Will Local Anesthetic affect my hair transplant 2 months post op?

Although the administration of the local anesthetic in itself should not harm the grafts, is it possible that the regrowth or start of the regrowth cycle be affected?… so, I strongly recommend that you first discuss this with the HT surgeon that did your procedure.

Cheesey wonder,

I can’t imagine that undergoing a local anesthetic for eye surgery two months after your FUE hair transplant will have any bearing or impact on your hair transplant procedure. I know that Gillenator suggested by his use of a question mark that the hair growth cycle may somehow be affected which may potentially delay growth, but I haven’t seen any evidence nor have I heard anything like this.

Thus, I doubt this is going to be an issue but I do agree that it’s always best to ask any surgical related question directly to your hair transplant doctor.

Best wishes,

I received an FUE 2 months ago. I have an eyelid cyst I would get removed with local anesthetic and forceps. Will the local anesthetic affect the result of my transplant?

Is there a reason you can't ask the operating doctor?

I don't see any reason why you would have any issues, I have tagged @DrTBarghouthi our resident physician, perhaps he can shine some light.

Considering that you will be undergoing the procedure under local anaesthesia and that the local anaesthetic will be administered in a site different to where the transplant was done- in this case the eyelid- then there should be no impact on your transplant whatsoever.

Just to clarify, I do not think the anesthetic would “harm” the grafts, more of could it induce some of the native follicles to retreat into a resting phase or remain in the resting phase for a longer period.
