Senior Member Mountinvan Posted February 19, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted February 19, 2022 (edited) There are a number of shampoos. I would find one that works well with your hair and perhaps add some additional ingredients.I have added peppermint oil, castor oil, and olive oil. You can also add saw palmetto and pumpkin seed oil. A little of this... and a little of that. Peppermint oil has natural anti-inflammatory benefits. This study on peppermint oil is worth a read: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4289931. Shampoo ingredients that may strengthen hair and give it the look of fullness include: ginseng biotin collagen aloe vera PS Look at my avatar. It is working. Regular Member Goblin82 Posted February 19, 2022 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 19, 2022 Thank you! There are a few online I can find; Son's which contains; Saw Palmetto Argan Oil Iron Vitamin B3/Niacin Cedarwood Oil Hibiscus Amla Oil Sage Oil Rosemary Leaf Oil There is also Manual which contains Biotin, Saw Palmetto, Caffeine, ginger, sage and olive oil. Or lipogaine with pretty much the same ingredients. Haha nice head of hair 😅
Senior Member Mountinvan Posted February 20, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted February 20, 2022 My view is mix it up. Hairguard makes a good caffeine based shampoo. There are some really expensive Argan Oil shampoos. Dr. Shapiro has a medicated shampoo. If you use Nizoral--make sure you use the prescription 2%. Big difference. Regular Member Goblin82 Posted February 20, 2022 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 20, 2022 Thank you. I bought the 20mg/g, is that the 2%?
Senior Member Mountinvan Posted February 20, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted February 20, 2022 Not sure. Nizorol comes in an over the counter 1%. But it is way less effective, in my opinion, than the 2% prescription. Google ketoconazole shampoo 2 percent which is the generic version.
Senior Member Curious25 Posted March 20, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted March 20, 2022 Use 2% Nizoral as frequently as your scalp can handle , and then on the days you don’t use it, look for a nice quality paraben free shampoo - you’re wasting your money with the ‘dht blocking’ shampoos.

Just use any other mild to moderate shampoo for everyday use. For DHT, medicines, as prescribed by your doctor, are the only option in my opinion.
