  1. Would you say they are better than Dr. Cortez with HMR in Tijuana? HMR seems to be hit and miss with people and Dr. Camacho looks better but I saw a couple of patients on this forum who had issues with him and his crown work (my crown is fine thankfully).
  2. I contacted Bogota Hairlines and they responded quickly enough on Whatsapp. Abraham their consultant asked me the usual questions about medications, age, have you ever had a transplant before, any allergies and medical conditions. Sent them the pictures and will hear back by the end of next week. They're looking more and more enticing to me.
  3. Does anybody have experience with Dr. Sergio Camacho of Bogota Hairlines in Colombia? I'm thinking if considering them for a transplant in case Dr. Nader or five doctors in Turkey I've consulted don't work out. He seems to held in good regard on this forum and Reddit, and the package including transport, 3 night hotel, and a bilingual private concierge are tempting. I assume prices are good, flights to Bogota are cheaper and take less time to get to then Turkey, and surprisingly Bogota is apparently safer than Reynosa Mexico where Dr. Nader is located. He also does only one surgery a day. Let me know what any of you think.
  4. I finally heard back from the last clinic I had in mind for Turkey, FUECapilar. Both Doctors Turan and Gur assessed my case and came to different conclusions. Both actually said I'm somewhere between a Norwood 2 and 3 so it's good to get some confirmation. Baki from Fuecapilar said they both operate on a max of two patients a day. First Doctor Turan. He said I would need somewhere between 1750 and 2250 grafts based on my photos. The implant procedure would be DHI and the total cost including 2 nights at a 4 star hotel, all transfers and a deposit to book the appointment is 3600 euros (about $3835). An 18% VAT charge is applied if paying with a card. Unlike Dr. Gur a translator will be provided since I know he doesn't speak English and uses a needle free preanesthetic. The hairline he drew out is below. Dr. Gur on the other hand seems to be a little more conservative and suggested 1500-2000 grafts. He uses FUE Sapphire implantation and the package deal is mostly the same (no translator or preanesthetic). The cost is 3800 euros for the standard package or for an extra 100 euros Dr. Gur will perform the graft extractions. 18% VAT charge + a 3% bank fee if paying with a card. The hairline he drew out is below. And with that, that's the five doctors in Turkey I'm considering. I'm dropping Dr. Kayihan Sahinoglu because although he seems like a decent ethical guy but he never responded to my follow up email answering his questions and sending him photos. Let me know what you all think. So far I think if I get a hair transplant in Turkey I would go with one of the doctors from Fuecapilar taking price into account because round trip plane tickets to Istanbul are stupidly expensive ranging from about 1200 to 2000 dollars depending on the time of year.
  5. You're lucky to hear back from Dr. Nader. I'm still waiting for a response from them as they're probably my top choice for convenience but the price they quoted you unfortunately has me worried as it seems the price has gone up significantly, plus the fact they are inundated with consultations and surgeries so who knows what will happen.
  6. Plus Ankara is more expensive and further away than Istanbul, plus Pekiner is nearly impossible to get a hold of and has no website or any sort of contact information. That doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in me. I'm also waiting to hear back if ever from Dr. Luis Nader who is probably my top choice for price, location and great results.
  7. I haven't consulted with them or have any intention to. I've heard back from Bicer, Yaman and Demirsoy. FUECAPILAR should be responding back in a couple of days. Those are pretty much the only doctors in Turkey I would consider and possibly Kayihan Sahinoglu.
  8. Another clinic is out for me. Miami Hair Institute quoted me for 1600-1800 grafts and it was $8 per graft for their FUE procedure so I was looking at anywhere between $12,800 and $14,400 for a transplant. No thanks.
  9. OK folks we've got a big one. Dr. Ozlem Bicer's clinic responded with a very professionally made pdf stating that based on my hair loss, I could use 1500 grafts, give or take 200 grafts. Price for up to 2000 grafts is 6000 euros, after that it is 3 euros per graft and any card purchase would result in a 10% commission. Transfers from airport to hotel and accomodations are extra though.
  10. Wow that's amazing. You've really given this man a new lease on life. I'll be honest when I got your consultation for a transplant, I didn't feel confident but if this what you can do, I'll keep you in mind if I need a transplant in the future.
  11. Another clinic has replied to me, this time it's Armamed where Dr. Erkan Demirsoy works. His assistant Muzaffer said Dr. Demirsoy suggested anywhere between 2700-3200 grafts to the front area for a conservative hairline. The cost in cash is 1.8 euros per graft or 1.5 euros if half of the extractions are done by a nurse with 16 years experience in extraction. There is 20% difference if paying with a card because of bank commission. The operation price also includes medication (antibiotics and painkillers), a wash the day after, a special shampoo and seawater spray panthenol spray. Transfers and accommodation they can organize according to the wish of their patients. 2 nights accommodation in 4 star hotel (breakfast included, single room ) and all transfers between airport - hotel and clinic costs 270 euro.(if the flights will be to /from Sabiha Gökçen airport). If I want to stay a few days longer its possible. I'm surprised, I guess this is normal for Turkish hair transplants because Dr. Yaman's assessment was not far off. However Demirsoy is more expensive for a cost ranging anywhere from $4389 to $6242 in cash depending on the number of grafts and who's performing the extractions. Still waiting to hear back from Dr. Luis Nader, Dr. Ozlem Bicer, Fuecapilar and Dr. Kayihan Sahinoglu to see what they think, but so far based on the three clinics I've heard back from, the median number of grafts is around 2400 (Nusbaum suggesting 1600-1800 grafts being the lowest and Resul Yaman being in the middle).
  12. Here's another photo I just took of the top of my head in my usual styling. The forelock area to me looks less dense than the rest of my hair. Edit: Added photos of the front and sides to give you a better idea.
  13. I'm probably in the same boat as you as far as your original hairline is concerned. I've sent a consultation to Dr. Nader and still waiting to hear back and see what they think.
  14. I'm also not sure where I am on the Norwood scale. So far none of the clinics I've had contact with have told me where I am. That's why I'm consulting and doing research to see what I need to do in the near future. If I end up not needing a transplant, I'll still be happy since I will save a lot of money.
  15. I'm just shopping around for opinions on whether or not I need a transplant because I have a genetic history of balding on my father's side of the family. It seemed to me like my hairline has been receding since my late teens and it has always bugged me.
  16. Also thank you Gatsby for visiting my post. Your story is insane.
  17. I'm actually consulting them as well. They seem to be much more professional from what I've heard back from them so far. Still waiting to hear what they think.
  18. I'm not sure about lowering it, I told them like all the other people I'm consulting that I wanted something natural looking, age appropriate and will still look good in the years to come.
  19. For clarification I turn 30 next month and have been taking some form of finasteride and minoxidil since October 2022. Currently I am on Musely Bloom Hair Pill which has dutasteride, minoxidil and biotin in it.
  20. I'm still deciding. Not sure if I need one or not. 2 clinics I've heard back from said suggested yes and one in Tijuana, Dr. Ana Hernandez of Neopel Clinic said no, that I looked perfectly fine.
  21. I feel bad for the guy. He's my first option too since he's easy enough for me to get to, his works speak for themselves and he seems like a very nice humble fellow. But I think lots of people especially in North America want to go to him so they don't have to fly halfway around the world to places like Turkey or India for affordable transplants.
  22. As stated in my other post "Newcomer looking for advice", one of the doctors I wanted to reach out to was Resul Yaman based on the fact he is a forum recommended surgeon both here and on other places like Reddit. I sent my photos in for consultation with my only concern being my hairline, everything else including my crown is perfectly fine. His assistant Doga Oksuzoglu responded relatively quickly with an email saying I would need 2500 grafts, my donor area looked good and offered a $3250 package including the following Pre and post consultations with doctor * Blood analysis and PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) * DHI Operation * Post operative control and cure * Post operative medicines * Special shampoo and lotion for the first 10 washing * First washing by a specialist * 3 nights 5* hotel (double room-breakfast inc.) * Transfers (airport-hotel-clinic-airport) I'm not sure about 2500 grafts because Dr. Ana Hernandez of Neopel Clinic in Tijuana believed I didn't need a transplant and Miami Hair Institute where Dr. Nusbaum works suggested 1600-1800 grafts. Does that seem reasonable based on the hairline shown in the attached photos? Afterwards I asked Doga more questions to make sure this place is legit and his response, combined with the misspelled stilted English seemed to be off putting. I'm sure he's probably a nice man but I do seem a little concerned, along with the fact a few people on this forum said they were not happy with Dr. Yaman. Should I still consider Dr. Yaman for a hair transplant or should I look into other options?
  23. I considered TJ Hair Clinic initially but I have since reconsidered because they look more like a hair mill with no certifiable doctors performing the procedures. If I had to guess between the two go with HMR, but do more research in finding a good surgeon.
  24. If you do end up going to Turkey for a hair transplant (particularly Istanbul), the four best according to this forum and the Hair Transplant forum on Reddit are Dr. Ozlem Bicer, Dr. Resul Yaman, Dr. Erkan Demirsoy with Armamed and Drs. Gokhan Gur and Dogan Turan with FUECapilar. I've sent consultations with them and waiting to hear back from everyone except Yaman. Don't do this on a whim and avoid hair mills.
