Been told it is with FP now to dispatch. I went for 0.01% Finasteride and no Dut. I noticed you said you'll get blood tests done before starting on your Dut. Did you get the bloods done? I am also thinking of getting bloods done before starting the medication. So if you could give some advice please, which test did you have done and what is the normal range of DHT that one should see in their blood so not to have sides associated with Fin/Dut? I checked on medichecks they have a DHT test. But I am not sure if DHT levels or Testosterone levels is what I should have checked? Thanks Regarding which tests to get, everyone will have slightly different opinions on what to test and what is necessary but here are a few videos regarding blood tests before starting 5ari. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFS1yEYlvC0 (what Derek recommends in the video https://ibb.co/5Wm85wm ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oa24HrCDGhk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zh1tepRuTKM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHastOn1NdU&t All depends on your budget to be honest (possibly ask your GP if they are willing to do any of these tests) but I got the Comprehensive TRT Blood Test - Balance My Hormones + a DHT test. That one includes everything in this test (Body Transformation Blood Test from Ultimate Performance & Medichecks) + PSA and Progesterone (the balancemyhormones and medichecks tests both go to the same Lab as far as I know - Eurofins County Pathology) (the Ultimate Performance test is sometimes on offer for £149.99) You can also test Free DHT but I don't think it’s available in the UK (from my research) although it can be manually calculated supposedly. Can test Pregnenolone prior also. Also just to note Derek (first video 3min 36sec) recommends LC/MS Total Testosterone, Free Testosterone (Equilibrium Dialysis) testing etc which are more accurate but balancemyhormones, medichecks (Eurofins County Pathology) only uses the standard testing methods. I’m not sure if LC/MS testing etc is available in the UK. Regarding what is a normal DHT level in terms of side effects, this will probably depend on the individual. Checking DHT levels in the blood doesn't really tell you what is happening at the receptor level. Maybe @Melvin- Admin can comment on this question. Senior Member mustang Posted January 4 Senior Member Share Posted January 4 (edited) You don't need bloodwork to start Finasteride nor Dutasteride. 99% of patients never do a hormonal panel before starting and if you get high estrogen symptoms you will know It's not like you can do anything to increase your DHT nor Progesterone (which is massive on the NFL signaling) If you want to know how Finasteride affected your hormones then just get Test, SHBG, Albumin, LF, FSH, Estradiol and DHT. That will give you enough information. Your DHT will go down, your E2 will go up, your LH will go down and your Total T will go down a little. Best way to manage this is staying below 12% bodyfat and micro dosing Finasteride. Yet to meet someone with side effects that's in top shape. I will say, be sensible on your dosing. 1mg daily or EOD is overkill. 0.25mg 3 times a week is enough for most. Topically 0.025% or 0.01% if using 2ml daily or EOD is enough for most.
