  1. I heard back from Dr. Nader from the initial consultation I sent him on March 31st and it said that 2000-2500 grafts would work for my receding hairline. I booked my spot for next year but now I have my concerns. A guy on Reddit told me he canceled his appointment as he landed in McAllen due to a lack of important basic communication with the clinic prior to the procedure and that Reynosa is a violent no go zone where people get killed. Plus I heard some people were not happy with Dr. Naders density on transplants.
  2. Now I have a new dilemma. I booked myself for Dr. Nader for next year but I keep getting conflicting reports here and on Reddit of who's better. Some people say Nader is better and Camacho is lousy or Nader is overrated and overpriced, doesn't have good hair density, completely lacking in communication and his clinic is in what is apparently a no go zone which recently had 27 people hatcheted to death. I hate all this indecisiveness, it's stressing me out.
  3. I hope Dr. Nader really lives up to the hype because it seems people violently disagree on who the best surgeons are and some will even say "Oh they're not very good and just cherry pick their results". I don't want to lose my faith in hair surgeons and give up my dream of getting a nice hairline.
  4. I've heard back from Dr Nader and he suggested 2000-2500 grafts for my Norwood 2.5 receding hairline. I've decided to with him and 2000 graft option despite his higher prices as I feel the most comfortable with him. I've put in my reservation for the summer of next year and I'm on the standby list in case anything turns up. I'm glad there's no deposit fee so I can cancel in case something changes. However a guy on Reddit told me he gave up on Nader right as he landed in McAllen due to lack of important communication prior to the surgery and that Reynosa is a no go zone where people get killed. Also I heard some people were unhappy with Dr. Naders density.
  5. Hey again, I'm the guy in the Jacksonville area. I don't know if you still check up on this thread. It turns out I'm somewhere between a Norwood 2 and 3 and after considering all my options, I decided to go with Dr. Luis Nader in Reynosa, Mexico. He is a little over my budget and he doesn't have anything until next year but I feel the most comfortable with him and he's easy to get to. He said I would need anywhere from 2000 to 2500 grafts. Bicer is also really expensive but combined with flight costs, super long flights that are hard to find, transfers and accomodations costing extra it wasn't worth it.
  6. I decided to go ahead with Dr. Nader because I felt more comfortable with him and think 2000 grafts would be enough for what I need (a conservative, natural looking hairline restoration) and put my reservation in for the summer of next year. I'm on a standby as well for the later half of the year and the first half of next year.
  7. Not bad. I heard back from Dr. Nader and he also suggested 2000-2500 grafts. However it's just my hairline that needs restoring and not diffuse thinning. I'm somewhere between Norwood 2 and 3 with no real diffuse thinning or any other balding areas as far as I know. Despite being more expensive than Dr. Sergio Camacho, I decided to go with him as I just feel more comfortable going to him and I think I can afford it especially if I use his hotel and payment discounts. Between the two options of 2000 and 2500 grafts I decided to go with 2000 grafts since it's cheaper and I think that's all I would need for a natural conservative hairline. I've already placed my reservation for the summer of next year and put myself on the standby list in case anything turns up.
  8. You ended up being absolutely right. I actually heard back from Dr. Nader, saying I would need between 2000-2500 grafts and the costs and discounts were exactly the same. Unfortunately he has nothing available until next year. Now I don't know if I should go with him or Bogota Hairlines.
  9. Well guess what? I ACTUALLY heard back from the hard to get a hold of Dr. Luis Nader about my consultation. Yeah, he actually responded to my email and said I could do with a hair transplant. The good news is that he said anywhere from 2000-2500 grafts (I'm somewhere between a Norwood 2 and 3) would be best for me and they still have discounts for staying 2 nights in a hotel in McAllen, Texas ($300 reimbursement off transplant) and a 10% discount for paying with half cash and half card. The bad news however is the price and availability. The PDF he sent said it would be $7453 for 2000 grafts or $8750 for 2500 grafts (ultimately that's about $3.60 per graft). And according to his calendar, he has LITERALLY nothing available until next year. Dr. Sergio Camacho with Bogota Hairlines is only charging $2.70 a graft (wanted 2400-2800 grafts) and Bogota is still cheap and easy to get to for me. I don't know about his availability but Abraham his consultant has been generally responsive with my questions. At this point should I just go with Dr. Camacho as he's cheaper, easier to get to and still considered very good, or should I save up my money and wait until next year for Dr. Nader? I know he has cancellations but who knows when that will happen plus there are probably hundreds of people in front of me waiting to jump in on an appointment
  10. When I consulted with her clinic recently I was quoted for anywhere between 1300-1700 grafts. The price was 6000 euros for up to 2000 grafts. I decided not to go with her.
  11. Hope it turns out well. I'm still waiting to hear back from Dr. Nader's office about a consultation. I hate to ask but how much did you pay per graft or was it a fixed price?
  12. So far so good. I'm hoping to hear back from Dr. Nader about a consultation. I hate to ask but how much did you pay per graft or was it a fixed price?
  13. I'm assuming you're a woman going by your username so my recommendation is Dr. Ozlem Bicer as she is one of the most consistently best hair surgeons in Turkey. However she's not cheap. When I got my quote it was 6000 euros for up to 2000 grafts and the hotel and transfers cost extra. Good luck.
  14. So far so good. I'm in a similar situation to you (the clinic said I was also between a NW 2 and 3, almost same age a year older) and Dr. Gur also recommended between 1500 to 2000 grafts. I've decided if I do need a hair transplant and have to go to Turkey, I'm choosing FUECapilar after doing a lot of research.
  15. It looks good so far. Personally I am no longer considering Dr. Yaman because I heard he only does the consultations and incisions, everything else he leaves to his techs. Even if he does supervise them, I want to have the peace of mind that a Dr. is involved in all stages not just supervising so if I did have to go to Turkey for a transplant I'm going with FUECapilar.
  16. An update to this based on the consultations I've had, I've decided if I need a transplant in the future, my first choice is Bogota Hairlines in Colombia. The prices are a little high but plane tickets are cheaper than Turkey and there is no jet lag since they're only an hour back. Dr. Luis Nader is still being considered if I I ever hear back from them and the price is fair. If I DID have to fly all the way to Turkey and pay roughly $1500 for a roundtrip ticket, I would go with FUECapilar (Dr Turan or Dr Gur) since they are cheaper, include all hotel and transfers and still provide generally good results, a good balance. Erkan Demirsoy and Ozlem Bicer seem to give excellent results but the base prices for surgery are way more expensive, plus transfers and accommodations are extra.
  17. I've decided I'm going to drop Dr. Ozlem Bicer and Erkan Demirsoy because they exceed my price point. She's just too expensive between of the cost of the procedure, plane tickets to Istanbul seem to hover around $1500, how long it takes to get there and all transfers and accommodations cost extra, even then you only get two nights. I understand she's one the best and most ethical surgeons out there and I'm sure like all Turkish doctors she's great if you live in Europe where it's much cheaper and easier to get to Turkey. I understand the whole you shouldn't limit yourself to one geographic area but you have to understand I hate really long flights and jet lag so I'd rather go with Dr. Luis Nader in Mexico if I ever hear back from him and the price is fair or Bogota Hairlines in Colombia. If I REALLY needed to go to Turkey I would go with FUECapilar (Dr. Gur or Dr. Turan). They're probably not that less expensive but they're significantly cheaper and easier to get to from Florida.
  18. Welcome to the site. Although I probably wouldn't recommend Dr. Aygin because he seems more like a hair mill. It's generally agreed on the Internet that the best Turkish doctors are Resul Yaman, Dogan Turan and Gokhan Gur with Fuecapilar, Erkan Demirsoy and Ozlem Bicer, all in Istanbul. If you go to Ankara, Abdul Muttalip Keser and Kaan Pekiner are highly regarded but hard to get a hold of.
  19. I just heard back from their consultant Abraham. He said the Doctor recommended between 2400-2800 grafts, the hotel and transfers and medications are included. Unfortunately the prices have gone up with Dr. Camacho wanting $2.70 per graft and Dr. Pareja wanting $2.20 per graft. They have a new third option with a Dr. Gina Carranza for a fixed price of $5300. Not counting plane tickets which cost on average $350, I'm looking at spending anywhere between $5280 to $7560 depending on how many grafts are needed and who's the main doctor performing the procedure. I'm disappointed that it's not much cheaper than going to Turkey. Still I'll probably go with them because Turkey takes forever for me to get to, round trip flights hover around the $1500 mark where I'm at and I hate spending a long time on airplanes and jet lag. Also Dr. Nader hasn't got back to me and appears to be charging about $3.50 a graft. The good doctors are getting more expensive while the hair mills are still cheap. No wonder people go to these hair mills, it sucks.
  20. So it's looking more and more like Bogota Hairlines will be my choice if I ever get a hair transplant. Unfortunately it looks like Dr. Nader takes forever to reach and his prices and wait times have shot up while Turkey is too far away and plane tickets are really expensive. From what I've seen and heard Dr. Camacho and his team look like winners, the price is still a very good deal. I am aware that a couple of members on here didn't have a good experience with them, but it seems the positive cases outweigh the negatives. It appears all hair transplants are a crapshoot.
  21. Would you say they are better than Dr. Cortez with HMR in Tijuana? HMR seems to be hit and miss with people and Dr. Camacho looks better but I saw a couple of patients on this forum who had issues with him and his crown work (my crown is fine thankfully).
  22. I contacted Bogota Hairlines and they responded quickly enough on Whatsapp. Abraham their consultant asked me the usual questions about medications, age, have you ever had a transplant before, any allergies and medical conditions. Sent them the pictures and will hear back by the end of next week. They're looking more and more enticing to me.
  23. Does anybody have experience with Dr. Sergio Camacho of Bogota Hairlines in Colombia? I'm thinking if considering them for a transplant in case Dr. Nader or five doctors in Turkey I've consulted don't work out. He seems to held in good regard on this forum and Reddit, and the package including transport, 3 night hotel, and a bilingual private concierge are tempting. I assume prices are good, flights to Bogota are cheaper and take less time to get to then Turkey, and surprisingly Bogota is apparently safer than Reynosa Mexico where Dr. Nader is located. He also does only one surgery a day. Let me know what any of you think.
  24. I finally heard back from the last clinic I had in mind for Turkey, FUECapilar. Both Doctors Turan and Gur assessed my case and came to different conclusions. Both actually said I'm somewhere between a Norwood 2 and 3 so it's good to get some confirmation. Baki from Fuecapilar said they both operate on a max of two patients a day. First Doctor Turan. He said I would need somewhere between 1750 and 2250 grafts based on my photos. The implant procedure would be DHI and the total cost including 2 nights at a 4 star hotel, all transfers and a deposit to book the appointment is 3600 euros (about $3835). An 18% VAT charge is applied if paying with a card. Unlike Dr. Gur a translator will be provided since I know he doesn't speak English and uses a needle free preanesthetic. The hairline he drew out is below. Dr. Gur on the other hand seems to be a little more conservative and suggested 1500-2000 grafts. He uses FUE Sapphire implantation and the package deal is mostly the same (no translator or preanesthetic). The cost is 3800 euros for the standard package or for an extra 100 euros Dr. Gur will perform the graft extractions. 18% VAT charge + a 3% bank fee if paying with a card. The hairline he drew out is below. And with that, that's the five doctors in Turkey I'm considering. I'm dropping Dr. Kayihan Sahinoglu because although he seems like a decent ethical guy but he never responded to my follow up email answering his questions and sending him photos. Let me know what you all think. So far I think if I get a hair transplant in Turkey I would go with one of the doctors from Fuecapilar taking price into account because round trip plane tickets to Istanbul are stupidly expensive ranging from about 1200 to 2000 dollars depending on the time of year.
