Hair transplant - Dr Jean Luc Portelli, Malta

Dr. Jean Luc Portelli is a gem in the world of hair transplants. After a friend's recommendation, I went to him for a procedure earlier this year. His pre-op explanation was thorough, and his professionalism was evident throughout. The surgery, lasting from 10am to 2pm, was painless with 2500-3000 grafts for my temple hairline and crown.

What amazed me most was the lack of discomfort afterward. By my friend's wedding just six weeks later, no one noticed the recent transplant. Within a month, I could see visible results, especially in the hairline. Now at the 7-month mark, the improvement is continuous.

I credit also the incredible progress to a regimen of Minoxidil, finasteride, and trichosol, with zero side effects which was suggested to my by Dr Portelli himself. Dr. Portelli's frequent follow-ups and updates on progress have been reassuring. For anyone contemplating a similar procedure, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Jean Luc Portelli. He's a true expert who cares about results.

The below are some photos before the op, after the op, and the last two photos were taken in October showing the progress.

This guy looks very goos. He can be a great name in the future.
That said, my personal question to you is...what does it mean 2500-3000 grafts???? Don't you know how many grafts you got????

To be exact i had 2200 hairline and 250 in the crown. The attached photo is the doner area just 1 week after the op.

how much does he charge per graft atm?

I'm not sure exactly how much because he gives a general quote not per graft, but I would say approximately 1 euro per graft.

very nice result - im at the 4.5 months mark myself with this doctor and sadly cannot say the same. I know it might be too early but my donor does not look the same - I have clear demarcation lines from where the grafts where taken when the barber shows me the mirror back of my head its very clear from where they were taken - even with relatively longer hair. I think my skin to hair contrast doesnt help aswell. Also have some cobblestoning/tenting infront which might be my physiology and doubles in the very front row. Obv need to see final result but doesnt look promising. WIll see if I can create a seperate thread with some photos when i get the time.

Post your experience so you can track it. No one’s happy at 4.5 months to be fair.

You're still at a very early stages. You will see the end result after a full year.
