Wow another death. A man killed himself in the UK because of a failed HT. Both pf these deaths could’ve been prevented if they would’ve found this community.

Maybe the guy from India could have been helped or guided to choose a better clinic/Dr, but I cannot agree at all about the other person who has BDD, that needs medial support and professional help. As good as this community can be with help/support/guidance it does have its limits. I disagree with this statement.

This industry seriously needs some regulation. It's not like making thousands of surgical extractions + anesthetics is a "light procedure" just because it is cosmetic. It is a legit surgery which should enforce prepared and licensed technicians. This can't really fall into the "cosmetic hyaluronic injection" clinic type of thing.

Even dentists (excluding mouth surgery) do a lot of proccedures that are much lighter than a HT and need to have licenses and strict regulation, so how come anyone can do a HT legally?

Hope things change for the better but some of those countries never had much ethics in that regard anyway.

If he would’ve found this forum, no doubt he would’ve been told he wasn’t a candidate.

I didn't see any pictures of either one of them. Without pictures there's no way to know how bad that hair transplants were or if one wasn't a candidate or had BDD. Just because the news article says he did, doesn't mean anything. He could have been legitimately traumatized by the disfiguring of a bad hair transplant. We just don't know. Unless there are pictures I'm missing.

I would say his support system could've and should've done a better job. I know my friends get ruthless with these types of things.. its a sad story, but information and medical help would've played a par in avoiding this, but no matter what help or info you get, if your friends rip on you for a bad HT constantly,  no amount of counseling can repair your fractured confidence. And Im very thick skinned, but I could see my whole world get shattered by that.
