Hair transplant for a thicker and denser midscalp/crown

Recommended Posts

Does anyone here knows which HT doctor is the best for midscalp/crown? I know Dr Konior is one of the best for hairline. I have also seen the recommended list of HT doctors but can’t decide who to choose.

I have been taking Finasteride 1mg daily for 2+ years and Oral Minoxidil for 1 year. I can’t tolerate Dutasteride. I am in my late 20s and just assume that money is of no issue for me.

I have seen a video by Feller and Bloxham (first 2 pictures) where they increased density in someone’s hairline who already has a full head of hair, and was wondering if the same could be done for my midscalp/crown area. I know many people will refer to this as hair greed, but if it is possible, I don’t mind spending the money as I want to enjoy my ‘youth’ not stressing.

Any HT doctors who are good at increasing midscalp/crown density? Like I said, price is of no issue.

I would be very surprised if any top tier doctors would operate on you.

They’d likely recommended use of a concealer or fibres

Like I said, Feller and Bloxham are one of the HT doctors recommended on this website and in the first 2 pictures, they increased density on the hairline of a guy who pretty much had a full head of hair. I was wondering if the same could be done for my midscalp/crown.

It’s not a question of whether it can be done, it’s a question of whether anyone would be willing to do it.

Your loss is minimal (if it even is loss, seeing as though you have parted your hair off the whorl of the crown and taken the pictures under an overhead spotlight) and you are in your late 20’s, therefore I’d bet that it would be likely most ethical and top tier doctors wouldn’t see the risk reward be in the favour of surgery, in this case.

Why don’t you shortlist doctors who you like, and contact them via email with your pics and surgical goals, then gather their feedback?

You could also up your dosage of oral minoxidil if you felt comfortable doing so, and try topical dutasteride ?

Yeah, but I’m not really sure which HT doctors are more specialised in filling up midscalp/crown density, so I would like some recommendations if any, especially for a case like mine. I was also wondering for the Feller and Bloxham case, that guy also had good density on his hairline but managed to fill it up even more? I am not able to get topical Dutasteride from where I live and honestly oral Fin 1mg should not be worse than topical dutasteride, not to mention topical Dutasteride do not have as many clinical trials to show its efficacy. I get heart palpitations if I increase oral min to 5mg a day, so I’m just sticking to 2.5mg daily. Like I said, spending around 20-30k for a good hair transplant isn’t an issue for me, I have the money for it lol. In terms of medication I have already tried my best and there’s that.

I went to Konior and he's done my hairline, crown and midscalp which I can't recommend him enough. As others have said, your loss is minimal and most doctors would recommend waiting to see if that area develops further loss in the future. You can always reach out for virtual consults and send pictures to see if you're a qualified candidate or not.

You'll certainly be stressing if your transplant shocks out surrounding native hair.  Proceed with caution.
