so it was. My memory isn’t what it used to be

Hattingen is a great call. They often go under the radar but should absolutely be ranked as one of the best in Europe. Super slick team with bags of experience in both FUT and FUE

@jjalay @Berba11 I’ve received this from the Westminster Medical Group, looks as though nothing can be done in my case, even if I was to receive a HT it might not even work, I have a feeling it won’t as I’ve have this for so long as was to embarrassed to to go to the doctors to do anything about it. IMG_0717.thumb.png.38a9092981f7da22751998c593ec8ee0.png

Do you know which Alopecia you have though? Important to get it diagnosed first to make sure it is traction. Is there anymore to that email above? I’d go visit a tricho expert first if I was you…

That’s just generic advise from a group that shouldn’t really be on your list. You’ve already got appointments/made contact with the some of the best hair restoration surgeons in the UK (Ball, Mani and Miln) - see what they say. In-person consults will be more instructive than pictures of course.

Obviously you may have to visit a tricho specialist as well. I know seeking multiple consultations is a pain in the backside and you may at first start getting conflicting information, but you can see now why in your case it’s really important to get proper assessments from the best guys rather than rush off to Turkey on the cheap.

Let us know what Dr Mani thinks and definitely try to get an appointment with Dr Ball. Dr Ball has a lot of female HT cases so is probably the most experienced UK surgeon you can speak to on this.

If you have traction alopecia and no other skin issues this is not a no go for a hairtransplant. I think you should consult with the other doctors and then make an informed decision. Again there are cases with hairtransplant after traction alopecia where the result turned up really nice.
