What exactly does it mean to do your due diligence or homework i hear these terms but never understood what it exactly meant.

I'm pretty sure you could have googled this term yourself. It basically means to do as much research and investigation in to the field you are choosing to get yourself into

I think OP is looking to establish in the context of hair transplants specifically what due diligence/homework needs to be carried out from a patient PoV.

Like do we specifically need to know our hair calibre, our density per cm/2. Our current Norwood Scale rating etc.

To throughly research, take time and speak to patients. Consult with several doctors, go in person for consultations.

A hair transplant can be a life changing event, many times for the good but sometimes the bad. Verify all the information you are given. We have never been better equipped to check clinics and their results. Forums such HRN are a great resource. Caveat emptor - 'let the buyer beware'

Take a look at my recent post regard checking the documents you may be asked to sign.

Jerome,

I guess that really is an expression that a lot of us use here use on the discussion forum. But doing your due diligence in researching when it comes to hair transplant surgery and physicians means to learn everything you can about the procedure, its benefits and limitation, developing realistic expectations as to what hair transfer surgery can achieve for you, and ultimately, which physicians are doing state of the art hair transplant surgery. At the end of the day, there’s a lot to learn and then you have to be able to apply that to your specific situation. That includes your current hair loss situation, whether or not you are still losing hair, how many hair transplant procedures you might need overtime and whether you can afford it, etc. It also includes making sure that you don’t go to a physician just because they are local and inexpensive. Instead, it’s better to do research on finding a Hair Transplant surgeon who has a proven track record of producing outstanding results.

I hope this helps
