Hi I am new to this forum and seeking some advice so I hope guys here can help from their experience and expertise. I had my transplant 3 weeks ago in Turkey. I got 3,300 grafts implanted at the front and mid scalp and nothing on the crown as I was told that my door area is too weak to extract too many grafts from so they said they will try get the maximum.

I have attached some pics that show my head straight after the procedure up to the 10th wash where I was told to remove the scabs. I guess what I really want to know is about the density and what can I expect.

Sorry to tell you but this is another "Turkey Special." Not only is this not 3300 grafts, Extracting 3300 grafts and saying a "weak donor area" is an oxymoron. As long as people dont do their due diligence surgeries like this are going to keep happening.

Or maybe most guys are simply cheapskate looking for a 2k-3k euro surgery.

you cant blame people. They are not experts. I would not know the difference between a $10 steak and a $200 piece of steak cause I am not a chef or food specialist. I just go for what i think is good value. unfortunately with hair transplant you are playing with an aspect of your facial feature which is a huge part of self identity. One mistake and you can end up with a lifetime of regret. Not to mention most repairs are hard to execute cause of the finite hair supply.

It’s good that these photos were taken because they can be magnified and an accurate count of the total grafts placed can be tallied…will the total be 3300?!..🤨…will you seek a refund?…are your thoughts similar?

I’ll be blunt, this is not going to be dense result and it doesn’t look like 3300 grafts were used either. Your hairs will end up looking sparse at the 12 months final result.
If you have a weak donor they should have never tried extracting 3300 grafts to begin with.

You should have started your research on this forum before you had a hair transplant.

Thank you guys for your reply like I said I’m new to this forum and still getting used to how it works around here.

@Maorizio it’s not about being cheapskate I was ready to pay any amount it’s my scalp after all I won’t willingly sabotage my own head maybe that’s your mentally not mine. Only mistake I made was not researching enough and only found this forum late.

@shiba1985 @gillenator @Sunset Dune do you guys know if I can grow my native hair back I have very thin small hair on my temples and at the brown area even some on the transplanted area. I have attached some pictures. I have been taking oral minoxidil but not seeing any results I did however take topical minoxidil few years ago where I did see some growth but I stopped after while due to covid I got very lazy.

How long have you been taking oral minoxidil and at what dose? You need to be taking this at the right dose for at least six months or more. By around one year the benefits will peak. But getting back to your question on density, etc. 3,300 will never be enough to cover a Norwood 6 area. To me I don't think it's this number and I agree with what @gillenator has said. But it's way too soon to be judging results and for this you need patience right up to the 12 month mark. Then you can address how you feel about the results. A lot of this also depends on how realistic your goals are and exactly what were your goals surgically to begin with? All the best.

Thank you so much for getting back to me. I have been taking oral minoxidil at 2.5mg for almost a year now, however they have been times where I’ve missed a few days or up to a week due to travelling and forgetting to take it. Do you think taking topical version of finestride at 0.3% and minoxidil at 6% will benefit those tiny dots near my temple and crown?

In terms of expectations I always knew I would never have the head of hairs I had when I was younger I just want enough for it to be covered as it was near to bald before. Also as mentioned I have very small native hair that I can see on the transplanted area. Is there a way they can grow from medication at all?

also if you don’t mind is there a way I can find out exactly how many grafts were implanted so I can go back to the clinic and get a refund if need be as they have provided me with a gurantee certificate.

3,300 grafts spread over such a large area may misleadingly give the appearance that you haven't in fact had that many grafts. What you need to do is go through the painstaking process of counting the graphs.

I've seen people colour-count their graphs every 100 incisions on here before and post the photos. I don't know what app or program they've used to do it so maybe someone could chip in and you could then count them up for yourself to see.

From the pics, the hairline density might be ok. The bit on top looks very light on density however and being a NW6 you'll need 6,000 grafts++ to achieve decent coverage (basic guideline is 1000 grafts per NW level but often you'll need above that number).

It would be useful to name the clinic.
