Regular Member Leb_Guy Posted October 17, 2021 Regular Member Share Posted October 17, 2021 Hi guys, I am 38 years old and I have been in this HRN forums for a long time and today I want give back and share my experience with you. I am very grateful for this forum because it helped me choose the best clinic for me. I did the classical mistake when I was younger and I did a FUT HT which I regret back in 2008. My hair kept on thinning and on August 19, 2021 I decided to go with FUE by Dr. Koray in ASMED. I had a great experience with ASMED because I have been researching this clinic for a long time and I knew what I am expecting. Currently I am almost 2 month post operation - ugly duckling phase I am sharing my pictures below. Please feel free to ask me anything and give me your thoughts.

Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted October 17, 2021 Valued Contributor Share Posted October 17, 2021 The donor's looking good and that's a very tidy FUT scar. Are you taking finasteride currently or anything else? Many thanks for sharing and I look forward to your updates. All the best! Regular Member Leb_Guy Posted October 17, 2021 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 17, 2021 Hi Gatsby, Thank you very much. I was using Regaine for many years but never took any other medication. However, I started taking finasteride (Propecia 1mg everyday) based on Dr. Koray recommendation right after the operation. No sides so far.
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted October 17, 2021 Valued Contributor Share Posted October 17, 2021 That's great news about the finasteride. Happy growing and keep us all updated. Regular Member Leb_Guy Posted October 18, 2021 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 18, 2021 @Scotch thanks! Yes they provided me with the grafts calculator result. ASMED donor management is the main reason for choosing them.
Regular Member Leb_Guy Posted October 19, 2021 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 19, 2021 I think it is provided with the USB stick given. I remember the donor area capacity is 8400, 59 macron, and not sure about the density.
Regular Member Leb_Guy Posted November 7, 2021 Author Regular Member Share Posted November 7, 2021 2 Month and 18 Days Update Not gonna lie, this ugly duckling stage got me depressed. Time is really going slow for me. I am noticing some hairs sprouting but not sure if they are the transplanted ones. Donor area recovered well but I feel donor hairs are thinner than before. Below some pictures at different lighting. I am still on 1mg fin everyday and Regaine foam before going to sleep.
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted November 7, 2021 Valued Contributor Share Posted November 7, 2021 At only 8 weeks post op no amount of support will change how you feel. But know that this will pass! You are at the nadir of having a hair transplant. In 6-8 weeks from now this will be a completely different story. Stay on the finasteride if you can and I look forward (as much as I promise you will) to following your journey. Happy growing and thanks for sharing! 1 GATSBY 'UNPLUGGED!' 15,671 (3 surgeries) Grafts FUE+BHT Dr. Sethi Eugenix
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted November 7, 2021 Valued Contributor Share Posted November 7, 2021 I failed to add that your donor looks great! 1 GATSBY 'UNPLUGGED!' 15,671 (3 surgeries) Grafts FUE+BHT Dr. Sethi Eugenix
Regular Member Leb_Guy Posted November 21, 2021 Author Regular Member Share Posted November 21, 2021 3 Months Update I am still bald but I am noticing many sprouts here and there. I know it very early to judge but I see others on YouTube and here in the forums where they have a much defined hairline by month 3. When I zoom in into my temples for example I see many sprouts but it's not really defining the hairline when I look at the mirror as I expected it to be by month 3. I also noticed (when I zoom in) little thick stubborn transplanted hairs here and there that did not get longer nor shed and not sure if these are dead follicles. Right temple has more sprouts than the left one and donor area looking good to me. Dr. Koray told me that I will need another visit to cover up the crown area but I don't want to think about it now. Please let me know your thoughts! I am still on fin 1mg everyday and foam Regaine once a day.
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted November 21, 2021 Valued Contributor Share Posted November 21, 2021 At only 12 weeks it's all looking very good! It's also great that you are able to take finasteride. I don't know how long you have been on this for but there's a very good chance that it will help in your crown area too! Thanks for sharing! 2 GATSBY 'UNPLUGGED!' 15,671 (3 surgeries) Grafts FUE+BHT Dr. Sethi Eugenix
Regular Member Leb_Guy Posted December 2, 2021 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 2, 2021 Quick Update: 3.5 Month I started to see some growth, hairs look good at specific angles with flash, and pretty bald from the top view without flash. Pictures attached to see what I mean. Donor area is very good but noticed tiny patchy areas after a haircut. When I met Dr. Koray he told me he will try to hide the old hairline (from the first transplant) and I think it's already hidden behind the new one with many single grafts that I like so far. They are still very thin hoping it will mature and fill in in the coming months. Still using fin and minox foam.
Regular Member Leb_Guy Posted December 20, 2021 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 20, 2021 (edited) Month 4 Update Hello guys, I started to wear less hat as my native thin hair got a bit longer. I still see sprouts and small hairs everywhere but it is not really adding any fuller look. I started to like the hairline because it kind of covered my unnatural hairline from the first surgery although the hairs there are thin and colorless. I am not sure if I am on track or not but I know 4 month is still early. Donor area is looking great and I am thinking in 4 or 5 months to have SMP on my strip scar. I would appreciate your comments and feedback. Edited December 20, 2021 by Leb_Guy
Senior Member Kraistoff Posted December 20, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted December 20, 2021 Hello, for 4 months this is looking fine. You are still in the ugly duckling phase. It’s from months 8/9 I started to see the difference, and then by 18 months I could style may hair
