Senior Member Myles23 Posted April 6 Author Senior Member Share Posted April 6 (edited) Few days away from my 3 month mark. Still microdosing 2.5mg cialis / viagra per day as well as 2.5mg oral minoxidil. Enjoyed the whole process so far and I’m sure it’s only going to get better from here on in. Also attached my surgical report. Edited April 6 by Myles23

Senior Member Ajamilo Posted April 16 Senior Member Share Posted April 16 That is pretty good growth in only 3 months . It looks like your hair colour changed too haha
Senior Member Myles23 Posted April 16 Author Senior Member Share Posted April 16 It has gone a lot darker which is a bit strange. Can only think it’s due to oral minoxidil or the lack of sunshine in the UK
Regular Member Stoner Posted April 16 Regular Member Share Posted April 16 (edited) Hair darkening is among the known side-effects of minoxidil, particularly in its oral form, if I am not mistaken. Edited April 16 by Stoner

Thanks @Bandit90. Hopefully for both of us pal. My 1st hair transplant failed badly and even though I’m only at 3 months from my 2nd, doubts were starting to creep in. Cheers @Stoner. I never knew this. Had friends and family comment on how dark it’s looking. Don’t mind giving away the blonde as long as the hairline returns to a decent state
Regular Member baddecisions Posted April 16 Regular Member Share Posted April 16 Hair in donor tends to be a bit darker (and stronger) and oral minoxidil may have affected as well.
Senior Member Myles23 Posted April 16 Author Senior Member Share Posted April 16 It’s gone darker across my whole head so you’re right, must be down to the oral minoxidil

I thought it was a bit conservative straight after my procedure but I’m liking how it’s taking shape.
Senior Member Myles23 Posted May 7 Author Senior Member Share Posted May 7 (edited) Month 4 Update: Photos of where I started vs where I am today 4 months since my procedure with Dr Turan @FUECAPILAR . Happy with how things are evolving so far. Oral minoxidil has definitely been a game changer thickening up my existing hair. My current medication stack below for anyone interested. 2.5mg oral minoxidil morning daily 1.25mg cialis / 1.25mg viagra (will stop in 4 weeks) Topical Minoxidil evening daily Edited May 7 by Myles23

Regular Member Affectionatefail25 Posted May 7 Regular Member Share Posted May 7 @Myles23 no finasteride after hair transplant? Your hair transplant looks fabulous. What did the surgeon say about finasteride. @Gatsby what’s your opinion about finasteride after a hair transplant? I can’t tolerate it anymore! Thanks everyone! If you can’t tolerate Finasteride (oral) then you could look at a topical option. Failing that I would just cease the drug and try oral minoxidil. Not perfect but better than nothing. I've been on and off finasteride for the last 10 years, i don't tolerate the oral form in any dosage. I've been using topical solution with finasteride / minoxidil for the past year and tolerated it well however we are currently in the throws of deciding whether to have our second child so I've been off it the past 4 months. I would definitely recommend trying the topical finasteride. Oral minoxidil has been a game changer for my existing hair.

Even though I've experienced fast growth, there is always that niggling doubt that hopefully this isn't the full grafts that have grown through.
