Regular Member Hair_hunter Posted November 23, 2021 Regular Member Share Posted November 23, 2021 (edited) Surgeon: Dr. Ozlem Bicer (Istanbul, Turkey) Date: 16th Nov 2021 Age: 25 First Noticed signs of Hair Thinning / Recession: 18 years old NW Scale: IV Surgical Plan: Restructure of the Hairline + Frontal area. Surgical Technique: FUE by Micromotor Graft Count: 3,250 Grafts Singles: 1,250 Doubles: 1,460 Multiples: 540 Density: 40 cm2 Hey all, I started balding when I was 18, and from then I knew I will get an hair transplant, used minoxidil for a while and was little addicted to topic LOL. After learning a lot of the procedure from this forum I wasn't sure what surgeon to choose for, my main choices were: HDC, HLC and Bicer and some other cheap clinics. After discussing with Bicer on the phone and told her about my concerns regarding the hairline and the fact that I am still young and can possibly get to Norwood 7, she was very relaxing and told me not to worry and she will do her best, alto she couldn’t promise the hairline Hight and that could be done only with set of eyes. At the day of the surgery I came to Bicer office and discussed and measure the hairline, and after that we move it down a bit from the original mark that shee mark we agreed on a hairline - not my dream hairline but satisfying In the operation room her 2 assistants was putting me the needle-less anesthesia that feel like a staples on the head, and got me some Zanex . It took some time to the Zanex to start its affect, so the needleless anesthesia wasn’t the best feeling ever but ok. During the extraction phase I was very high from the pill and slept most of the time, You cannot get in to the surgery with phone and I got really board, I asked the doctor to put some music and DR Bicer was very nice and putted some Turkish music and started singing with the music. I was so high when I tried moving a bit during the extraction stage that I grabbed Dr Bicer leg and thought it was the chair and didn’t leaved it 😂 , she asked me if I know it was her leg and leagued about it and I was like no sorry oops 😂 The last 4 hours of the surgery was very hard for me and boring, mostly because the pill was off already and they couldn’t gave me anything else ( I asked ) and they told me only local injection is ok in this phase. I got into the surgery room around 10 AM and left it around 20:30 and a brake in the middle to eat Some Turkish doner Overall experience was very good felt like everting is very professional, I was more than happy if it was allowed to had some entertainment in the surgery room for people that doesn’t sleep all of the operation. i will keep you posted regarding the results & second transplant when time will come 😂 Before: In process: right after: day after , bandage off: 7 Days after: Edited November 24, 2021 by Hair_hunter
Senior Member Britanium Posted November 23, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted November 23, 2021 Excellent work by Dr Bicer, I’m glad you ended up choosing her in the end. I remember you considering other Drs and she was definitely the best out of them. 2

Hopefully you are on Finasteride. Its not often we see Dr Bicer accept a patient like you, but the work looks clean.

I really afraid from side affects of finstride so it's not on the table. Dr Bicer recommended minoxidil for the crown & middle until the time will come to my next HT. I will start using after a month from my current HT
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted November 23, 2021 Valued Contributor Share Posted November 23, 2021 You chose a very good surgeon and the post op pics speak for themselves. The hairline height is perfect as you appear to be very young so you have the rest of your life to grow into your new hairline and not out of it. Thanks for sharing and I will be looking forward to following your updates. 1 GATSBY 'UNPLUGGED!' 15,671 (3 surgeries) Grafts FUE+BHT Dr. Sethi Eugenix

I will start using after a month from my current HT To be honest I wouldnt do a transplant without trying Finasteride considering probably going Norwood 7, you will run out of donor. If you try Finasteride you can probably stabilise because you have so much hair to try to keep. Possibly you can lose everything in just a couple of years depending on how aggressive your loss is. I might sound harsh but to do a transplant with this clear pattern at 25 years of age is like pouring water into a bucket with the biggest of holes on the bottom. Dr Bicer is one of my absolute favorites, she is usually ethical, she have amazing post op care and everything just seems great with her. So I am pretty shocked to see her accept you with this loss considering you would not even try Finasteride. I am just telling you the truth what is going to happen without medication, because I am sure you are looking for a life long result like all of us and not just 5 years forward. I might sound negative, but its just that I care about cases like this, when I see what is going to happen. Regular Member Eran Posted November 24, 2021 Regular Member Share Posted November 24, 2021 Looks good! I think the plan is good and it seems, you have enough donor for the future. Knowing her, I know she took your hair loss progress into account. im also never took Fine. And I’m happy with my choice today (I’m almost 40). you did a great choice! Good luck and keep us updated 🙂
Regular Member saadarif Posted November 24, 2021 Regular Member Share Posted November 24, 2021 Work looks good!! Had my procedure with Dr. Bicer on 11th Nov. Would be closely following your Journey. Given that our surgeries were just 5 days apart, it would be interesting to see our progress at each milestone. Please keep us updated and Good Luck!!
Regular Member MaasterK Posted January 7, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted January 7, 2022 Believe me my man that finasteride side effects are totally inflated. It's all on their minds (placebo). And also PFS it's a complete lie, if you stop using finasteride, your DHT levels will return to normal, so it has no permanent effect. Worst thing that can happen is you having to stop it. I took finasteride my first time being scared about sides, and that same day I had problem getting it up with a girl. It was impossible for it to be finasteride at that point, it was me fearing that happen. Kept taking it and on a weekend I got a little drunk and ended up having no problems. (because I wasn't even thinking about that just wanted to have fun)

Thanks! It was 1.5 euro per graft at the time , but now i think Dr Bicer changed the price a bit. By the way, I forgot to mention that I started using minoxidil after a month from the HT date.

Senior Member Dillpickle123 Posted February 15, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted February 15, 2022 Wow it’s interesting that you were even considered a candidate since you don’t want to take fin and your hair loss pattern looks aggressive for 25 I was told not to get one and my loss isn’t anywhere close to this, you have to try finasteride at least every other day or else all this hard work will go to waste imo
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted February 15, 2022 Valued Contributor Share Posted February 15, 2022 Congratulations @Hair_hunter. For three months post op your results are already looking excellent! I would like to say though that at your age if you want to keep this great look (and what's even more to come) that it is worth trying finasteride. If you don't like it due to side effects then simply stop the drug or micro dose. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to your updates! 1 GATSBY 'UNPLUGGED!' 15,671 (3 surgeries) Grafts FUE+BHT Dr. Sethi Eugenix
Regular Member ProspectII Posted February 15, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted February 15, 2022 Would just like to add to the other posters about finasteride. I spent 3 years only applying minoxidil and being scared of what finasteride could do. I've now been on fin (1mg/day) for 6 months and haven't experienced any sides. I'd encourage anyone to try it and if any sides occur, simply stop. I only wish I started it 3 years sooner!
Regular Member MaasterK Posted March 10, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted March 10, 2022 Only 3 months and your results are looking really good! That's nice! I really recommend you to start finasteride, I promise it won't give you any sides and it will make all the hair you have now remain there 😉! will be waiting for the updates!
