How do you decide what strength topical dut to purchase? 2%, 1% and 0.05%?

I see 2%, 1% and 0.05%

Is it better to start at the lower end and then move up if you are side-effect-free.

I was interested in xyon, but saw that is was at 2%.

Having had sides from all forms of fin before, I am uncertain where to start percentage wise.

Given there are very few studies about topical dut and its all off licence, no one really knows.

I've never committed to it. But from all the threads I read all over the Internet (most started by mustang), the consensus seemed to be about 1ml of 0.1% per week...as an average ball park.

However...if it were me personally and I had committed to using it, I would use a lower dose and and frequency. If you read about dutasteride mesotherapy, they only use 0.1mg (not 0.1% which is 1mg) and in some studies only gave it once every 3months!!! But once every month seemed more common. I know topical isn't the same as meso...and the dut has to penetrate the barriers of the skin layers...however...just be aware...dut is potent stuff. On paper 0.1mg taken orally will suppress a lot of DHT.

I personally struggle with the idea of dut in any form at the moment. My sides with fin were unpleasant enough and lasted long enough. Something which is more potent and has a longer half life (albeit there seems to be some studies which suggest this is dose dependent) just puts me off at the moment. A hair transplant surgeon I spoke with actually told me he felt topical dut will just go systemic. For what that's worth.

Melvin is apparently having a good time with the xyon product though. And that is designed to not go systemic. The product uses a large dose of dut i beleive though! 25mg per dose! Never used it so can't comment.

It all depends on the vehicle, in my opinion. If you use something like trichosol, it should be 0.01%. Farmacia Parati or Xyon should probably be around 1-2%. Anything less won't be effective. Dutasteride already has a hard time penetrating because of the Dalton size. Anything above 500 daltons doesn't penetrate that well into the skin.  Dutasteride is 537, so it's right around the threshold. If the vehicle is a silicone-based liposomal, it will penetrate very slowly. The concentration has to be higher; otherwise, it's somewhat pointless. If you don't feel comfortable, you might be better off with angenicas 0.01% trichosol vehicle. It's recommended to take once per week.

does xyon deliver a measured dosage through a pump? s it enough to wide area of scalp? and are you using it once a week as well or staggering?
